If Werewolves are in then I hope they implement them well. I'm not just talking about their animation, art or design..

..I'm taking about Atmosphere!

Imagine playing Skyrim and your character is walking through a dark lonely forest with only the sound of your footsteps keeping you company. The fire of your torch only lighting several yards around you.

Then suddenly a wolf's howl pierces the lonely dark. Shadows can be seen darting from cover to cover in the distance. Bushes rustle, eyes glow. Growls can be heard approaching. And it is at this point you realise that you are being stalked.

It isn't until you stare up to the black sky to see the face of the full moon staring back.. and thats when you realise whats stalking you.

Atmosphere Beth, we need atmosphere :)

I'd rather have weresharks that stalk you while you swim.

Yes, they are in the lore.

I don't like it when were creatures can only change during the full moon... (is this how ES werewolves are?)

Anyways, yes, i agree on better atmosphere. They would need to change it from OB so battle music doesn't start whenever an enemy sees you too, only when they actually start attacking.

Also bandits stalking a trade caravan should also do something like this.

Reminds me of the bloodmoon quest where you're hunting the spirit bear or whatever, and the werewolves are slowly picking your party off one by one..

I'd love to see some quests like that (if not a full dlc expansion about weres.. )

Hey I'm not trying to usurp anyone's thread guys... this one is about handling better atmosphere in Skyrim. They need to get rid of that dang battle music that acts like a 'spider sense' in Oblivion! (or implement it better)

Gromm, you're thread's awesome bud

You rock, man!

But I'm trying to talk atmosphere here :)

They need to get more scares and frights into Skyrim. More hairs-sticking-up-on-the-back-of-the-neck thing :)

I was just joking, I thought it was about Werecreatures, and well we get a lot of threads about that, so just trying to keep it organized.
My mistake. :P

Anyway, on atmosphere. Yes, I think it is very important and especially the Battle Music ruined it.

Not totally convinced on Weresharks

It only says this on ESwebsite "No primary source sightings that are reputable"

Any other sources anyone?

If they can bring Weresharks into Skyrim while your swimming that would be f***ing awesome... but please NO battle music to warn you of an impending attack (or any Jaws tunes *Duh dun, duh dun*)

I know man, I was just having fun. :) Your thread title is an evocative one though, which is appropriate while we're discussing atmosphere.

Sounds (like those you mentioned already) play a huge role in building an atmosphere (whether for a beast-haunted twilit forest, or a bustling city dock), and I hope that's not overlooked. Wolf howls in Skyrim's nights will be shiver-worthy, surrounded by all those mountains and forests...

A few misty graveyards, lonely bat-infested towers, and rose-covered tombs wouldn't hurt, either, from the vampire side of things. Given the hand-crafted nature of Skyrim's (many) dungeons and regions, I think it's safe to assume we'll get at least a few dark, romantic, and spooky places to visit... or run from.

Weresharks are just a rumour in some book in TES.
They probably don't exist.

Yes, werewolves in lore turn when there is a full moon. But the werewolves in Bloodmoon turned every night, I am guessing because it's during the time of the hunt.

Werewolves in Skyrim(Assuming they are in) should look like the ones in "Van Helsing". Except with a tail. The ones in Daggerfall looked like the Van Helsing one. I also would like for them to have additional powers such as "Wolf eyes" and "Spirit of the Wolf" and "Werewolf resistance" like they did in Bloodmoon, but this time in human form too. I would also like for the character to have different facial effects, especially the golden eyes Lycanthropes have.

I would love to roleplay as a werewolf. Sleeping in wilderness camps and drinking water and cooking and eating raw meat. Waking up naked, perhaps have a cabin out in the mountain forest. Hell yes!

I agree. I would feel much better with them in. People felt better when dragons where introduced and when hand to hand combat wasn't totally scraqed. They even celebrated when horses are now made mounts. I am sure there will be a celebration if werewolves are confirmed to make a return.

I really want to see both werewolves and vampires. But updates to both would make Skyrim 100x better. I didn't want to be an old man while playing a vampire.. Different physical changes and more benefits would be appreciated. Werewolves would be amazing, but I never played Morrowind so I just want them in it.
