The Patch broke the Dragons

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 5:40 am

Pretty silly, at first i thought im not affected, but after the patch i noticed that in random dragon encounters(after the mq, dont know how that affects random encounters) they basicly flee from me and even when i hit them with dragonrend they dont land.

I can get by beeing forced to use steam to play this whonderful game. svcks that i had auto update activated, so im stuck with this patch.

What level are you?
I hear tell of creatures fleeing higher level players but it's the first I've heard about dragons fleeing.

This is border-line off topic, but I don't want to clutter the thread list with this question....

can anyone tell me if the PC patch has been released yet? Or how I will know that it has been?

To make up for it, here's a video someone posted on youtube. apparently dragons can fly backwards now!

There has been no reports of a Dragon flying backwards on the PC version of the patch, which was released around 12:30PM EST. The Dragon bug is on the PS3 for sure.

Im lvl 57 andi would make sense for a normal dragon to avoid me but it rather felt bugged when he doesnt land after getting hit with dragonrend. I will try some dragonroosts and report then, Woot theres a patch right now. In the notes its says " Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack" So lets see

Confirmed as affecting PS3 and Xbox versions. My understanding is the Steam version of the patch was taken down already...that just proves how bad it really was.

Where can I download it at? Without using steam, preferably.

The dragons have sometimes just ignored me in the past, but they have just as often attacked. If it is a bug it is a very good bug IMO, since it makes dragons less annoying. That said, if they stop attacking entirely it had gone to far.

They glitch and sometimes freeze the game. They often spin in circles in the sky, teleport, and breathe at nothing..then fly through mountains and dissapear...or land..then teleport and freeze your game. This is in no way a "cool" or "fun" glitch..this is 100% game breaking in the worst way.

lol does bethesda even test their patches before they release them?

maybe that sounded mean and ignorant of how game developing works, but still, this patch created more issues than it fixed. big time fail.

Why would you want to patch the game sans Steam if you're on PC, unless you didn't buy the game?

Actually, forget that. With all the problems, why would you even want the patch??

If you are having specific issues with the 1.2 patch for PC, use the existing discussion topic: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1298554-patch-12-unofficial-thread-3/

If you are on PS3 or Xbox, use the corresponding forum section for PS3 or Xbox tech support.
