The Patch Coming Out Tomorrow

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:20 pm

So I understand that one of the things the patch will fix on the 360 is the graphics when the game is installed to the HDD. But is that it? Are they going to be fixing the lag that happens sometimes or the audio bugs that seem to pop up at random? Does anyone have any new info on this?

If you've read the post on Bethesda's blog, then I'm pretty sure you know just as much as the rest of us. Supposedly the 360 patch is coming out overnight, so you shouldn't have long to wait.

I didn’t download the game to my HDD in the first place, so that wasn’t bothering me. It’s just some of the smaller things like the Ebony armor and the sound messing up. I’ve only had a couple random crashes. Guess I’ll shoot over and go read they’re blog and see.

The patch notes scare me. It says "fixes an issue where people who INSTALLED THE GAME had texture issues"
Uh, it happens OFF the disc. Not just when installed. I truly hope they realize this and just worded it wrong.

I agree 150,000 times! I have an Xbox slim with a built in 5 gig memory unit, I can’t DL the game to my HDD if I wanted to and I’m not about to spend 100 dollars on a HDD. I’m trying to wait until the price drops or they release smaller ones. Like you said, it’s happening to people who haven’t downloaded it. I’ll be playing the game and due to pop up, it’ll freeze for a solid 10 seconds. I’m with you on hoping they just worded it wrong.

The only problem that needs fixing in my game is to stop those multiple placed items on shelves and tables from disappearing when the cursor is moused over them.

As far as I know, http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/11/28/skyrim-1-2-update/ is the only info we have about it so far.

If the patch doesn't introduce another difficulty setting it's a waste of a patch. I haven't experienced a single bug, graphical issue or sound issue. I've locked up maybe 4 times but that happens.

To the OP: Beth ain't going to fix all the bugs. They never have. At the pc forum they have listed about 500 bugs. Bethesda..... well, you do the math.

The unofficial oblivion patchs fixes over 2,200 bugs.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised if the unofficial patch for Skyrim is about the same.

We'll be lucky if they even fix half of the questbreaking bugs. Bethesda needs to get their act together. Yeah, it's an open world game with a lot of content...and that's not an excuse. When multiple important quests can't be completed, when it won't run properly for an entire platform...ever, when the previous game you released has a FAN-MADE patch that has to fix all of your crap and you still didn't do a better job, you failed.

welcome to the "I must now avoid Markarth club"

thane, tons of sweet gear stored, nice dwelling, all gone for me now because I went back to the Shrine of Talos in Markarth for the blessing. Guard are stuck in a never ending loop, can't bribe, can't pay, can't go to jail, because ofc, already did the quest to escape their jail, which is a mine, and since that is a one time non-repeatable quest the game has no clue what to do.

all I CAN do is attack guards, or run around. Will try and see if stormcloaks can take over Markarth, replacing the guards.

Anyone else noticing any game lag/stalling after the patch? I notice that if I play the game, quit do something, go back to the game, quit, do something else, go back into the game again, going to the menu (tab key), causes lag/stalls as the animation starts for the menu, plus some really BIG in game stalls. This was never like this before the patch and the game never had any issues with being run multiple times. I had to reboot (normally hibernate) to clean up the driver, seems that it caused a glitch in the video driver, other games were also affected.
