AwesomePossum:
Do you or the author of that article even know the definition of "Mary Sue/Gary Stu"? (since you don't seem to have an opinion of your own and are instead relying on someone else to convey it)
I really wonder why people misuse that term so much. A Mary Sue is primarily author self-insert or wish fulfillment.
A character who is a Michael Moorecock reference with questionable social/people skills, terrible parenting skills who is essentially a bad-luck charm and on a semi-regular basis makes extremely bad judgment calls is not a Mary Sue. At all.
Besides, every single game protagonist would then become a Mary Sue/Gary Stu, if I were to use such a broad, generalizing definition of yours the author's.
Anyway, my last post about this issue, since I have no wish to derail this thread anymore with The Witcher. If you are interested, we can move this to PM, or the relevant Witcher thread in the Community forum.
Doesn't matter, CDPR surpassed them in one game.
The Witcher 3 makes Dragon Age and Skyrim look like amateur hour
On that we just have to disagree. The Witcher 3 is the worst Witcher game yet.
Yes.
The false rumor that we want the return to isometric gameplay is poisonous. I can't believe people here actually believe that.
What about fallout 3? Both games have around the same amount of buildings you can enter. The only difference is that Fallout 3 has a huge facade of buildings you CAN'T enter in the capitol wasteland while NV had lots of desert. Course, the CW feels much better once I installed interior mods that adds many new enterable buildings.
gta top down and gta 3d, that's just totally different games, none of which would in any way work "translated" into the other "mode", so it's not actually anything one could "want back" -
yet, i liked the top down version for what it was just as well, it just was a hell of fun (just like it's remote relative "death rallye" btw), and i'd sure like to see a couple games of that kind - but like i said, what gta is now just wouldn't translate to that anymore.
Logical fallacies? Care to expand on that a bit?
its not really important if its a good "fallout game". whats important if that its gonna be good bethesda game, why the hell would they want to make some old school throwback isometric rpg game? so they can go bankrupt ? thats a lousy idea, good thing Godd Howard is in charge we don't have to worry about going back to the 90s, fallout 4 is gonna set the standard for open world/rpgs.
I think this is sufficiently filled with personal insults to go ahead and close it early.
