God, I loathed combat in the game. A completely failed experiment IMO.
Just have to learn to play; (that's not meant as bad as it sounds). It was unfamiliar at first, but it soon became quite addictive, and I played the game through to the end, then kept playing skirmishes... then started over again. Brilliant game IMO. Like TES it had traps... unlike TES, I recall a snare trap that flips you upside down and has you hanging from one leg while being attacked by a mob... you can actually fight them off upside down, but they expect you to escape by deliberately cutting the rope.

What TES player wouldn't prefer total freedom of blade, and damage based on how well they hit? It's been a lot of years, and the hardware has finally started to catch up. DbtS was waaay ahead of it's time, and there is still nothing that comes close IMO.

You don't have to provide those links to me. I've played Morrowind. I know exactly how it works.

And while in certain ways the reputation and factions system is better than it is in Skyrim, it is not anywhere near as complex or in depth as it's made out to be.

Not trying to insult you. I linked it because that's easier than me making a wall of text to explain it all. It's a pretty common practice around here actually. Surprised you find it funny.

What I think is funny is how people always feel the need to "educate" me on Morrowind, as if I've never experienced it.

*Looks at signature of all time favorite games*

Yup, I've experienced Morrowind. I can't tell you how many hours I put into that game. I have plenty of stories from friends of me missing out on outings and such because I ended up spending 3 or 4 hours in Morrowind, and honestly, truly, genuinely feeling like I spent 20 minutes in it. While Skyrim has come along and quite possibly knocked Morrowind out of the #1 all time favorite game slot, Morrowind is STILL (and probably always will be) the most impactful and influential game I have ever played. Morrowind single handedly redefined what it was I was looking for in a video game / RPG, and Morrowind has given me a gaming experience that is only matched by other Bethesda titles. My top 4 (which are all Bethesda games, and not coincidentally so) are so far and above the #5 game and beyond.

But nah, I don't know how Morrowind worked. I need people to send me UESP links telling me how factions and reputation worked. I obviously don't know what I'm talking about...

I saw your list of games, but it doesn't include Half Life 2, so you can't know too much. ;)

Half-Life 2 isn't a game, it's a tech demo.

Beth is great in terms If lore crafting and aesthetic immersion, but for some reason they can't afford a proper balance team.

1. Agreed, but I can live with it.

2. I like kill cams but I think we should be able to toggle them off.

3. I did not enjoy being forced into third person for werewolf, vampire, and horseback riding.

4. I liked the skills/attributes from the previous title.

5. Agreed.

6. Agreed.
