Y'know like the combat rifle might be the M-20 or something like that?

I remember in Fallout 3 you find a laser pistol in a desk in the sewers that had a little manual with it and I think it may have named the pistol, or mentioned the manufactuer's name or something.

I've had a look at the weapon's page in the Fallout Wiki but it doesn't say.

I would like to name my weapons their proper names, rather than "hardened combat rifle" or some silly name I made up. I kinda svck at that. The best I could come up with for my 10mm pistol was "Sheperd's 10mm pistol."

The Laser weapons that follow Bethesda's design, in Fallout 3 and 4, are called the AER9 (Laser Rifle) and AEP7 (Laser Pistol). That's their model numbers, anyway, although considering weapon modding in 4 it might be best to disregard the actual number and stick with AER/AEP.

Generally, the wiki's pretty good about listing what the make and model of a weapon is if it actually does have a make and model number. Most of the weapons that existed since Fallout 1&2 will have that info, but otherwise it's anyone's guess for most of them.
