The rareity of certain armor

Post » Fri Sep 30, 2011 10:30 pm

I am really hopeing for a morrowind-esqe take on high level generic armors.

While playing Obivion with a high level character, It kinda pissed me off when every bandit and their teenage runnaway sidekicks wore the supposedly extreamly rare Deadric and Glass armors.
But in morrowind these kinds of loot were the rarest of the rare scattered across numerus dungeons or proudly worn by the toughest dudes in the game.

But now that Bethesda fixed the leveled gameplay there'd be a good chance that bandits stick to wearing something realisticly affordable on a highwayman salary.
I personaly realy enjoyed dungeon diving for those beuties in morrowind. Here's to hopeing. right? or do you guys prefer the way Oblivion did it?

I would love to have some rare and powerful armor that is ONLY obtainable through quests or mini bosses. I hate leveled loot. I like to upgrade my gear when I complete a quest or defeat some sort of boss.

I agree. Badits wearing Daedric armor was kind of scary.

I just hope there's a few 'rare' armors, artifact style.

I hated the way it was handled in Oblivion. Like BFC said, why would they be living in tents and robbing passerby if they had thousands of septims worth of gear already?

It really took away the feeling of accomplishment felt upon initially obtaining high quality gear. Sure, a quest pitted you against some really tough opponents and you came out with a couple glass/daedric pieces... But in a few levels, you'll be leaving those items on the ground because they're so common. Besides, you already have 500k septims and nothing to spend it on. :banghead:

it better be difficult to get a set of rare armor. Like you have to go dungeon crawling or boss fighting for each piece or something. And yeah Bandits wearing glass and daedric armor was [censored]

I'd definitely love to see the return of hand placed artifacts and rare weapons/armor in Skyrim. In Morrowind you really felt a sense of accomplishment finding these rare pieces scattered across the land.

A greater supply of any marketable items should always drive the prices down, too. Amazingly, it was iron, steel, fur, and leather that became kind of rare as you gained levels. In such a world deadric and glass might actually cost less than the inferior materials... despite their superior quality. That's how the market should work.

mabye that was just the way oblivion was designed o.O i mean its was like the capital city, the bandits had to keep with the styles n' times! i mean remember the roxy inn? there were bandits in there that would upgrade every level all the way up to FULL glass and deadric. "mithril was so level 10"

I want to see armor that is so rare, that there is one set in the whole game obtainable outside of crafting...with the pieces scattered all over the place on bosses, and for the parts needed to craft the armor rare enough that you can only make one set.
