The Reclamation Of Anchorage

Post » Fri Sep 18, 2009 2:40 pm

In 2066 the Communist Chinese invaded American soil. Recently annexed Canada sent soldiers to attempt to deal with the problem. Though it took American soldiers outfitted in T-45d armour to hold them off, holding them off was all they could do. No matter how many Chinese were killed it seemed that the Reds had five more to take their place. At least until June. In June West Tek released the T-51b armour, a modern miracle of science. But it wasn't enough. The Chinese had been developing stealth technology and the dreaded 'Chimera tank'. It was decided to simply funnel as many troops as possible into Anchorage to push back the Reds. You are a soldier in the squad of Captain Leroy Beckett. Your turn.

RULES
-Regular forum rules, I can't be screwed writing them, they're stickied anyway
-Read Illusionary Nothing's guide, otherwise don't waste my time
-Not everyone will be designated T-51b armour, nor is it easy to scavenge. If they got killed it's almost certain their armour is destroyed, same with the chinese stealth armour
-Have fun
-NO ONE-LINERS. Normally I don't kill off characters but if you make a one-liner I will be tempted.
-No rank higher than Lieutenant if your an officer or Staff Sergeant if your an enlisted

Mike

Mike stamped out the cigarette and looked out into the snowy tundra that was Alaska. He was just about to head out to an "classified" location for reassignment. He was going to miss his squad, and he hoped they could survive without him.

Mike was just about to head over to the truck waiting to drive him out when he saw a movement out in the mountains. He dropped down to the ground just as a bullet hissed over his head and he rolled, dodging more bullets. He pulled out his sniper rifle and took aim, quickly unleashing a shot in the direction of the enemy sniper. Bingo, headshot. Damn he was good.

"And that is exactly why your being reassigned. Now get your ass on this truck, its freezing out here." yelled one of the men on the truck. Mike stuck his finger up at him and lit up another cigarette, taking a drag as he walked over to the truck. He jumped on and took a seat, taking out his M16 and hanging it over the side of the truck, ready for combat.

"Move out!" he yelled.

Pvt. Jonathan Hunt

Jonathan was on a truck heading to meet his new squad. He was freezing so he pulled his balaclava up. He was talking to a few other soldiers about Alaska and by the looks of it he was going to be here a long time considering both sides were at a stalemate. One of the soldiers told him there might be a blizzard coming and that he should stay indoors the remainder of the day.

The truck hit a rock causing a soldiers rifle to fall out delaying him even more when they had to stop to retrieve it.

" You should keep a good grip on your rifle." Jonathan said.

"Sorry I'm just freezing my ass off here. By the way do you have any cigarettes on you? I seemed to have lost mine."

"Nope I don't smoke."

" Oh okay, Well it's okay. What is your specialty anyway?" Jonathan turned around to show him the red cross.

"Oh, a medic well i'm an engine-."

A Chinese scout jeep shot the truck thinking it would be an easy kill. "Some one get on the turret the other guy's dead!" Shouted the driver. Jonathan quickly got on it and began shooting. He was trying to hit the machine gunner. After a few seconds he went down stopping the continuous spray of bullets but not before a bullet grazed him on the arm making him fall.

"Are you okay" a soldier was speaking to him.

"Yeah its just a graze nothing bad." Someone took his position as gunner and killed the rest of the enemy. He looked over and saw the engineer dead. with a bullet hole in the head. Damn another one down without me able to do anything.

Eventually he made it to the base and he asked someone where Captain Leroy Beckett was.

Edit: Oops sorry my mistake

Pvt. Thomas Keenan
Thomas made his way into base, from a few days in the field with one of the squads, it had been horrible, bullets flying, people being killed. he had also lost a patient, despite his best attempts, Thomas realised that joining the war had been a mistake, He wasn't ready for something like this, but the only way he'd ever leave is by toughening up. He was being reassigned under the command of a Captain Leroy Beckett, Thomas hoped this squad would be different.

(OOC: DB you said Japanese, but did you mean Chinese? The Japs were not in Anchorage... And could you go to a new line for speech? It makes it easier to read...)

Mike

The ride on the truck was... cold. He was the highest ranking soldier on the truck so they all stayed away from him. Pity.

He took a few shots at some passing Chinese but otherwise it was a pretty uneventful trip.

Mattias was sitting on a rock on top of a cliff about a quarter mile from camp, he had been assigned to watch duty. He was sipping at his moonshine when he noticed movement down below, he dropped to prone position and aimed his .338 rifle down where he saw the movement. Soon he spotted 3 Reds, not too bad, probably just scouts. He took careful aim, steadied his breathing, everything seemed to get quiet, the wind blowing softly.

He fired a shot, BANG, perfect hit, one Red's head exploded, splattering the white snow. The 2 others were scrambling around for cover, one dove behind a rock but the other was panicking, shooting wildly at anything, shouting in Chinese.

"Poor bastard."

Mattias shot him in the back, "Just one left." He saw the Red behind the rock, he took extreme aim, again regulating his heartbeat, he let a round loose and the top of the rock the Red was behind exploded, sending shrapnel into the back of the soldier.

"Well, that takes care o' that." Just then, Mattias's radio buzzed, "Report to base soldier, come meet yer new squad." Mattias picked up his gear, put on his warm trench-coat, and began heading back to base.

He was going down the hill as he saw a truck pull into base-camp. Hmm, a new squad, this oughta be interesting Mattias thought as he walked past the fence. As he walked through camp, some Private's saluted, Mattias nodded as if to say "At ease."

He walked up to his tent where a soldier was sitting outside, he stood to attention and Mattias waved him to sit back down.

"So, new squad's comin' in?" Mattias asked the sitting soldier, "Yep, we got another couple trucks coming along later too." Mattias took a seat next to the soldier and sipped at his moonshine, waiting for the new guys.

"But Capitan, I don't want to be reassigned, I was about go help blow up a bunch of Commies that were held up in a bunker." Joey whined

"Sorry Joe, but this is an official order, besides this could mean you get to blow up more than just a few commies. You never know you might just get yourself a medal for defending this Country." His Capitan said.

Joe replied with excitment. "You really think so Sir? Shoot my Daddy would be so proud. Alright Sir just point me where to go."

The Captain pointed over to a truck. Joey scrambled aboard.

"Lets get moving. Those Commies aren't going to blow themselves up." Joey proclaimed.

The ride was smooth the Chinese weren't anywhere to be seen. His T-B51 armor kept him warm in the freezing conditions. Joe arrived to find the place busy with soldiers everywhere he hopped of the truck and jogged over to where everyone was crowding round.

Pvt. Thomas Keenan
Tom had been waiting for Captain Beckett for ten minutes now, not pleasant to do out side a military base in the snow, sitting on his helmet, he began to read his copy of the D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine to pass the time.

Pvt. Jonathan Hunt

The soldier told him that he had to wait for the captain to get ready. Jonathan was tired, His legs ached and he was freezing. He decided to go to the mess hall to get something to eat. As he stepped into the mess hall the air was slightly warmer though it was still freezing. He pulled down his balaclava and pulled up his goggles.

He picked up his MRE's, Macaroni and cocoa. He removed his gloves and began to eat, this was his first meal in about twelve hours.

Harley was riding in a truck straight from his previous assignment at a base called Fort Marshal, to meet up with his new team at the base. Harley was in the passenger seat of the truck, with a private doing the driving, with nobody else in or on the truck. Harley looked out the window of the truck, to see white. Nothing but white and the little road the private was trying to keep the truck on. Harley was already starting to wonder if it was a good idea getting re-assigned to this place.

"Damn it Private! Keep the truck on the road!, Sgt. Harley Andrews barked at the kid in the driver's seat. Poor kid, he was having real trouble driving the truck hitting potholes and rocks.
"Yes sir, sorry sir", the private replied. He was obviously intimidated and pretty nervous.

"How do you ever expect to make Corporal if you cant drive a simple truck? Harley barked at the boy again.

"I'm sorry sir, it's just the road is slippery and on an angle on both sides sir, the road is pulling the truck to each side at the same time", the kid was nervous but the more he explained himself, the more confident he started to sound.

"Stop the truck! And Get out!, Harley yelled. "But sir", the private replied. Harley looked at the boy, "Are you questioning my orders boy? Get out and get in the passenger's side, NOW!

"Yes sir, sorry sir", the private open his door and dismounted the truck, while Harley got out his side and into the driver's seat. Once the private was sitting in the passenger's seat, Harley looked at him sternly.

"Private, what is you game? Are you trying to completely wreck the Army's truck? You've been ripping the clutch to bits since Fort Marshal! This is how you drive a truck" Harley started the truck, shifted to first gear, released the clutch gently and took off. Harley knew by the way the kid rode the clutch that it was very new to him, lucky private was getting some extra driver training from the Sgt.

"You ride the clutch like you ride your sister! You know your doing something wrong!, Harley yelled again.

The truck rumbled along the road, Harley managed to keep it straight, but he knew what the private was talking about with the rode sloping to either side. As they finally made it to the base, he pulled the truck into the motor pool loading area.

"Ok boy, just take it easy on that clutch, don't ride it so much, it's not your girlfriend". Harley jump from the truck, grabbed his machine gun and back pack from the back of the truck and approached the driver's seat, now with the private sitting at the wheel again.

He looked at the kid, and then they both started laughing, the sarge smiled at the kid "Ok Jimmy, I'll see you in a few months. And you better have that promotion by the time I'm back. Hahaha and don't let anyone touch my bike, nobody but you, ok buddy".

"Yeah no worries Harley" Pvt. Jimmy King said back, "See'ya in a few months". At that, the truck fired up and rolled out of the Base, back onto the road heading back to Fort Marshal.

Harley looked around and picked up his FN Minimi off the ground. He slung it over his arm, picked up his pack and headed for the building with 'MESS HALL' above the door. That long trip made Harley hungry. He walked through the door to see quite a few people in the building, but why wouldn't there be, it is a Mess Hall after all.

He walked to the nearest table and dropped his pack next to a chair, unfolded the bi-pod of his machine gun and stood it up on the table. He walked over to the food counters and grabbed a plate. Happy with the look of the food he walked back to his table and dropped into the chair, and started chowing down on his hot meal, while looking over his gun to make sure it survived the rough trip alright.

Mike

After the truck pulled into the large compound Mike jumped off and headed to what looked like the Mess Hall. When he entered he was surprised to see quite a large amount of soldiers here. He saw another man with a sniper and he went to sit by him, figuring they could talk guns while they waited for whoever the hell was in charge.

He plomped himself down at the table and held out his hand to the man.

"Lieutenant Mike Keys, Sniper and Scout. Nice to meet you" he said extending his hand.

Mattias was getting a bit hungry, he picked up his rifle, put hi other gear in his tent and headed for the Mess Hall. Some stew, cola, and bread sounded damn good. The wind began to blow pretty hard, so he pulled the collar of his trench-coat up so it covered his neck, luckily he still had his white ski mask on and helmet, so that shielded him too. He walked into the mess hall and took off his helmet and pulled down his ski mask, glad to be free of it. He set his gun and helmet down by a table with a sniper and machine gunner. He walked over and grabbed a nice big steaming bowl of stew and bread, and took a cola. He sat back down where he set his gear, the two men who sat with him seemed like seemed like good fellas.

The one next to him said to the man sitting across from him said, "Lieutenant Mike Keys, Sniper and Scout, nice to meet you." Ah another sniper, maybe he's one of my new squad mates, Mattias thought.

Pvt. Jack Mishugari

Jack was riding in a truck full of privates. He had never lseen snow before, and here it is. He took out a copy of Attacks by Rommel. Hopefully this will help prepare him. He was dreaming about taking out entire companies by himself, getting a Medal of Honor, and getting an honorable discharge. Then he could go ho-.
His last train of thought was broken by his arrival at the base. He got out and stretched his legs. Then he decided that the Mess Hall was where everyone was going, and proceded to go there.

OOC: Sorry I wasn't on yesturday. I had a graduation party for my cousin. And I got preoccupied with that. And I'm also sort of hung over, don't know what I'm doing up at this time?

IC

Todd was silent the whole trip to the field base. His T-51b Power Armour gleamed in the light, it wasn't the typical Power Blue that most of them were, it was solid white. And blended well with the snow, if there was a blizzard, he would be hard to spot, friend or foe. He listened to the others speak, but kept silent and just thought to himself. He was just a Sergeant, but he had enough experience to be a Captain. But was always looked over by the higher ranking officers, and the promotion was given to another, less deserving soldier. Todd had a chip on his shoulder about that, but as long as his new commander left him alone or rarely spoke with him. He would be a good soldier.

The truck rolled up to the field base, everyone filed out quickly, stretching their legs on the ground. Todd just kept to himself, and headed to the chow hut. He grabbed some food: Powdered eggs, fake ham, and some terrible coffee. Todd took a seat, taking off his helmet, and began eating. He was obviously the most noticable man in the place, with his white coated power armour anyway.

Sgt. Alexander Beria

Alexander was in the passenger seat of a truck holding on tightly to his hatchet. He was tired and hungry from his trip to Alaska all the way from Russia. In the distance he could see the American base.

"Hurry up and get to the base, I need a hot meal" Beria said to the driver.

As the truck came to a halt Alexander reached for his equipment and loaded his AKR. He immediately went to the mess hall for something to eat.

"Beckett can wait, I need some food" Beria said to himself.

Beria went and got some Trout and some water.

"Where should I sit?" thought Beria.

Alexander looked over at a table with only three men at it, two snipers and a machine gunner, and decided he would sit there. He sat by the machine gunner and asked him "Do you have any idea where Cpt. Leroy Beckett is?"

"Oh no, not yet. I only got here a little while ago, some of these other guys have been here a lot longer than I have so maybe they saw or heard from him". Harley replied to the man as he slaps the feed-cover of his machine gun closed, although the gun doesn't have a belt hanging out of it like a tongue, or a box underneath it. It wouldn't be the best idea to have a loaded machine gun that chews up and spits out 700?1150 rounds a minute, sitting on a mess hall table, while he was oiling it. He smiled and looked at the man sitting next to him.

"Now is that oiled or what. If this gun jams out in the feild, it could cost a lot of lives. Oh sorry, I didn't introduce myself, I am Sgt. Harley Andrews, Machine Gunner". He held out his hand to shake with the man's.

"Oh and allow me to introduce my faithful companion here, FN Minimi 5.56mm Light Machine Gun", Harley stated proudly
"with a rate of fire of 700?1150 rounds per minute of hell for the enemy, and effective range of 300?1000 meters, she eats through 100-round M27 disintegrating-link belts, or of course a few belts I have modified to 300 rounds, thats a lot of ammo. Unfortunately I couldn't modify some of the belt boxes to fit an extra 200 rounds, so ill have to wear those belts like clothes. I've got enough ammo in my pack to, well, paint a few hundred buildings, well as long as its lead based paint of course, haha".

"Nice to meet you Harley, I am Sgt. Alexander Beria, Spetsnaz volunteer from Russia. That is one hell of a gun you got there" Beria said as he shook Harley's hand.

Alexander took a sip of water and said to Harley "So where are you from?"

Todd ate, and saw the others from the truck eating at another table. He decided to walk over and introduce himself. He had to meet the people he would be fighting along side with, and what type of person they were. He didn't want some hard ass, or at least who thought he was hard anyway, to get him killed during a fight. Todd pulled up a seat, and sat at the table, looking at the others.

"So, where are all you from?" Todd had a sort of thundering voice that showed he had combat experience, and that he was no new recruit. He wanted respect, and that's how he showed himself, as a man that deserved respect.

"Well I was born in Dallas actually, my parents are Australian and they were on one of those holiday trips were you go and travel for like a year. And they were in America and just out of chance I was born while they were staying in Dallas", Harley said "What about you guys?

Harley slide the machine gun across to the side of the table so there was more room. It was getting pretty hot in the Mess Hall with heaters going and the fact that he had leather pants and a leather jacket underneath his armor, so he removed his reinforced Combat Armor, to reveal his Harley Davidson leather jacket.

He chucked his combat armor on top of his pack, and took his combat armor leggings off as well, also dropping them onto his pack and revealing his matching Harley leather pants. He sat back down and continued talking to the few guys at the table

"Oh by the way, any word of our CO?

Todd held out his hand, and shook the man's hand. He had a good grip, a good quality to a man at the front line. Todd looked at his jacket, and saw he was into Harley's as well. Todd used to have a motorcycle when he was younger, but had to sell it.

"I was born in rural Kentucky, but had to move after my father died. My mom and two sisters moved to San Diego, and that's where I've settled down." Todd looked at the others, trying to anolyze the others and what type of person they were. "No, I haven't heard anything on the new CO, hopefully soon?" Todd said looking at the man, "My names Todd, but you can call me Sergeant. You can only used Todd, when we're off the line." Todd said, pointing to the others as well, making sure they knew he was serious.

Pvt. Jonathan Hunt

Jonathan heard some people talking about the captain so he decided to go over and see what they were doing. He picked up his food and black gloves and walked over to the table.

"Hi i'm Private Jonathan Hunt, Combat medic." He sat down and put his gun next to the machine gun.

"Are you guys part of my new squad, the one under Captain Leroy?"

"Hello Jonathan, I am Sgt. Alexander Beria, Spetsnaz volunteer from Russia. Yes I believe everyone at this table is part of Cpt. Beckett's squad." said Alexander to Jonathan

Alexander finished eating his trout and took off his Bear cloak and placed it by his AKR.

"So how many of you have combat experience?" Beria asked aloud to everyone at the table.
