The red crosses on the map?

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 4:36 am

18 sounds like a number that's right for Daedric Shrines.

Can't be Star Stones because there are only 13 of those (and 3 of them are in the same spot meaning only 11 marks)

Can't be dungeons because there are 150+

I'm going with Shrines.

But there's 24 crosses on the actual pre-order map. ;)
About 2-4 were lost when it was photoshopped into English, then the HD map maker missed another couple.

Nah the story of the map the OP linked is the following:

- The pre-order map leaked in Russian. It was scanned so not allowed on forums.
- Someone translated it directly into English. Still not allowed on forums.
- Someone made the so called HD map from it like in this thread. This one is allowed on forums.

Tl;dr: The crosses are on the pre-order map, just like on Morrowind's pre-order map.

That was the pre-order map? I wasn't aware of that. Sorry.

Edit: I wonder what the treasure maps will look like.

Well it's not directly the pre-order one, but a version of it, so to speak. The actual pre-order one looks alot better in my opinion, in a very similar style to the Oblivion one.
But yeah I can't link you the actual pre-order map as it's not allowed. ;)

The original leak is the preorder one, right? It's ok I've seen that, I was here when it was released but there was so much speculation over where the map was from I never got a straight answer. Thanks. :D

There are 13 types of stones, not 13 total from what I understand. 13 total would make no sense since they're in groups of three in the demo and probably will be throughout the game. All those red crosses mark a group of 3 standing stones. It's not that complex. The reason I think this, is because there's a cross in the exact same spot where the stones in the demo are seen.

Shrines could be a possibility as well, but we didn't see a shrine in the demo even though he was at the spot of that cross. But it's still a good possibility, because it could have been somewhere just out of sight.

Treasures would make no sense at all. This is a common map for the entire province, not some specific treasure map. It would make no sense at all and would be really stupid and I'm 100% sure it's not treasure.

There's 13 guardian stones corresponding to the 13 birthsigns

The first 3 are only grouped because they are the basic "classes", thief, mage, warrior
