Everyone is talking about the beast races, the elves, and even Nords.

But no one is talking about the Redguards!

In my opinion, this is by far the most realistic looking group of preset faces.

I mean, look at top row center guy. Dude looks like a straight up NFL linebacker!

Then the one right next to him (top row, second from right) looks like the dude from the book The Cay (the blind guy).

On the second row, the first three guys look so realistic.

I think the redguards are easily the best looking of all the presets. They look so real!

I am probably the only one who will say this, but I might have switched my character choice TO a redguard after seeing this!

Second row, all the way to the right. I will name him Cyrus. He will be my pirate character. Granted, the one with the shorter beard looks more like Cyrus but I don't care. When it comes down to it, Redguards are tied for third with the orcs for my favorite races. I first look at the bonuses, and then I play with looks after it's all set and done.

In the past, the Redguard made the ideal offensive weapon character, (both with a sword and a bow) and are agile. The orc was much better in Oblivion than in Morrowind, but they're both still awesome for their adrenalin and berserk powers. That said, with all skills and attributes being identical in the end, I see no point in playing as a Nord or Imperial. Being one of the most popular races, hopefully few will read this post fully and discover that the Nords are my least favorite race. Sure, the orcs are probably more [censored] than the Nord but at least they have a berserk power. Anyways, I'm really excited to try out the Redguard, as I have yet to play as a pirate type character. Skyrim will probably be a great setting for my brand new Redguard to plunder and scavenge the booty! Yar!

Bottom row # 3 redguard is probably the best looking female preset out of every race.

They look great but nobody ever really gets hyped up for Redguards. I don't know why but they just don't.

They have great faces but the hair was kinda ignored in my opinion. It seems about on par with Morrowind for the males at least.

Because they dont have that 'mystical' feel....

I think you've answered your own question. Folks are most likely to post if they're unhappy, and the Redguards look fine.

i like them but i dont see any faces i would use per say... really i dont see many faces i would use without some tweaking... just have specific tastes i guess. but my warrior will be a redguard.

I don't really like how they went from a civilized and proud warrior race to a cannibal tribe.

Serious question: Is it because they are black people? I mean, if you think about it, a lot of people are white. And most people like to either role play someone that looks very similar to them, or something that's completely off the wall, like a lizard.

Well, if the polls are any indication, Redguards are the least popular race at the moment. The last character I created in Oblivion was a female Redguard, but I didn't play her for very long. Maybe I'll open Skyrim with a Redguard this time. :thumbsup:

They all look so good, though. I've thought about creating a Bosmer, Orc, Altmer, Dunmer, Redguard and Nord just within the last few days. I'll probably spend my first 10 hours in-game in the character creation making up my damned mind!

they look great. Granted, I'm only interested in Nord and Dunmer because those are the races I want to be.

What stands out to you as cannibalistic? Serious question as I still think they look like proud warriors.

I like the improvements with the Redguard, Hammerfell is suppose to be mostly desert and the skin change makes a lot of sense.

I find Redguards quite fascinating. What exactly are they? They're neither Men nor Mer, as Mer originally hail from Aldmeris and descended from the original Aldmer, and all the "Men" descended from the Nedic peoples from Atmora. Redguards came in later than the rest after they supposedly destroyed their entire continent of Yokuda with forbidden Stone Magic.

Really im impressed with the changes. I was never a fan of redgaurd, and to think now im contemplating playing one. ^_^

Same with bosmer, never a fan, but now its a toss up between the two!

Tbh thats my guess too, I assume most elder scroll players in the Usa, Europe, and Australia are White mostly because the majority of people who live in those countries are white. And they either want to role play someone who they look like and can empathize with or something completly exotic like an Elf or a Khajit. And Redguards just don't really give off that mythical fantasy vibe and I sort of see them as the token dark skinned race of TES.

I'm saying they now look like they're going to stick some bones through their noses and throw you in a huge cauldron.
They really look like stereotypical cannibals to me.
