The Return of Harold

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 9:42 pm

Last time we left our beloved Harold he had gone back to his roots. That is to say he was literally rooted in place by his companion Bob. Depending on your choice Harold is either alive and still rooted in place (you monster), or he is dead (you bastard). However it is still unacceptable to think this staple of the fallout universe will not return. That is why I speculate that Harold is in fact dead, however much as trees spread their seeds, so have Harold, and while we will not meet Harold again we will in fact meet his off spring, who have sprouted out of the ground in the wake of his demise.

BGS are more than welcome to pretend that whole Oasis Harold thing never happened.

Because that was awful.

I like the idea of Harold bearing fruit, and the fruit getting up and wandering off.

Harold was burnt to a crisp and finally put out of his misery.

I see.

In regards to the thread, I doubt we'll see him. Each game his condition worsened, so at this point he's likely completely absorbed by the FEV tree growing out of him. Poor guy.

Harold should stay in Oasis. His story is over, there's no reason to asspull him into Boston.

Just imagine, a secretive race of Pear-people, spawned from Harold, who dwell in the sewers, and they are all named Bob.

Harlord cameos are almost a tradition for fallout as much as M'aiq for TES, and while I am usually for maintaining traditions in this case I wouldn't really mind if Bethesda decided to not include him in Fallout 4

Agreed.

I loved Harold back in the day. But I'll be perfectly content if we never see him again.

I would like another oasis of some type. I would actually like a wasteland where nature had began to take back the ruins of the fragmented world.

Ad far as Harold returning I doubt it this is a new area with new stories. They could have an Easter egg referring to him but I doubt it.

That could work, imagine your delving into some long forgotten cave/vault(whatever) and you just hear in the distance, "Gary? Gaaaary!". *shivers*

That vault ugh. That was the most annoying part of the game for me.

Honestly, people seem to make a huge deal over most of what happened in Fallout 3... it's kinda funny to see all the salt and rage that flows over it.

Based on what I've read on these forums, I'm one of the few people who actually liked Fallout 3 :/

Maybe we get some rumours about a big forest in the DC area in F4

You're not alone. Fallout 3 gets way too much flak for not being "true" to the original series, when in fact it gave the series credibility and notoriety to begin with.

Yup. Usually when I say I like Fallout 3 I get the tired old "You clearly didn't play the originals" or "You played Fallout 3 first" replies. Nope, started with 2 (though I was about 7 at the time), then 1, then 3. Still prefer 3 and New Vegas to 1 and 2. People have a hard time grasping that not everyone shares their own subjective preferences.
