I like this explore music from Morrowind, and I wouldn't mind hearing it reprised in Skyrim.

That is all.

bear with me for a sec
how about something...new, we have already heard this, sure a modified form would be good, but we dont really need the exact same music in each game

The road less traveled is often the road most worthly.

For the love of Alduin, yes Morrowind was a great game but we don't need to see every darn aspect of it again. It did have its flaws.

If you have both games wouldn't you just be able to drag and drop that song into the Skyrim data folder (with the correct folder paths)?

Do we really want the same music from old games appea--OH MY GOD THIS TRACK IS SOOO GOOD.

Ahem.

Personally, I want the main theme to play during exploration. That's the theme that typically gets the most attention but then in Oblivion we only heard it at the start and then never again. In Morrowind, that song really touched me. I can't hear it without wanting to pick up a blade, put on some armor, and go exploring the universe. I'd like to hear it again in Skyrim.

But sometimes that road is less travelled because it leads to a bog, or a tofu shop, rather than the place you were trying to get to.

That is one of my favorite tracks from Morrowind, but it's Morrowind's, not Skyrim's. Plus, that wasn't an explore track. It was just a track that played wherever you were... as long as you weren't fighting. I love a lot of songs from previous Elder Scrolls games, such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2EbsfqhI2k, but would it fit in Skyrim? I think not. It's something uniquely tied to a vibrant, deciduous forest on a sunny day with the water in the distance reflecting the Imperial City and the sunlight as the sun begins to set, in my opinion. The Road Most Travelled is a theme I picture fitting in with a relatively barrren plain with only grass on it and a winding path cutting through with a silt strider calling out in the background.

Isn't that what TES is about though? Wondering around looking at this massive world you've been dumped in and getting lost only to find some epic location you never new existed? I'm not one for tofu, but hey...its food. :P

If we want to talk about nostalgic TES music, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWI1E3jx4pk&feature=related

My biggest changes would be to lose the frills on the lead...and obviously modernize the arrangement's sounds. We could also add in heavy bass drums during the jingling bells.

I have half the mind to remake this song myself. :)

The road most traveled is most traveled because it's familiar, comfortable and often the easiest. You often have to take the roads less traveled, though, to find the truly marvelous. (and I have first hand experience with that. Oh, look, a crowded tourist spot. What's that way over there off the beaten track where no one else is? It was awesome.)

I'd rather have orchestral renditions of the classic Elder Scrolls tunes.

That or that's the shop theme. I can never remember.

Soule serves his orchestral tableaux in various sauces, the main TES theme is essentially the same (though reharmonized and re-arranged for emphasis) but some of the Morrowind tracks do indeed remain ingrained in your mind....the woodwinds in the exploration tracks were used really well (Frank the bunny is somewhat "unnerving"..)

As much as I love Morrowind, I don't need Bethesda to reuse everything from it in Skyrim. Skyrim is, well, Skyrim, not Morrowind, just because something was used in Morrowind doesn't mean it will fit in Skyrim, this may also be true in music. Now, that's not to say one should never use the same music across multiple games, sometimes it can work, New Vegas for example seemed to put some music from previous Fallout games to good use, but for it to work, it requires that the music still be able to fit the atmosphere and feel of the place where it's used, and I'm not sure if this particular track would fit Skyrim. Besides, I always considered Morrowind's music to be pretty boring for the most part (The main theme being an exception.), certainly not terrible, but just kind of okay, and I don't really feel a strong urge to hear it in future games. Now, this song is probably one of the ones that stands out a bit more, still, I can't say I feel like I'll mis too much if I don't hear it again in Skyrim. I'm content to have all new music myself.

Make the composer work, after all he gets paid for it. I was actually thinking of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h4Re9w52Wc&feature=related when I posted...

Well, the theme in the trailer sounds suspiciously similar to Morrowind's theme (to me, anyway) so maybe there's hope.

Oblivion shares the same theme. It's an Elder Scrolls thing, not a Morrowind thing.

Yeah, I keep hearing that from people, but I personally can't hear it in Oblivion's theme itself. Maybe I'm just stupid like that.

Those all seem similar to me, or at least the intro.

Edit: Forgot Skyrim's theme.

Yes, it is the same. I think the terms are "Motivic material re-exposed in diminution" as opposed to augmentation.....shows my true nature really [sighs]

Edit: swapped the terms, whiskey kicking in again...

Yes but the Skyrim and Oblivion themes don't have the same slow-pace as Morrowind's. Which is why Morrowind's theme fits in with the explore music so well. Perhaps the "Dovahkiin!" chanting when in combat sometimes.
EDIT: Oh, you want the Morrowind theme in Skyrim. That's ok then, sorry I misread your post
