I'll be a much calmer and happier person when I am no longer bombarbed with this crap everywhere I turn. I threw up in my mouth when I learned theres a Monarchists League in Canada.

If this was a poll I would have to say once again

Where's the "I don't give a [censored]" option?

but since it's not I can only say "I don't give a [censored]."

Two random people whom I have never seen nor heard about before in my life and have no idea who they are are getting married and it's supposed to be ZOMGOMGMGZO0|\/|GZMOGMOZ because they're some crappy royalty. How can so many people in the world actually give a crap about this and we keep claiming that we've developed so much since the caveman era?

Should have joined us in killing redcoats.

And seriously, I wish they wouldn't cover this wedding. It's a distraction from more important issues and eats up resources. (both the media's financial and human resources and that of the taxpayers in the U.K)

Apparently its a big deal since we haven't seen one since Diana. But I'm sure Liz will outlive Charles and William.

I think I'd be more interested by watching a flower grow.

I think it's kind of cool that there is a royal wedding, and we get a new head of state, but I probably won't watch it as I will be celebrating being finished school.

I'm tired of hearing about this on American TV news channels. Royal monarchs weren't exactly the nicest rulers, so I dunno what the point of glorifying them is.

I don't understand the media frenzy about this - and I'm in the US. We kind of fought a war because we don't like monarchies.

Give me a republic any day of the week, and I'll show you where you can shove your "royalty"

I guess they are just celebrities, but it's pathetic how wrapped up people are getting in this. They are just two people, and I don't care about them, or their wedding, or their whole "royalty" schtick.

Kate Middleton went all horizontal with william, who's second in line to the throne and the subject of british tabloids.

Yes. I will be up all night watching it.
Plus I get to see some more of London. The last time I was there was a year ago.
I watched Diana's as well, and it was quite enjoyable.

Kate Middleton went all horizontal with william...

Hundreds of people all over the world do that every second.

Should that make me interested? Why?

So, I don't get it, is UK a democratic-ish monarchy? Not a republic, I don't think there are that many countries that actually are true republics (having "republic" in the country name doesn't make it a republic!). But, from my understanding, the monarch doesn't have the same power as, like, King George the 8th or Queen Victoria and the like. Do you get to vote for all your officials, or only some who then get to pick their own lackeys and croneys who aren't accountable to citizens?

EDIT: nevermind, I'll use wikipedia to research it. Let's not get into politics, I wouldn't want this thread to get closed.

I don't care, and more importantly, I'm annoyed that it gets more news coverage in the US than in the UK. That's a tad backwards.

Well actually it isn't, because from my experience the US media are crazier than any other media (no offence intended).
