The Runaways II

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:43 pm

Cyrus put down the plank and turned to his group.

"Okay guys I don't care how but we have to get out of here now!!!" Cyrus knew he couldn't take another minute of this crazy guild. He didn't know what they would do once they were out of the HQ. Perhaps they could run to the local guard and ask to be placed in some kind of witness protection program. But wait... that wouldn't work, they were already a bunch of runaways. Probably the only place the guard would wanna place them is in a nice cushy high security vault back in Alkatroz. Cyrus knew he wasn't goin back there, he even remembered some guy tried to jump him in the shower rooms once.

The only real thing they could do would be to lay low, maybe even try to buy passage out of the province. They could even make new names for themselves once they all escaped.

"Okay this way guys" Cyrus said beckoning his members to move forward. They then began up and down the halls of the dungeon, and the dungeon.... it was big. The dungeon they were in was like a maze because every turn led to a new hallway or a dead end. Cyrus was even sure that they had long passed the door that lead to the library, and the large amount of darkness didn't make it any easier to navigate.

After about an hour or two of moving Cyrus finally broke the silence. "By the divines." Cyrus said. "I've never seen such darkness before. Where are we anyways?" Cyrus the sweat off of his forehead. To Cyrus it really seemed the farther they traveled the hotter it got down there. Though to Cyrus it seemed he had been growing hot from exhaustion, they had been walking around for hours now and he really needed a rest.

Cyrus fell to the ground. "[censored], were gonna die down here aren't we?" Cyrus asked as he laid down on the floor. The cool dungeon breeze seemed to feel good on his tired body. He then starred blankly into the darkness for a few minutes before jumping back up to his feet. "Well I guess we aren't percentages of escaping aren't increasing if we just stand here." Cyrus said. "Hopefully we'll find some kind of exit, I mean how big could this place really be?" Cyrus asked.

"About 7 miles of dungeon crawling my good chap." A voice said from out behind Cyrus.

"Holy crap!!! What the hell was that" Cyrus said as he flipped around. He then turned and saw what he could barley make out as just another jail cell. "Who goes?" Cyrus asked into the darkness.

"Oh my I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself." the voice said. And then a ray of light burst through the jail cell and revealed the face of a dunmer. "My name is Thadas Andules. I have been trapped down here in these cells for many years now." The dunmer said as he held a large ball of light in his hand. The dunmer was very skinny, he looked like he hadn't been fed in days. Actually he more looked like he hadn't been cared for in years. He looked very rough and dirty and seemed very uncared for.

"So then" Cyrus began. "Can you tell us how to get out of here?" Cyrus asked the Dunmer.

"Yes...." The dunmer said.

"Now you want to escape?" Urdlin smacked himself in the head, "I'm relieved someone with decisiveness of your caliber was designated our leader."

"He's not our leader." Qa'shirr protested, "We don't work for Black Inc., remember?"

"Hey, that's right." Lin agreed, "We never signed any verbal, written or even remotely implicit contracts. Now....which way leads out?"

After an impossibly long time travelling through corridor after stony corridor, echoing with the complaints and arguments of Qash and Lin, Qash finally remarked, "At this rate, we should have just escaped through the window in the Book Master's office."

Lin sighed angrily, "I forgot about that, why didn't you remind us?"

"I didn't think it was feasible. He wouldn't just let us smash through his window, would he?"

"Well, what's he going to do, call the guards on us?! By Sithis, Qash..."

As the dungeon became warmer, it was Qa'shirr who felt the worst of the effects, and Lin was forced to help him steady with one arm over his shoulder, "Why are we still walking? Are we going in circles? What sane person would build a dungeon this big?"

His questions went unanswered though, as they encountered the jailed dunmer.

Urdlin thought for a moment, "If you know how to get out of here, then why haven't you escaped yet?"

Qash rolled his eyes, "Because he doesn't have the key to the jail cell, Lin."

"Key? Who needs a key? Pick the man loose, Qash."

"Pick? I don't have a pick. We just got out of prison."

"Then just find a piece of metal with a crook at the end. Didn't you say you once picked a lock with your own fingernail?"

"Yes, but that was an older lock..."

"This one looks pretty old. And he says he's been down here for years. Here, take a key I found on one of the legionnaires."

"I think that's just an imperial watch key. It won't open this cell."

Lin was beginning to lose his patience, "Break off the end and use it as a pick!"

"Oh. Sorry." He did so and bent the end so it became a makeshift lockpick. "This shouldn't be difficult." With that, he began to unlock the Dunmer's cell.

After Saul got his equipment, he had followed Cyrus and the group, for hours, it felt that they were in circles, all the while when in the dungeon, the whole walk in darkness, Saul thought about what happened, how'd he get caught up with runaways, as far as Saul knew, he wasnt wanted, he was now just another mercanary looking for his big break. when the Dunmer showed his face and spooked Cyrus, the surround area around him and the runaways lit up around them.

"Hello dunmer... Andules? am i correct? anyway, if you can help us, i... we, would really Apreciate" Saul said
"Hey Cyrus... as i say, you are the wanted men, i am in no trouble at all, so i dont have a bounty on my head like you all do, so im safe... when we get out of here im leaving, on to Morrowind, theres more work there then there is here i think... but, i will help you guys get out, whatever you want, i will help... maybe... but in the meantime lets get the hell out of here, i was starting to learn how to see in the dark then this s'wit lit up the dungeon... sorry by thr way Mr. Andules... but... nevermind" Saul said again

Saul began to walk around in the dark, he started crawling, in search of an old peice of wood he could use as a torch, quickly he found something, he grabbed ot and walked back toward the light, on it was a long staff like stick with a skinned orc head that seemed to look like it had been decomposed completely years ago, Saul then found an old oil lamp on the ground near him, he broke the vial within the lamp and poured it on the decomposed orc head.

"Can you light this up for me" Saul said to the dunmer, he did what Saul asked then Saul started walking along a dark hall way, burning stuff he'd find laying on the ground as a pathway so the group can find him or they could find Saul.

Saul walked back toward the group, looked up and down then spit out saliva on the ground hitting his own shoe and caused him to curse a name

OOC: You know guys i am feeling a little disapointed by the number of posters who have yet to post in the thread. I am Walrus, Dragon reaper, Darkom, Jonasvault, Alkulass, and Rock and Rolla never even joined up. If you guys really don't find this interesting then we can stop.

ooc: Honestly, it's not that I've lost interest... it's that I'm not sure how to react to the fact that you pretty much nixed the entire first thread as "non-canon". Everything we knew about Black Inc up until this point is wrong? Well, then what about our characters' reactions to that? Was that non-canon too? It's usually not a very good idea to change important plot details after they've been introduced... highly immersive RPers like myself won't know what to do with it. That may be part of the problem.

I doubt it. I mentioned that in this thread and everyone has posted up till now. no this was before that, i even had to constantly pester darkom and jonas to post. So it can't be that it has to be people losing interest.

Now for me. I don't really care. I'm actually at that point where I just got an idea for an even better RP but i'm stuck with this one. And for the the new rp i was gonna make ive already written up an outline so i won't have constantly think up plot details on the spot. If you guys really don't wanna do this then we can start a different RP. Hell you can even reuse your old characters if you wish.

OOC: Really? What's it about? My Dark Bros might get carried over if it's good, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.

Well, I had been meaning to revive Baal, but it seems too late now. I suppose I owe at least an explanation for my lack of posting.

Indeed; I loved my character to death and would have gladly lasted out a whole RP with him, but between Aula's inability to post (he is going through family troubles, so don't blame him) and some of the turns this took I didn't really have the desire to post again. Aulakauss was never even given an oppurtunity to respond to any of the situations, as soon as I would post you would give a response, and in a way that effectively blocked him from doing anything with Karst. I could have handled that, but when you controlled both our characters so heavily as to make them drink drugged wine from a stranger I had no idea how to respond. Not only was it completely out of Baal's character, but also effectively shut down my ability to post much of anything. Now, you do have the authority to do that as the OP, but that doesn't mean it is a good idea.

I hope I don't come across as complaining or ranting, because I am not. I am just as responsible, if not more so, for my posting, so I am not blaming you. All I ask is that you learn from this experience, acknowledge that you could have handled a few things better hosting wise, and I'm sure your next RP will be much more successful. You did a pretty good job for your first time here (your RP did better than mine is, at least), but you still have room to improve, just like any of us.

Not caring is not a good way to go about hosting an RP. If you didn't care about this RP, why bother doing it in the first place? What's to say that you won't do the same thing with your next RP? The only way to keep your RPs from dying again and again is to change how you do things. I am very excited to see that you are now deciding to make a plot outline, which I think will help tremendously. I know I always nag on this one as well, but I think improving your grammar will make people take you much more seriously.

Thank you for the fun RP, and good luck with your new one :goodjob:
