8.5 to 9; Brink only has good developers behind it, reviewers will descriminate because it's not a franchise :(

The poll has a 1.0 - 1.5 option. It also has a 9.5 - 10 option.

Not always the case. I believe it will be more "does this game break the mold or bring something new to the genre" than based on it being a franchise or not. Then you have IGN who will be "how much money did they pony up for a good review?"

XD

IGN = IGNorant, reviews from them mean nothing really. I only really trust Rotten Tomatoes & Metacritic.

Metacritic of 86 would be my guess. A lot of people will 'get' Brink pretty easily, there will always be those outlets who simply don't like anything outside the standard formula. Personally I'm expecting to find the first dozen hours or so pretty hard going. I'm a Call of duty/Battlefield gamer, Brink is a different beast and will take some adapting to, so I expect to struggle for a while until I get a feel for the game, but I'm confident that when I do I'll really enjoy it. Not all media outlets will give Brink enough time to get into before simply dismissing it. So for every couple of 8's or 9's I expect to see a 6 or 7.

Why isn't there a "I don't care, I'm going to play it anyway" option?

Who the bloody hell picked 1.0 - 1.5 we must find him, drag him thru the streets on a dark rainy day and execute him in front of his family

I don't see this game getting anything below a 7.5, I'm guestimating it will be in the higher 8.5 - 9.0 range.

I think the highest it might get is 9.0, but that is incredibly good so whatever.

again, this game is mostly online oriented and as such that kind of game rarely scores well. brink does however feature a story so that may alter things dependant on how good said story actually is...but don't expect 9's, 7-8 is realistic.

someone seriously put a 1 on the poll, GTFO lol. I believe if the reviewer is truly giving his opinion and not being fed a rating from IGN or something, he'll give it a high rating. Seen mainstream reviewers rate certain games low just so a game coming out a week or 2 later looks super good cuz it got a higher rating...politics :(

8.5 to 9.0.

It wont reach a ten because [censored] in an office will write a review stating its not got realistic character models in it.

'guestimating' isn't a real word. It's not even shorter than the word it is replacing.
I'm afraid that there will be plenty of reviewers who will see it and mark it like this:

-1 (it's not photo-realistic)
-1 (it's not a very well known title)
-1 (it's not one massive team deathmatch)

It won't get a 10 because Gabe Newell's name isn't in the credits. But I'm gonna say around a 9.

what @snowpetrol said I think is completely true cause reviewers will rate it with some minus marks because of those reason and also they might even give another minus because the campaign is based around the MP or that the 2 are basically one and the same....
but what @nepalm said, why isn't there just a "I don't care I'm getting it anyways" button
