Is the season pass included in the Pip-Boy edition?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:30 am

I didn't think the season pass was included, but after perusing some unboxing videos of the Pip-Boy edition I've seen a leaflet that looks like the season pass in all of them.I'm presuming it's just advertising for the season pass but does anyone know with any certainty?

Just to confirm, https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/660099087958712320 on Twitter: "it's an ad for the season pass. not a season pass"

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/660222663978311680: "not included unless you bought a bundle a retailer put together that includes both"

For the price it really should be included. Unfortunately it's not.

The price is the collectible Pip-Boy. If the Pip-Boy toy isn't worth the cost of the product minus the cost of the game, then don't buy that edition of the game.

This is nothing new - most companies don't include season's passes in their Collector's Edition.

It's not a rip off - they're not going to just give you the season's pass for free.

Bethesda's DLC's are usually pretty significant and well worth the price, more so than most other games.

I contacted them directly about this and there was nothing. It's not included with it, but of course it would be nice.

Gutted, you would have thought Bethesda wouldn't be so tight with these things.

Let's go back to the 90s. Your favorite game - months or a year or more later - MIGHT release an expansion disk, with extra missions or levels. You'd buy that as a separate product, as an add-on to the game you already bought. Many even came in a nice box.

Nowadays, DLC is often expected. The good thing is that Bethesda likes making DLC and when they do, it's generally fairly substantial. So the idea of a Season's Pass is really just that a company knows they're going to create that DLC, instead of having the question mark. And the Season's Pass is to save you the hassle of keeping track when new DLC comes out, and is meant to save you a small amount of money if you buy it in advance.

There's no reason that people should expect to receive DLC for free.

Yes... My problem is whether or not I should just get a $50 steam card from eBay and just only pay $5 for the pass... As I have quite a few eBay buck that expire today

Thanks for clearing that up, folks. I was curious about the DLC as well.

I'll be getting it regardless but a little extra in the Pip Boy Edition would have been nice.

I never expected it to be anything more than a collectors edition with some swag items, the season pass is just an extra expense later on.

Whilst we're on the subject, for my own curiosity, has Bethesda ever released a seasons pass before ? Pre-game ?
