I've always preferred the Dunmer both lorewise and gameplay-wise. In terms of gameplay, the Dunmer are extremely well-rounded, able to fit into any role effortlessly. And lore wise they're simply very unique to TES. We see similar cultures to the Nords in so many other fantasy franchises, but the Dunmer are something unique.

I like Bretons and Redguards (weird mix, I know), but Dunmer are my third favourite.
And for the sake of the argument, what's not to like about them. They're dark and mysterious, unneringly cool, and are masters with the blade, magic, AND the bow.
Nords (although I probably like them 4th

) are more like average swordsmen who happen to be big and burly.

im not gonna let my altmer love turn me into a total snob like i have in other polls and threads so ill play nice and stick with my options i guess i have to go with the dunmer because i always pick elves over humans in games and since the dunmer is the only elf i have to pick from in this poll it wins

They're racist jerks and up until the time of Oblivion, they were slavers, and they're elves. As far as I see it, that's all the reason anyone needs not to like them to me. Not much of a fan of Nords either, but they're better than Dunmer at least since they're just bland and cliche. They don't appeal to me, but they're fairly harmless. So for me, Nords win by being the less unappealing option.

DUNMER!!!! Just look at my sig... I have an ~~obsession~~ ardent fascination with the dunmer, but I swear its all healthy.

I love Nords too though, my favourite human race...though I never play as them since I am without fail always a pure magic user. :mohawk:

Since I like playing mages I've always liked playing Breton's.

But between Nords and Dark Elves, I'd go with Dark Elves, cause they seem to be the Jack of all trade race.

Out of the two dunmer are my favorite. I like elves and dunmer make really nice melee/magic characters. I have fond memories of casting fireballs and bashing enemies, then levitating off on my merry way. Nords make a close second, because http://lovkullen.net/Emma/Vilja.htm is a nord. Vilja makes me like nords, Vilja will make anybody like nords. Seriously if you haven't played that mod you are missing out!

Nords simply because they are my favorite and aren't Mer, never liked any of the Mer races except Dwemer but we can't play as them.
