I love this series. By the way, Incognitiojoe, are you the same Incognito on Youtube that orbitally bombed the Annoying Guy?

So I've finally got some inspiration to make another chapter. I will continue this until my new story is ready to be posted, meaning this will be locked. But don't worry, I will still be working on this one in unison with my new story that should be posted sometime this week or next?

Chapter 3: The Hunt

Leo rested in the prone position, his new Dragunov at the ready as he scanned the ruins for any Enclave movement. His PPSh rested beside him, while he waited for something to happen. The sky was clear now, and a shadow was casted onto the ruined building Leo was sniping from. He had the perfect advantage over the incoming Enclave hit squad, his rifle was able to do some serious damage froma distance, and hopefully his PPSh would do some serious damage up close. As the sun moved across the sky, Leo was about ready to find a new sniping position, when suddenly through the empty motionless ruins, he saw his targets. There were four soliders dressed in a strange uniform, Leo had never seen before. They seemed to be in command of th whole thing, ordering the bigger bulkier soliders clad in Power Armor to spread out and watch. Luckily for Leo, they would never see him coming.

He quickly brought the Dragunov around, bringing his sights on the first Enclave soldier with no bulky Power Armor. He zoomed in a bit to get a clean shot. The soldiers were clueless to Leo's position, when suddenly the Dragunov rang out. The rifle sound echoed through the empty buildings, making it impossible for the Enclave soldiers to pin-point Leo directly. Blood misted from the Enclave soldiers head as the bullet came out the other end, causing an even bloodier explosion. Brain and skull matter covered the Enclave soldier beside the lifeless soldier, Leo had just downed. Before two other soldiers dressed in the uniforms could make a move for cover, Leo took them out with great accuracy. Blood misted like the one before them, causing brain and skull matter to cover the ruins. Blood seeped from their heads, their eyes were rolled back in their heads. Leo smiled as he took aim for a Enclave soldier clad in Power Armor, who was taking cover behind some cracked fallen wall.

The others were keeping their heads down. But this Enclave soldier was nervous and probably didn't realize Leo could see his entire face when he poked his head up. Before Leo took his shot, the Enclave soldiers began firing erraticly. None of their plasma rifles came close to Leo, most just flew over his head hitting bits of rock and debris. One round was lucky enough to hit a lone Mole Rat, turning the poor creature into a green, sticky looking goo. Leo took careful aim at the Enclave soldier that continued to pop his head up. Leo wasn't sure if he could pierce the armor, and wasn't going to take the chance of having to waist two shots on the nervous soldier. He zoomed in as close as he could, aiming for the yellow eye that kept showing itself to, Leo.

Suddenly a shot rang out, the Dragunov kicking a bit as the bullet flew through the air, piercing the Enclave soldiers yellow eye. The body fell backwards, The sound of brain and skull matter exploding inside the helmet echoed for a moment as the remaining Enclave soldiers gathered their things, and started to retreat back to where they had come from. Leo was ready to take another shot, but none of the soldiers would reveal their faces towards him.

When the soldiers were out of firing range, Leo got up and wiped his face of the dirt he had covered it in to make him less noticable. Before he left, he grabbed his PPSh, slinging it to his side as he traversed his way down the ruined building finally making it to the ground. He took a sigh of relief, and opened the door leading outside. He poked his head out, making sure no Enclave or wasteland [censored] was around to take a shot at him. When he felt the scene was safe, he quickly ran across the street towards another building. The sun was starting to go down, Leo determined it was around four o' clock or a bit later as he started towards the "Raider camp" where he was to report back in to, Palkov.

The day was already seemingly in his favor. He had taken out almost all of the Enclave hit squad, and had found no wastelander trying to kill him. Minsk seemed a little bright to Leo, the buildings didn't seem so drab and grey anymore. As he walked through the ruins, he thought about the new Red Army, and that it could be possible to bring the Soviet Union back to the way it was. If the Enclave was as big of a push over as he had just seen, then this "Silent War" would be over before the Enclave could even move into any major city or village. Leo liked the idea of becoming a great sniper, not that he already wasn't, but becoming a great sniper in the Red Army took time. He had read about early Soviet snipers in a book he and Tania found in a burned out building. It had names and some pictures of famous Soviet snipers, possing with their rifles. Leo thought that one day he would be in a book, and have his picture taken. That is if the Red Army or anywhere in Minsk was capable of taking a picture.

But as Leo thought about his career in the new Red Army, a bullet wizzed by his head, knocking him out of his thoughts and sending him towards cover. He looked around, seeing no one in the buildings that stood above him. Another bullet wizzed by, hitting the top of the cement slab that Leo had taken cover behind. He grabbed his PPSh, not sure how close or far the sniper was. But before Leo could look, a voice boomed through the ruins.

"Surrender Red Army, dog! This is not your territory. Leave now and you won't be shot!" The voice said in a bit of a slure. It was obviously a man's voice as it had that deep sound that no woman could make or sound like. Leo turned around and looked slowly over the cement slab, seeing some men and women dressed as Raiders laughing and waving their hands at him. It wasn't any enemy, it was just some drunk Red Army [censored]s playing with him. Leo was quickly infuriated, and stood up revealing himself to the sniper that now stood laughing with the others.

"[censored] you, [censored]s. I just saved your asses, now show some respect!" Leo said stomping over to the building. He walked up the steps, sometimes having to crawl up a rope ladder to get to the floor the Red Army soldiers were on. When he got there, they were still laughing. There was a woman and two men standing together, pointing and holding their sides as the laughed at Leo. The first man, the one who had yelled towards Leo was tall and strong. The other who had shot at Leo was not so tall and strong. Both were dark skinned and dirty. The woman had dirty brown hair, and dark skin as well. Leo walked over to the taller and stronger looking man, with no emotion on his face as the man stood up, wiping the tears from his eyes, trying not to laugh.

Suddenly, Leo brought his Dragunov around and smacked the man in the stomach with the butt. The man doubled over, holding his stomach as he fell to the ground. The hit had knocked the wind out of him, and he was gasping for air. The shorter and not nearly as strong looking as the other man, rushed towards Leo, but was cracked over the side of the face with the butt of the Dragunov. Leo started laughing, he was laughing uncontrolably as the two men layed there in pain. The woman looked at Leo, and was prepared to attack before Leo unholstered his "Viking" and aimed it at her head.

"Show some respect of the man who just kept a Enclave patrol from coming here, and turning you all into green goo." Leo said spotting the small radio. The tall man stood up, ready to attack Leo but was not wanting to get hit a second time. The woman calmed down and laughed a bit at her two comrades who had been smacked around. Leo ignored them and tuned the radio frequency to the one Palkov had given him. The two men walked to their corner, resting on their matresses as the woman grabbed a bottle of beer. She grabbed another, offering it to Leo in silence, but Leo refused as he finally got the radio tuned into the frequency.

"This is Comrade Volsky, are you there Comrade Palkov?" Leo said turning his back to the woman and the others.

"This is Comrade Palkov, good to hear your voice, Leo. Return to base, and get some rest. Your training will begin tomorrow if that is alright with you?"

"No problem at all, Cromade Palkov." Leo said looking menicingly at the two men still recovering from their blows. The radio went silent, and Leo let himself out, making his way through the ruins back to base. The sun was getting more and more less visible, quickly hidding behind some ruined buildings as the sudden sound of motors echoed through the ruined buildings. Leo looked around, then quickly saw a large figure in the sky. He took cover inside a nearby building, still keeping an eye on the large figure in the sky. Before he knew it, the figure revealed itself. It was a large flying machine, Leo had never seen one in real life, but had heard there were flying machines before the bombs fell. He watched in astonishment as it made two quick passes then left. Leo slowly walked out of the building, and continued on his way to base. He would have to report his new discovery to Palkov when he returned.

I didn't really like this chapter as much as the others. It seemed like the bridge to a much more interesting one, though.
