After killing all the Van Graffs I got to loot the entire Silver Rush, and make a ton of money. But my lockpick skill is only a 55 and you need a 75 or higher to unlock the safes in the back room. Is it worth boosting my skill next level up? Or is this one of those typical fallout tricks where you finally get in, and it has like scrap metal?

One of them has a quest item. Other one, don't remember.
