The Sky Fleet...

Only 103 years after the end of the Oblivion Crisis, Tamriel's economy excelled. With Ocato taking place as Emporer his army expanded into all other countries, simply peacful reinforcement, the Khajiit's of Elsweyr had never been more peaceful, the miners of Morrowind all hit massive deposites, sold their profits and became a very rich country, and one Redoran ex-miner Dunmer organised an archaelogical dig into a Dwemer Ruin.

"Legends told of a huge deposit of Ebony ore, I read it in a book once y'know." -: Dunmer Archaeologist to the Redoran Council.

After the Council financed it, the Dunmer and his team found not a deposit in that ruin, but something better, a Dwemer experiment room, schematics were found, along with tools to make all the lost race's contraptions. Granted absolute power, The Archaeologist, the name he was only known as now, was given a spot on the Redoran Council for his immense bravery and loyalty, but with this great power he began to slip deeper into madness...
Found:
...htbulb complete with schematics: Contraption used for lighti...
Schematics: Skyship (high priority to keep.)

-:Part of a worn list created by The Archaeologist.

Much intrest was taken in this 'Skyship' until finally The Archaeologist hired (or forced) one of the greatest craftsmen and wizards to make it for him. The huge balloon on the top was enchanted with a levitation enchantment and the broad undersie of it was a great ship, one meant for the sea, but one destined for the sky...

It took a half a year to make one but gradually took less time to make as The Archaeologist ordered more and more to be made, calling them:
'a reveloution in new warfare...'
Eventually, group of Legion soldiers sent to Morrowind as some the reinforcements were able to take one on test flight, they were however not heard of again in Morrowind until later that year. They in fact went to Ocato to report the ship, he was outraged that the House Councils had kept them from him, and so ordered one hundred ships be created.
After the several years that the considerably smarter and faster Imperial 'Ship-masters' (as they were now named) had made the ships Ocato wanted, but he too had gone mad with power, and launched a full scale arial assault on Morrowind, meanwhile, in Morrowind, a spy had returned from Cyrodiil and told The Archaeologist (now a well aged man of 49) about the invasion force, he too was furious and ordered his soldiers to ready the shiips and fight back...

Ehhh.. This seems... meh. It looks interesting, and would be if given more depth, but basically all you've put out for us is constant fighting.. No second chances? Players should be able to take control of another crew member if their character dies.

The story seems roughly stuck together, and without more depth it'll fall apart, especially with nothing to do other than fight enemy soldiers.

Fair enough Walrus, how about you can't stay on the same ship for three of your own posts and the objective, hmm...maybe to take down The Archaeologist / Ocato and they're on the biggest and most armoured ship, left at the back for the final battle?

Even with a goal for killing the enemy leader, more or less it's still just a war rp.

RPs are about roles. Your character is your role, so you must build up your character by talking to those of others. War in an RP is no bad thing, but it is difficult for most people to write, and not as entertaining as drama and intrigue.

War RPs, although I haven't ever participated in one, are really iffy. War RPs are usually just confusing and repetitive, so I don't think many people will want to play one. There are some good war rps, some are pulled off excellently, but that is only by extremely skilled RP makers.

It won't just be, 'I killed him, then him...' its got twist's and turns to it, I mean, battles in the sky, suspended over clouds by an enchanted balloon, if someone cuts the ropes you gotta get outta there fast, and you can literally man an entire Skyship, your limitations are your own.

Yeah but it's still war, no matter what cool scenes you have. There needs to be a definite plot, something the RP'ers want to achieve. And I suggest you do not make it all fighting.

That's for you to decide. I found the original idea good, even with poor grammar, but after seeing how the entire story was just to be war... It simply does not work as well here. Everyone here is a talented writer who wants to see character and plot, not just action. Fight scenes can make stories good, but unless there is chance for the characters to interact and make choices, then the RPers find it boring. Take a look at other RPs, the most succesful hardly have any combat at all. Although there are instances where fighting is necessary, it does not make a story.

If you want some ideas on how you could turn Dwemer skyships fighting each other into a story, then you have to sit back and think. Describe the history more too, because it seems like it is just "Dunmer find skyship plans, dunmer make skyship, Ocato make skyship, fight!" One fun thing to do in RPs is political stuff. You have loads of oppurtunities to have there be an arms race, like a Tamriel cold war between Cyrodiil and Morrowind. Use that chance to make this a good story. The fighting can be the end of the RP, but it needs something beforehand to get us interested.

PS A Dunmer is not well aged at 49.

EDIT: Which explains run on sentances and over use of commas. Sorry if I sounded condescending.

even with poor grammar

Yu quiant meh chu spek lik gal? (note: that is an example of applying Gaelic pronounciation rules to English, as not everyone here is a native speaker of English)

Well, can some-one PM me with help on the plot.

Consider it done ;)
