hiya, I saw the 1st incarnation of this thread, but never got around to posting. I loved the idea though. I'm not one for updating very much, prefer to play instead.
I was looking for some way to make Master harder'n this was perfect. That said, I just died :(

Name: Harle
Born: about a week ago!
Race: Breton
six: female
Style: Sneaky 2h. Bow & Greatsword sneak attacks. Light armor (Glass).
Died: Was 2-hit by some magical Ice turret thing, south of Riften, going up a path to (presumably) a dragon summit place.
Lvl: 61

Totally unexpected :(
It was like getting hit by that Frozen Orb spell from D2. Slows your movespeed, shards everywhere, couldn't even react to it because I was too close to the turret, lol.

Anyway, I'll be starting a new one again.
Same name.
Race: Khajiit
six: female
Style: necro/mage. Conjuration focus.

I wanna try using the followers this time. Have yet to drag Lydia (or any of the others) anywhere. The AI annoyed me with Barthas, so I never bothered.

I'm still plugging along with my main, but all of you that have been doing DiD have inspired the heck out of me (as well as entertaining the heck out of me), so allow me to throw my hat in the ring.

Name: Skjalda Ottosdottar
Race: Nord (female)
Age: 30-ish
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Job Description: Warrior (2-handed axe and heavy armor)

You could feel the winds of change the season Father disappeared. The Imperials had bent their knee to the Thalmor, but here in Skyrim things weren’t so bad. We were far enough away that we could continue unmolested in the old ways. The ways of our fathers and grandfathers. The ways of honor.

Mother and I were out on the hill, tending our goat herd the day Father disappeared. He was a devout worshipper of Talos, so you can see where this is going. When we got home, the house was a mess, all of Father’s books were gone as was Father himself. The bloodstains all over said that he didn’t go easily. Kicked into a corner, we found an elvish glove so we knew one of the Thalmor “Heretic Squads” had taken him. We were pretty sure he was dead or soon would be--nobody has ever come back once the Thalmor have taken them away.

Mother’s mind snapped, so I asked our nearest neighbor to keep an eye on her in return for what was left of our furnishings, our goats and our crops. I took Mother’s old armor and weapons and hit the road looking for revenge.

I wandered around for a while and every Thalmor I came across wound up dead. I asked every one of them for some word of my father, but all I got was a lot of elvish BS for my troubles. I guess at some point my travels dipped me down over the border into Cyrodiil, because I found myself at the border crossing attempting to re-enter Skyrim. I was traveling along with some fellow Nords and suddenly it was like we got hit with a wall of Imperials. Next thing I knew, I’m loaded up on a cart heading for my own funeral. That’s when things got...interesting.

Imperials and Thalmor. *spit* They have a love of fancy armor and ordering everyone else about like a lackey in common. I have no use for either and any one of them that crosses my path is either going to wind up shorter or with a splitting headache.

I'm thinking of retiring Urma Gorku. He's a master smith now. He has a full set of dragonplate armour for himself, with a spare set of Daedric armour stored away. He also has a full set of dragonscale armour for Aela. He's already harbinger of the Companions (seriously, took me about 4 hours to get there, if that - what happened to fleshed out quest lines and stories for guilds), and none of the other guilds really appeal to him too much. Just seems like the right time to retire him.

Decided to stick with S'Thassa's build, although I'm going to end up dropping a boatload of cash into skills I will never actually use as I have to get into the low 70s to get all the required perks.

She's level 60+ now, but still hasn't reached Winterhold. :blush2:

Decided to meet with the Greybeards first, and between clearing out areas along the way and then exploring the area around Ivarstead, she racked up a ton of levels. At something of a plateau now, since there are only a couple of remaining skills I will actually have a use for (Lockpicking and Alteration, primarily, though neither will get perked), however that's actually a good thing since it means I can completely control my leveling rate from here on out, save for the occasional book or lock.

Still debating about gear enchantments; Fortify Marksman is a given, of course, but deciding between Fortify Conjuration and Magic Resistance isn't so straightforward. If I get the drop on Mages (and I almost always do) they don't get to blast me, however Dragons usually get at least a few shots in and they hurt; at the same time, when I summon something said Dragons tend to fixate on it even while I'm ventilating them at range, but I don't need summons in dungeons save for the rare multi-critter ambush. I can't do both, since they share slots with Fortify Marksman and that's staying, but I don't particularly want to carry around a second suit of armor. If only high-tier Summons weren't so damned expensive to cast...

Name: Quick-Strike
Race: Male Argonian
Born: 4E 181
Died: 4E 201, 20th of Last Seed
Level 8

He was a great Argonian. He fought and killed 1 dragon. Quick-Strike fought using the medium armor provided by the Imperial Legion, and he preferred an Imperial sword to impale his foes upon. He fought to put down the Stormcloak rebellion. He died whilst defending Whiterun from the rebel invasion. He will be missed in the on-going civil war.

Name: Vondred
Level: 40
Race: Dunmer
six: Male
Born: Uknown
Died: Still going.

I don't have a back story. I just wanted to test my self with this challenge. This is the same character I put in DID 1 actually. I came on here to let everyone know that I JUST hit 40. There was a point to where I was in the middle of battle, and a Hunter came up to me and started a dialog -- I died while he was talking, from a Giant. I assume that is an exception, it was out of my hands, So I reloaded.

Sidenote: When you guys enter a dungeon, you really need to focus downward on traps. That's saved me numerous times. Also, don't take a companion. From my first character, she got me killed A LOT. Also I'm playing this on Adept. I figure it's fair enough for my first challenge in TES ever. Thanks for the great idea! I'll post a pic when the end finally comes.

RIP

Magnus the Mage II
Born: unknown
Died: unknown
Level: 5
Cause of death: Ice wraith

Magnus happened into an ice wraith on his way to the school of magic. He walked over the crest of a snowy hill as he saw solders falling to their deaths. Lacking any common sense he decided to charge into the fray only to be face to face with an ice wraith. One hit later Magnus fell to his death.

If I hadn't been sprinting, my companion might have fired a warning bow shot toward the wraith to give me some warning of what was to come. I need to remember to stay at range in dangerous situations and to keep my companions close at hand.

Just a quick update.
Ive gotten my latest character to level 27 on master difficulty.
Completed the companions and reunification of skyrim quests.
Not sure if I should continue until magic resistance is patched though, Its a scary place out there when a 20hr+ character can get wiped out in a single spell......

My Nord, Skjalda, is going to have to wait awhile. I started a Khajiit instead. :D Allow me to introduce:

Name: Herro K'iti
Race: Khajiit (male)
Age: He's not quite sure or, at least, not admitting that he is.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Skills: Sneaking, archery, one-handed, light armor

To be honest, I don't know how far he'll get. Being a light armor/one-handed kind of guy, I'm worried the first dragon will make short work of him, but maybe some careful sneakery and bow work will get him through. So far he's at level 3, made it to Whiterun and gotten the quests to go search for a golden claw and a certain stone. He's taken down a few bandits and cleared a mine, so......we'll see how far he makes it. I kind of like this as a change--personally, I prefer heavy armor/battle-axe--so sneaking and sniping is a nice change. He's a little upset about everyone assuming he's a thief and is determined to change their minds through his actions; he's not going to allow other people's treatment of him to give him an easy excuse for turning to a life of crime. He is a little amazed by how much certain people like him--a number of bandits like him *so* much, they want to make a rug out of him. He blames his choice of conditioner for his sixy, desirable kitten-soft fur.

RIP Shadowbane - Level 7

Name: Shadowbane
Born: 18th of Last Seed, 4E 201
Died: 24th of Last Seed, 4E 201
Race: Khajiit
six: Male
Specialty: Hunter, Thief

Shadowbane was struck down in battle by a named bandit in Cracked Tusk Keep.

What fun. Adds a great dimension to the game. No more charging into battle because you can simply load a save game. You have to be careful and that makes it more fun, more challenging.

I
like the explanation for the khajiit bandit taunts, perhaps consider using less conditioner then they wont all be chasing you for your fur.

I've decided to start my DID character for skyrim, I tried this in NV and it was a whole lot of fun. I love the tension it brings to the game.

My character

Name Mordain L'Fey (an alias she uses)
Class Thief
Age 30 something
six Female
Race Breton

An educated upper class thief who doesn't do petty crimes and a social climber. She was given a false lead to a valuable artifact and was captured near the border along with the stormcloaks. If it hadn't of been for that stupid thief and his horse she would have got away. "Quick up on the horse with me he says" The darn thing wouldn't budge. She couldn't help thinking the imperials at the border were paid to keep a lookout for her, she had enemies and she was not on the list. Maybe lookout for a thieves guild, a place to stay until she'd got contacts and accumulated some wealth. Then who knows maybe get in good with the court at Solitude.

Hopefully she wont end up dead in a ditch somewhere.

This is so much fun with an Orc, the very (ridiculously) overpowered boss fights are, with the berserk power, much more balanced. Playing on master difficulty at all times, currently level 21. Full melee, so smithing is quite high. Currently got full orcish stuff, but a dwemer mace (more damage) and an ebony shield.

So, lost knife hideout. Very full of bandits, even an arena of sorts where they pit animals or something similar. Got past that part, used my berserk power to survive. Objective met: find an amulet of zenithar and bring it back to an argonian. Next room after the arena pit, I go back to the huge cave with a 30-50 meter (100-150 feet) drop down to water below. I had no idea how deep that water was. Well, the real situation got started when two bandit plunderers attack me, both with greatswords! They quickly take down my health and force me to use healing potions.. Which are nearly out! Unable to find an escape, I take a leap of fate and jump down, falling fast. I had no option, staying there would have gotten me killed and I had to act fast. Drastic measure, moment of truth.. The water is barely deep enough for me to survive the fall, if I'd have fallen just two-three feet deeper, I would have hit the bottom! I take a run for it and survive. My HP was, at the time I jumped, around 30% so they must have hit me one last time before I got out of range and started falling. That was intense! Those moments make you appreciate D.I.D playthroughs very much. (thanks for reading my story) :foodndrink:

Herro K'iti, the chaotic good Khajiit, still survives, surprising me a little. He's returned the claw to its "rightful" owner (Herro is still more than a little curious how some Trader in a backwoods town acquired such an object) and brought the stone back to the Jarl. Herro was a little miffed at the sheer weight of the thing--he likes to travel as lightly as possible except when hauling in loot to sell.

Helping a Jarl has its good points--Herro now owns a home of his own and through the sweat of the pads on his wee feet, has managed to get it fully decked out. Being a cat, he doesn't plan on spending a lot of time there. His accomplishments so far:

Spoiler
Bleak Falls Barrow has been cleared, the Golden Claw and the Dragonstone brought back for their respective owners. Breezehome has been bought and pimped out to the max. And his first dragon has been killed curtesy of standing in a tower gap and plugging the silly thing with arrows. Kitties, I have discovered, do not like fire at all--even working from a distance cost me every minor healing potion in his stock. :( Making some health potions is high on his priority list. He visited Jorrvaskr and belted Vilkas a few times, becoming a whelp Companion in the process.

Most fun thing to date: brawling. Herro's first official task was to intimidate Sigurd, Belethor's wood-chopping assistant. For someone that supposedly helps Belethor in his shop, Sigurd spends a huge amount of time chopping wood. In spite of his daily work-outs, brawling with a non-declawed-kitty wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. A few quick punches left the task finished. When it came time to help Camilla, well....let's just say Mikhail (sp?) won't be singing too well out of a punched mouth for a while. :)

Worst fight to date: Halted Stream Camp. Sent there to take care of a bounty (and pick up an easy mammoth tusk for Ysolda), Herro died to a glitch--tagged a few of the bad guys in the room where they're butchering a mammoth with arrows. Ran back up the path to hide behind a retaining wall about halfway up the path and got stuck. Stuck bad. Couldn't move, couldn't cast flames or swing his war axe and was promptly skewered by the Orc bandit leader. :( I reloaded due to the glitch and didn't get stuck that time, casting a handy scroll of Storm Atronach at the bandits backs. :D

So....level 9 and doing fine. I will say that doing Bleak Falls in DiD mode took a very long time, indeed. And Herro frequently finds himself making Lydia wait somewhere while he scouts on ahead for traps. And he's currently using a fine Dwarven War Axe and Flames in his left paw for up close and personal encounters. He prefers a bow, though--sneakier and less chance of mussing his fur.

Th?r a'Z?ne

Race: Nordic

Level: 20

Class: Fighter

Alignment: chaotic good

Born: 4E Year: 174 4th of Sun's Height

Died: 4E Year: will get back to this...

backstory: as a boy growing up to be a man, Th?r a'Z?ne the Cyrodiilic Nord grew up in Bruma.

All his youth, he had heard the great tales of those famous and infamous adventurers of Cyrodiil's past: Dyan phor a'Cauz who defeated Umaril, Beujok The Grey Wizard who saved Tamriel from Oblivion's gates, and other lesser-knowns like Lady Saga, Renee Gade II, Eradi~Kate the vampire, and Igodah Go^Pe.

As a young man, he tried adventuring in Cyodiil only to find it to be a fruitless task. Those ruins and forts and caves had all been picked clean 200 years earlier by the forementioned adventurers. He had some sort of military experience, and When the chance presented itself to move to Skyrim where a war was about to set on,Th?r a'Z?ne took initiative. Moved to Skyrim. But not to join the Stormcloaks, not to join the Imperials, but to become rich. To see if any of Skyrim's dungeons were worthy of their legends.

His first dungeon was Bleak Flats Barrow. Over the course of his lifetime, Th?r managed the following:

Dungeons Cleared: 37
Days Passed: 206

Gold Found: 146,864

S'Thassa is now level 67, and about to go retrieve Jurgen Windcaller's Horn. I'd be further along with the main quest if not for the fact that everywhere I go there are more quests to do and things to find, which means I constantly get sidetracked.

She's been approached by the Thieves' Guild, who always seem to want new members; while not particularly interested in joining them, she knows the importance of being well-connected so has not rejected the idea outright. She does plan to join the Stormcloaks, as it's part of her mission; she's beginning to question the motives behind the assignment, though, and the contents of a note she found on a Thalmor assassin are only heightening her suspicions.

She's still having problems controlling the mystic energy constantly welling up inside her, however the meeting with the Greybeards answered a lot of questions regarding why it's happening and what she can do about it. It turns out she can channel the power through the souls of Dragons, which she is somehow able to absorb, and project it in the form of 'shouts'. As these take a great deal of energy to use they are a perfect way to keep it down; each one can only be performed every once in a while, though, so they only go so far in alleviating the problem. It also seems that each 'shout' has three forms, each stronger than the last; each form takes more of her energy to use and takes longer to channel, so it's clear that she will need to master several of them before she can truly keep her power under control.

Fauntleroyeth the Insufferably Arrogant Altmer Necromancer scch Conjurer / Illusionist.
Died at level 1.

Wanted to cast Fury on a Stormcloak, but Hadvar ran in front, turned around and put his sword through Fauntleroyeth's chest.
