Here is day one of my first DID character... sorry if I got carried away!

--------------------
As she sprinted down the hillside, Lilianna wondered how she had gotten herself into such a mess. A fireball screeched past in a fury, embers trailed along the ground, the snow turning to mush from the heat. A second, much closer this time, singed her clothes and hair. It traveled on and collided with a snow packed tree. There was a bright burst of light, and Lilianna had to shield her eyes as she ran. "It’s amazing how much trouble one can get into in such a short time," Lilianna thought to herself. Idly she wondered if Lydia was still alive, but she dared not waste the time to glance back.
Two weeks prior, Lilianna had been traveling to Skyrim to offer her services as a Sellsword. She had heard of the rebellion and knew there was always money to be made in a civil dispute. A whirlwind of events occurred before she had even made it into the providence. The ambush, capture, near execution, and worst of all, the dragon. Escaping the ensuing attack had gone well enough, for her at least. Following the advice of a fellow escapee, she made her way to a local town for supplies, as all of her equipment was lost in the ambush. Not surprisingly, many of your things can mysteriously vanish when your captors don't expect you to see another sunrise.
Telling her story to the townsfolk had netted her some provisions for a few days. In exchange, she had agreed to inform the local Jarl of the dragons. She didn't particularly care about the town, but if there was money to be made, the Jarl's palace would be the best place to start. After settling a romantic dispute in town and gaining a travel companion to Whiterun, Lilianna set off to retrieve some stolen property for a local trader. She would need the money if she was to get any kind of proper attire. She and the young elf, journeyed into the barrow. Through bandit and undead alike they battled. Finally coming to a vast open room with a high wall, the likes of which neither had ever seen. A quiet chant rose in Lilianna's ears. Her companion attested that he could hear nothing, and as she ran her fingers across the stone, she felt a rush of knowledge. Before she could stop to comprehend what had just happened, a crashing sound echoed behind her and she knew another battle was to ensue.
After the fight was won, she hefted a large intricately carved stone. It was very ornate and she figured, someone might offer her well for it. Traveling to Whiterun, she met with the Jarl and was asked to retrieve a special stone for the court wizard. Pulling the intricate stone from her pouch "Is this what you seek?" she asked. Stunned, the wizard only managed to stammer out a confirmation before shouting arose in the main hall. With a new task set before her, Lilianna ventured out to face a dragon in battle. She had no idea why the Jarl thought she would be more help than any other soldier, but she guessed it had something to do with her omitting that she spent most of the last dragon attack running away. She parted company with her travel companion, as he wanted no part of this.
The dragon was surprisingly easy prey for a beast of legend. After its defeat she felt a rush of power, much like what she had experienced from touching the wall. The men spoke of her being "dragon born" and the Jarl instructed she should go see the Greybeards. Turning away from the Jarl, she rolled her eyes. "You aren't going to catch me hanging out with some dusty old monks", she assured herself. Going about town, she found much work that needed to be done. She also met Lydia, a housecarl granted to her by the Jarl. She accepted her company and proceeded to give her all of the supplies to carry. Lydia glared at her through narrowed eyes, "I am sworn to carry your burdens", she said with clear distain.
The next few days saw the companions retrieving a lost sword, clearing a crypt of the dead, and putting a stop to a rogue wizard that had been terrorizing travelers. As they went to exit town one day, a guard mentioned he had seen a dragon circling a nearby mountain peak. Curious to investigate and find out more about this power she felt from slaying dragons, she pair set off to the mountain. It was dark before they reached the base of the mountain. Lilianna paused and crouched low, spying an elk in a stand of nearby trees. She loosed an arrow at it, striking true, but the beast bolted. She flanked around the rocks, trying to get another shot, knowing she could never outrun the beast. After a few minutes of climbing she could see the elk had chosen to cross the river and was now out of range. Turning, she found that Lydia was nowhere to be seen. Scanning the horizon in the darkening twilight, she spied no movement.
Lilianna headed for a nearby outcropping of rock to get a better view. As she crested the rocks, she spied a Saber Cat just 20 feet away. It turned towards her and hissed, baring its claws. Noticing the rocky gap between the two, Lilianna came up with a quick plan. Run! She sprinted as hard as she could up the mountain in the opposite direction. Turning she found she wasn't being followed and she breathed a sigh of relief. In the same moment, Lydia came trotting up. Thinking it best not to mention what had just happened, she had a reputation to maintain of course, the duo set off back up the mountain. As they neared the top, Lilianna realized she had slept less than 10 hours in the past week, and wondered how that was possible. Lydia didn’t seemed to be worried about sleep either.
Errant thoughts soon fled, as they came upon another of the strange walls. A dragon perched motionless atop it. Someone less observant might have thought it was part of the wall. Maybe it was sleeping or meditating, Lilianna did not care, she crouched low, aimed, and released an arrow that pierced the dragon's snout. With a roar the dragon took flight. It scanned the ground for its mysterious attackers and once spotted released a gout of flame in their direction. An old fir tree took the brunt of the fire and the two strode out to battle the dragon.
After a fierce battle, Lilianna could not wait to inspect the wall. From over her shoulder, Lilianna heard Lydia speak, "I've got a bad feeling about this". "The dragon is already dead," Lilianna replied, "what could you be so worried about?" In response, a large stone tomb near the wall began to shake. The lid flipped off, crashing into the snow. Out rose a ghastly figured. It hovered several feet above the tomb, with no legs that Lilianna could spy. It wore a tattered cloak and a mask made of iron or some other base metal. It began to glow a soft blue and removed a staff out of the air where none had been a second before. Lydia charged, greatsword held high. It was clear that this new creature was a spell caster, and as Lilianna had learned through the years, they were often best dealt with quickly before they could bring their power to bear.
The two women laid into the beast, slashing ribbons off its robe. The creature bobbed and weaved, quietly hovering. It flew back quickly, releasing a fireball from the end of its staff. It struck between the two warriors, blackening parts of their armor. A strong pain rose from Lilianna right leg, and she knew the flames had burned her along the gaps in her armor. The women closed in to prevent another such attack, but unexpected to them, the abomination released another blast at point blank range. The ferocious blast struck all of them. Lilianna staggered back, the creature seemed to pay no heed to its smoldering garments. She turned to see Lydia fall to her knees in the snow. In that instant she knew there was but one hope.
Turning, she sprinted down the mountain. The creature hissed and pursued her to the rocky ledge. As Lilianna made her way down the steep peek, the monster fired upon her again and again. It did not seem willing to pursue her any further, but had no problem launch volley after volley in her direction.
Snapping out of her trip down memory lane, Lilianna saw a safe haven. Once out of sight, Lilianna dove into some bushes. From there she watched the creature search along the mountain side for her. After what seemed like forever, the creature retreated back up the mountain to its home. Lilianna returned to Whiterun. As the heavy gate closed behind her, she fell onto a nearby bench to rest. "That was a pretty close one," she mused to herself. Just then, a shadow fell across her. Blinking, she stared up at the face of Lydia. Her armor burned and battered. Sitting up quickly, Lilianna said "Whew, I'm glad you made it! Seems my diversion did the trick!" Lydia started back at her blankly. "It was the only way I could think to save you," Lilianna grinned unconvincingly. "Come now, don't look at me like that. Tomorrow is another adventure", Lilianna exclaimed patting Lydia on the back.
