The Skyrim Dead Is Dead Thread III

Deidranna met a young Nord warrior. He told her that a necromancer is doing dark rituals with the bodies of his ancestors in the crypt before him. Since she can never resist when necromancy comnes into play, she decided to "help" him. Unfortunately four draugr scourges with four unreleting shouts were too much for her.

RIP

R'Jasta was on hiatus until I finished my normal playthrough but now his adventure has begun.

The last few days travels follow thus

Spoiler
After arriving in Riverwood and robbing a decent bit of coin and not to mention some clothes R'Jasta had played cupid with Sven and Camilla, he had never liked that stinking elf Faendal anyway- seemed to have something against Khajiit.

R'Jasta wished to go for a reasonable adventure to begin to build up his skills that had gone so unpracticed during his time in Imperial custody. Sven was now a firm friend and was all too happy to accompany R'Jasta to Embershard mine. With their combined strength the bandits fell like saplings in the face of a strong desert wind. They had some decent armour which was used wisely to greater equip both Sven and himself before returning for a night in Riverwood.

The following day R'Jasta decided to avoid all this talk of Whiterun and Dragons and fell back on what he likes best, one word from some snooty imperial and his wife was enough for him to reduce them to carrion for the crows. They had some pretty jewels on them and R'Jasta thought he might sell them to the trader in RIverwood for some extra coin. Sven seemed somewhat aghast by the callous murder of a couple of innocent wedding goers but eventually came round, especially as they really had it coming to them.

They then proceeded together to the trader who directed them to Bleak Falls Barrow in order to retrieve a Golden Claw from some thieves. Smelling both blood and coin R'Jasta proceeded straight away to the Barrow with Sven in tow. The Bandits were easy pickings and all fell quickly to the battleaxe blows. Arvel the Swift was not 'swift' enough and his treahery after the difficult fight with a spider in which Sven almost died was paid in kind by way of bloody claws.

They proceeded deeper and deeper into the lower crypts of the Barrow, Sven's 'I've got a bad feeling about this' was all to appropriate as they were forced to fight off wave after wave of putrid Nord corpses who seem to be even worse in death than they are alive! After many Draugr lay scattered across the stones they finally reached the inner sanctum together and unlocked the idiotically easy Nordic door. An amazing cavern lay before them with an imposing wall covered in strange markings. As R'Jasta drew closer the words seemed to call out to him and he suddenly was imbued with mysterious power. As soon as the wave passed a Draugr Overlord burst from his erstwhile tomb. Sven cowered in fear but R'Jasta merely laughed as he produced a scroll of 'Bane of the Undead' as quick as the menace had appeared so it was turned into a mewling kitten-babe before their eyes and R'Jasta beat it many times before humiliatingly dealing the final blow with his claws. After looting the pathetic fiend's tomb they proceeded out of the Barrow and were near blinded by the noon Sun. R'Jasta was exhausted by this ordeal and returned to Hod and gerdur's for a well earned rest. In the morning the claw was returned and balance restored to Riverwood. He bid farewell to his good friend Sven as the road he was about to embark on held no place for the bard. Indeed after his experience in the Barrow he knew that a life of petty Brigandry was far behind him and he started on the road to Whiterun to seek out the Jarl and hopefully shed some light on both the dragons and the mysterious word wall...

Just started a new chacter, have decided to do Dead is Dead

Rallius En'Tire is a Dark Elf who has resides in many different lands. He calls no place home and follows a certain vioce calling him to different lands. He sees nothing as a deity and believe in only himself as someone he should worship. After hearing "The Voice" he ventured into skyrim. He was told to go northeast and find a lost power. After crossing into Skyrim he was caught in the middle of battle, struck with an arrow, and blacked out. When he awoke he was bound and about to be executed. An unsuspecting ally, a dragon, appeared and caused enough confusion for him to escape. He is now on his way to warn Whiterun, and his true journey has begun.

Edit:Still level 1.

Ok, here we go (slight sigh).

I never dared doing this in Morrowind or Oblivion. But since I tend to get bored fast in games, even TES, this seems like the perfect challenge. I am soooo going to hate myself for this choice when my character dies...

Name: Duncan
Level: 6 (started playing 2 days ago but couldn't find the topic)
Race: Nord
Occupation: Adventurer and blacksmith.
Specializations: Smithing, one-handed (axes), heavy armor, block, alchemy.
Difficulty: Adept

Playing on adept because I've only seen a small part of the game yet, and that small part was enough for all my other characters to die a number of times, so I'm taking it easy. So far no real threat, although I had a bit of a rough fight against 4 bandits.

My character has only two motivations: become the toughest warrior, and the best blacksmith ever known in Skyrim. Besides being a warrior with metal in his veins, he has (very limited) knowledge of magic: he can transmute elements, and seems to learn some weird magic from marks he finds on the wall from time to time. So far, he's mostly been working for the companions, and he's joined the revolution and is fighting for the stormcloaks.

Name: Gor'Badd Ironclaw

Level: 31

Race: Orc

Occupation: Adventurer and blacksmith.

Specializations: Smithing, one-handed (maces), heavy armor, block, restoration.

Difficulty: Master

Currently doing pretty well, which might change now that I finally unleashed the dragons into the game world. Patch needs to fix elemental resistance or he'll die in the next dragon fight for sure..

I'll update this a bit, still not dead, but some interesting things have happened.
(level 35 atm)

I took Aela out for some draugr killing and met a chick in a dungeon who wanted to find a scroll, but needed my help killing this Vokun guy. We rush in, aela with mehrunes razor ready, the other chick summoned a fire atronarch and I smacked away in full daedric gear a bit further, keeping the majority of the enemies focused on me. I didn't see what was going on behind me, but as soon as I killed my enemies I turned around and helped finish of the rest of the draugrs. This was literally in second room, far away from the Vokun guy. After the dust settled, I ask myself "Where did Aela go? I'm sure i saw her follow me into this room.." I activate the misc quest to ask companion leaders for work, no quest marker pointing inside this place, only outside. So now I think for myself "she probably went away, as I can't have two companions at the same time" (I thought the quest chick replaced Aela.) I go back to the room I fought the draugrs in and on the floor is Aela.. :obliviongate: Dead is Dead, even for companions. I killed the quest-chick seconds later, had to avenge Aela's death on something. The vokun guy also got his fair deal of it, his fireballs didn't do anything as I just absorbed them.

That's not all that happened. Now I thought i'd take Farkas for a little adventure. I give him full daedric armor (legendary) and a legendary daedric greatsword. We go for a dungeon and meet a guy outside it who needs help clearing out a dark elf necromancer inside it. Easy as a cake I think and onwards we go. Everything goes according to the plan, but once again, before the actual boss of the dungeon, something unsuspected happens. A room that fills with poisoned darts and also filled with draugr have us occupied for quite a while. In the confusion, I lose sight of Farkas as I back a few feet to heal up and engage again. I kill the draugr.. and what do I see? Farkas dead body, still green from the poison, still wearing his full daedric armor, his greatsword a few feet from him. Once again I revenge the death of a fellow member of the circle by killing the necromancer and the quest-giver. I won't do this mistake with Vilkas, so I hired a random guy in windhelm instead.

So yeah, that's what's been going on in Gor'Badds life.

[...] "Come now, don't look at me like that. Tomorrow is another adventure", Lilianna exclaimed patting Lydia on the back.

You have such a talent! I'm loving it. Keep 'em coming!

Do you guys have any tips for master for DiD? I'm not using companions and I'm not smithing, enchanting, or using alchemy.

Master on DiD?
If you want to get far, you will need an OP-glitched gear. Go for expert. It's very well balanced.

Update on R'Jasta follows:

Spoiler
R'Jasta arrived in Whiterun after an uneventful journey. What with it being night time he promptly went to the tavern for some warm ale and a nap before turning in- Little did he know he would meet a belligerent Nord woman named Uthgerd who had already challenged him to a brawl minutes after his arrival, he got off his stool, drained his pint and let loose with his claws; within seconds she was panting on the floor and 100 gold lighter. R'Jasta admired her warrior's spirit and thought she would make a fine replacement for Sven. After a good night's rest the two comrades proceeded to an audience with Jarl in the imposing Dragonsreach. After helping himself to the Jarl's best wine R'Jasta was summoned and explained his experiences. After a few minutes a guard came up flustered shouting of a Dragon attack, the rag tag band of dragonslayers charged to the watchtower and slayed the foul creature where it landed. Suddenly the mysterious feeling of power washed over R'Jasta once more and he unleashed the words he had absorbed earlier in a powerful shout that sent Irileth reeling. The men crowded around the bewildered Khajiit calling him Dragonborn. On their way back to Dragonsreach a powerful shout rolled across the land calling the Dovahkiin to High Hrothgar. The Jarl made R'Jasta a Thane of Whiterun as well as giving him a housecarl, Lydia, to which the old rogue could only laugh at the absurdity of it all

Before embarking on their journey the warriors decided to earn some easy coin claiming some local bounties and finding a friendly Redguard Amren's family sword. They tracked the sword to Valtheim Towers where the thieves had holed up- not one to wait around Uthgerd charged in cleaving left and right and ending many a brigand's life. However the Chief of these bandits was to be no push over, Uthgerd was downed and it was all R'Jasta could do to flee from Valtheim into the open to give himself a greater room to maneuver in and some well required time to heal. After many potions downed the chief finally fell to Uthgerd and R'Jasta's blows and tumbled over the nearby cliff. He was all ready to celebrate their victory with Uth when he realised to his horror that some disaster had befallen the Universe and Uthgerd seemed frozen in place. A few light punches was not enough to jolt her out of this predicament so he resolved to use his newly learned shout to release her from the spot she was frozen into. Carefully he aimed his Thuum so as to avoid sending her careering over the cliff edge but to his utter horror she seemed to disregard all logic and went staggering into the abyss after the chief they had spent so long battling. The sickening crunch followed by a scream of pain was enough to tell him that even Uthgerd the Unbroken could not escape the inevitable death of the bone shattering fall. He ran as fast as he could to her side but it was far, far too late- she was gone. He decided from then on to 1. Be more careful when it came to helping followers escape bugs with a Thuum. 2. Join the Companions as was Uthgerd's own dream in order to gain some redemption from his foolishness which had cost her her life. So with a heavy heart he began the long walk back to Whiterun, where Jorrvaskr awaited his arrival.

Uthgerd's Funeral (Her body has since vanished but her sword remains surrounded by the garlands of nordic flowers):

Starting a new one (hope this one lasts more than poor Tyrondir):

Name: Tyroín
Born: unknown
Race: Nord (i love battlecry)
six: Male
Specialty: Sword & Shield
Motto: "Slow and Steady"

I'm entering this cave and right away i get attacked by a troll.
Beat him and go deeper. Another troll and i think: "Just a troll, ok."
Then here comes another behind him and i'm like: "[censored] just got serious".
First one is halfway River Styx, i hear this grunt behind the two.
Rushing to me like a thirsty stallion here comes the third troll.
At this moment i'm trying to save my butt from total gangbang but i cant manage to pass the two in front of me.
I kill one of them but the other two are still blocking the exit and i just used my last health potion.
Suddenly, when everything seemed lost, Talos talks to me: "Tyroín, use your gift given by the gods. Show us why you are Dragonborn!".
I take a deep breath. Time slows.

" - FUS..."
I feel a surge of power, a stream of energy, passing through my body.

"...RO..."
The stream slows and i feel the power converging to my throat.

"...DAH!"
The concentrated energy on my throat is projected in front of me.

The two beasts go flying. This is my chance to GTFO! My feet are like wind. I pass through the furious troll recovering themselves from the thu'um. No time to say goodbye.
As i step of the cave, i feel the fresh air of the waterfall on my face.
" - It's over, i'm alive! I survived! I SURVIVED! YESSSSS, HAHAHAHA! I'M A GOD IN HUMAN BO..."

I see three "Hired" thugs walking down the cliff...

Tyroín
Male Nord Sword & Board

R'Jasta's life conitnues:

Spoiler
R'Jasta arrived later that morning at Jorrvaskr and was easily able to pass the entry test brawl with one of the circle members. Afterwards he was sent on a number of low level, trivial quests including beating up yet another person in The Bannered Mare- reminded him of Uthgerd :sadvaultboy: He was finally ready to take on some higher level work for the Companions and accompanied Farkas to find a missing piece of legendary Companion weaponry. It was here that he discovered that the Companions highest echelon were in fact: Werewolves! He and Farkas were forced to fight for their lives against a bunch of antisocial werewolf hunters but in fact they provided little to no challenge when faced with R'Jasta's newly found Skyforge steel Greatsword which he enchanted and named 'Mange Lancer' in the hope that it's frost damage would allow him freeze some of the filth off his skin- he highly doubted it would be successful though. After doing a couple more generic missions with Lydia- his new comrade in arms- He was once again called upon by the Companions this time to the Underforge. As he moved into the dark crypt a wave of realisation crept over him- he was to join the circle and thus become... a WEREWOLF! As he drank Aela's blood the beast grew within him to the extent that he lost all sense of self and became one with the beast, bursting from the confines of Jorrvaskr and out into Whiterun where he barely managed to escape with his life after being attacked by all the town's watchmen.

He awoke naked in a clearing with Aela watching over him- apparently his transformation had been rough but on the plus side a nest of Silver handers had been located and Skjor had been sent to investigate. After arriving at the foreboding fort he and Aela delved into its depths seeing many tortured and dead werewolves who, if yet suffering, were swiftly put out of their misery. Finally they reached the Inner Sanctum, Skjor was DEAD- killed by 'The Skinner' a Werewolf bigot of the highest order. A lengthy battle ensued as 'The Skinner' seemed to have a very large pool of health alongside an enchanted weapon. While tempted to use his beast form R'Jasta decided against it as a den of werewolf hunters armed with silver weaponry really didn't seem like the best place. Eventually after many a health potion quaffed 'The Skinner' fell and Skjor was avenged. Aela ordered him to quickly move to Assasinate another silver hand leader at a nondescript dungeon which he and Lydia took care of with ease and was on his way home to Whiterun when he felt the sudden urge to give in to his beast blood. He bade Lydia get lost and felt himself become overwhelmed by the monster within. Post transformation he relied on instinct and scent running faster than he ever had before suddenly arriving at Largashbur- an Orsimer camp. After dispatching the Giant assaulting the camp his scent for blood was too great to ignore and he ran into the camp murdering a number of the orcish denizens before feeding on their corpses. Apparently he had the sudden feeling that he was 'hostile' with this faction now and that perhaps his slaughter had caused a certain quest opportunity to be failed but no matter, he simply revelled in bloodlust before awakening next morning in his trademark underpants in Breezehome with Lydia staring creepily over at him as he slept as per usual...

Sabrecat
Male Orc
Paladin class
Level 22
Master difficulty

Well Sabrecat's list of achievements are numerous. With the aid of riften he killed a dragon naked with a pickaxe on a dare. He helped cleanse azura's gem and rid the world of several dremora. The first blood dragon learned firsthand his melee prowess. The imperial army discovered he was quite resourceful as well.

He once killed a dragon, two giants, an two mammoths in a single engagement. The giants died to his arrows the mammoths to his mace.

On his way to clear a fort of storm cloak scum, Sabrecat discovered an unmarked shrine and was suddenly attacked by two ice wraiths. Blocking had little effect verses their cold embrace. Feeling a sharp poke in his back, Sabrecat turned to see a giant frost spider joined the fray, against him. Just then a mighty roar sounded in the sky. Confused by all the various threats, Sabrecat forgot to drink a potion and fell to a two pronged assault from the wraiths, seconds before the dragon roasted the air in front of him.

This is an example of the fun we have during my stream. Lookin for pointers? Want to talk to others about their DiD characters? Want to give me an impossible task and watch me (possibly) succeed? Come join us every night at 8pm PST! The viewers control the character stats, equipmenr, perks, and direction of the character. Role playing is light and the focus is on action. I play with no companions, no enchanting, and no smithing. Alchemy, conjuration and illusion are allowed only if the viewers approve. Videos of Sabrecat can be found in the link in my signature.

I love this idea except the only thing that breaks it for me is that your still resetting the whole world every time you die. Its not like your simply picking up where your previous character was killed.

And by the way: In your players tomb listing, you can remove almost every comma as there's no need for most of them.

So far I have made only 5 characters, 4 of which are my typical type (and share the same name).

1. Skot the Sanguine: Level 28, KiA when a power swing somehow missed (though the axe appeared to go through the enemy) a Fire Mage that would have been killed with it only to take a fatal strong fireball to the face.

2. Skot the Sanguine (II): Level 24, Killed in glorious battle with a bandit chieftan after killing all her minions on the boat wreck they inhabited.

3. Skot the Sanguine (III): Level 38, Killed after getting sloppy and swarmed by undead/ghosts in a frost cave, accessed my potion too slowly.

4. Shugrub gro-Bol: Level 30 (ish), Eaten by a dragon in Eastmarch (literally bitten, then spit out by the thing...guess Orcs aren't good eats).

5. Skot the Sanguine (IV): Level 52 and still living. Finished MQ/Companions line and owns a home in Markarth.

All Skot the Sanguines are barbarian hunter/berserkers.
