THE Skyrim Horses topic...

Just give me my first person view back and make the jump more responsive and I'd be happy. I'm not interested in mounted combat -- I just spring off in a direction then dismount, that usually gives me enough time to prepare for battle.

Something as simple as saddle bags for added inventory space would have made 'em slightly useful.
As it is i just killed my horse after a while, i felt it was just a nuisence getting in my way.
I also find it odd that you can't just sell it again, even if selling it at a loss....seems like such a simple and obvious option to have added ?

The renaming issue is a good one, especially seeing as when you go to buy a horse in Whiterun, the stable owner implies that you will be able to rename it.

I would prefer them to be faster, but I'm guessing that's just empty hope.

A horse call would indeed be very useful, it makes practical gameplay sense, although I'm sure it'd detract from realism as a result.

While horseback fighting mechanics would be nice, i would guess they would be difficult to implement at this stage, as logically you would need some sort of homing targeting system, otherwise you'd end up stopping your horse just to shoot. However, if such a thing was tackled from the beginning you'd get battles on horse back against an angry dragon, similar to battles seen in Shadow Of The Colossus, and to be quite frank, they are among the best ever seen in gaming.

People are measuring the animation against the Red Dead, but these are stockier horses, I'm guessing they aren't supposed to move like Red Dead horses, and for the record, i prefer the horse animation from Shadow Of The Colossus.

A carrot for you! And an octopus hat.

Yeah, yeah, riding them, and saddlebags and all that muck. What about HYPNOTIZING them......?

Had an urge to post this.

I ride Shadowmere. :P
Might have a stolen horse in my past, beyond a quest, but Shadowmere is my horse of choice in a world of dragons, and dangers.

Overall, I like horses. They work like a strength potion. If you're over loaded with gear, hop on a horse, and you can fast travel. Shadowmere will gladly trample a bandit, or a dragon nearby.

Lacking horse combat is annoying. It's why I don't ride, coz I don't like getting caught with my pants down, so to speak. That, and my follower can't ride, nor keep up properly.

Kinda weird that your horse will detect you, too. When you're sneaking in hostile areas, it can throw a person off, right?

Another gripe is the fact there's no hose call. I'd like one, honestly. Not necessarily something crazy like calling your horse, and it teleports across Skyrim to you (Unless it's a shout. o.O) but something for if your horse is kinda close, but out of arm's reach, you know? Sometimes after a fast travel your horse isn't near the enterance to a cave/ruin.

Games like Red Dead Redemption, and Dynasty/Samurai Warriors kinda spoiled me on the idea of a horse call. :P

I'm starting to imagine Dynasty Warrior horses in the game now, like Red Hare, and the elephant which would probably be a mammoth.

Or Red Dead Redemption's horses of the apocalypse, or the Unicorn.

Maybe we could get a pegasus?

Maybe we could get a horse stable expansion? Sort of like a horse garage so we can have multiple horses?

Oh the possibilities!

I hope I didn't derail the topic. o.O
