But what's this? The back has a strange language on the back. It must be a secret message that will reveal something about the game! With haste I sit down and begin to decode as best I can, even though the article claimed that a decryption key would be released later in the day. No way, this Elder Scrolls fan wouldn't wait for your sissy keys and hints. This would be old fashioned pen and paper decryption and guesswork until something was legible. Is this an E? Maybe an R? This almost looks like it could be the lyrics to the teaser song.
Needless to say, I didn't make it very far. I hadn't considered that some symbols stood for multiple letters, and that the correct decryption required translating the words given. But I tried nonetheless, and after the hints were given I quickly discovered the answer. "By the Nine Divines! It's one of the Nine Divines!" I exclaimed in surprise.
With this knowledge, I return to the forums faster than M'aiq can run. One thread, two threads, three threads - all talking about the back cover poem! The answer is now right in front of us! We've been waiting for this for so long!
And then I grow discontent because I hunger for more knowledge. The GI cover is revealed, and the issue will be arriving at the doorstep of subscribers soon. Reaching into my wallet, I pull out my GameStop PowerUp card, reminding me that I am, in fact, a subscriber. That knowledge comforts me. People claim that it will hit subscribers at any time between tomorrow and the 14th. But how long would it take for me? A day? Two days? A week!? There is no way I can wait a week! But I svck it in, reminding myself that I've waited many years; what's one more day? Late in the night, I retire to bed, with dreams of Elder Scrolls still fresh in my mind.
The next morning, I awake. Anything new on GI's website? Nope, same as it was yesterday. But it's only 9:00, and the mail doesn't come until 2:00. I sit, and I wait, and I wait some more. By this time, it's 3:00. I hear no mail truck. But the mail had to have come by now. It's already an hour past its usual time. Maybe it went by without me noticing? I put on my shoes and my warm winter jacket and trek outside to my mailbox. I arrive. And I open it slowly. And what should I find inside except for......
Nothing. Nothing at all.
So, people of the forums, did anyone else have more luck than me? Or were you left with the same sense of disappointment when you realized that your mail was devoid of Game Informer?
