The solution to unreachable areas

I think a good thing to add to Skyrim would be a cat the player carries in their inventory and when set loose, this cat will climb to high places the player can't reach and retrieve valuable items.

Thoughts?

Or, if it's something like the Varla stones in Oblivion, just knock it down with a bow/arrow.
But are you serious? A cat?

Lol my cats ignore me and lick their arses. I'm lucky if they respond to their name.

Well, that's certainly a unique solution! It could be useful, but I think this is something unique enough that it wouldn't be a lone solution to a problem. As in, we can't expect every character to carry around a pet cat trained to bring specific objects back to the player from hard to reach locations. Personally, I feel that this is something more suited towards a mod than a built in feature. Just my opinion, of course.

Indeed.

I have two, and they love it when I pet them...

...when they WANT me to pet them. Any other time of the day they could care less what I'm doing.

Yup, petting (when they want it) or food (anytime). Anything else, you can [censored] off in their opinion. I should've got dogs. :teehee:

I'll stick to telekinesis, thanks. The perks of playing a mage and all that.

Perhaps a Khajiit kid would be close enough? :obliviongate:

YES! This is an excellent idea, except maybe some kind of :spotted owl: instead of a cat. Because birds can go to places cats cannot. Also, probably should be summonable via dragon shout rather than keeping it in your pack (that would be inhumane).

Actually, I've changed my mind. It would be great if they had this - the majority of the time the cat would look at you like you were an idiot (as cats are wont to do), but on that odd occasion, they would do what you say. It would be as rare as winning the lottery, but just as fulfilling.

Maybe a Dwemer remote controlled cat?

Hey, if scientists can create remote controlled mice, then surely it could be done to cats.

The cat doesn't have to climb up, it shoots things down with throwing spears and crossbows...

You want to stuff a small furry child into your backpack, only bringing it out so you can force it to climb up and grab crap for you before being stuffed back it?

Sounds dwarfy...
