The Sound bug?

Post » Mon Aug 29, 2011 4:42 am

Hey there, I got a problem. A Sound problem In fact. Okay, I hope getting this fixed. The Problem is that I cannot hear myself walking/running if i am in First-Person look, and NCPs sound very weird when they talk like not Directly to me, cuz If they do I can't hear them, I can't hear what they are saying. This happened after Looting "Silver Rush" with "Rose" in "Freeside" ehm... And yeah... If I loot anything from Corpses I can't hear anything when I select what I loot, and If someone give me stuff. I can't hear the Sound which usually comes when it says like "Stimpack added" or something.. I can hear everything else Perfectly. so Please Forums Help my game (Rip-off of "So Please MTV Pimp my ride")

Looking forward for some answers... (Yes I have Restarted the game a few times....)

Thanks -MoneyLover

Running 32 bit Windows XP on Steam, with at least 2GB installed RAM? If so do this.

1: Locate the "FalloutNV.EXE" file. Normally found in "..Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas" directory.
2: Right click that file and select "Properties".
3: Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
4: Check box the "Run this program in Compatibility mode for.." option.
5: Select "Windows 98 / Windows ME" from the pull down menu.

That should sort out the sound lag. Well, at least it did for me.

Setting the Falloutnv.exe priority higher than normal in the task manager also helps.
