The sound of music

Personally, I feel like Skyrim should really improve on the fine arts in Tamriel. Wouldn't a tavern feel about ten times more alive if there was some music going on in there? The most I remember from OB was Totious sixtuses wife painting the sunset in Anvil and that composer in the Imperial City. Not to mention the only paintings I ever remember seeing were of landmarks, pretty boring I think. I think that a greater focus on these types of things would make the world around you feel so much more alive, further deepening the immersion.

I would absolutely love to see more culture in Skyrim. The music in taverns idea is great, I'd like to hear different kinds of music depending on what region in Skyrim I'm in. And I'd like it if not all the taverns were so damn neat! I want the place to be cluttered and messy if a bunch of raging drunks reside there, especially if there's a raging drunk running the place!
I, too, have noticed how boring and repetitive the paintings were, they were cool and pretty until I'd seen them so many times that I could paint them myself.
EDIT: So is the moo option a yes or no?

Speaking of bars......ever sense Skyrims announcement I have the idea of some Nord who looks and acts just like Iggy Pop running the most popular bar in the region. And, of course, he'd have to be shirtless. Cant you just picture it?

I mean he IS a wine critic after all.....

In the trailer, there is a sequence in a tavern (where the character assassinated a NPC), and a bard with a guitar thing is leaning against a beam. I'd assume he would be singing!

Why did you have to add moo as an option? There's no way I could have stopped myself from picking it :poke:

Anyhow, yes I really would like to see some more culture. It was something that I found Oblivion to be pretty lacking, and would love to see more in Skyrim.

And don't forget holidays! There definitely should be some holidays (like in Daggerfall).

I saw and interview where Todd said that Bethesda are paying particular attention to this so that skyrim will have a really unique and authentic feel to it - we are going to be immersed in the Nordic culture unlike cyrodiil which is a cosmopolitan province

Like Nehrim?

I loved the folk songs being played in taverns/inns in that game.
