The state of Crysis 2, beautiful Crysis 2.

The game is broken to hell, missing features, AI bugs, glitches, nanocatalyst progress not saving in SP, no DX11, dumbed down gameplay, multiplayer is barely holding together, no server files, no control whatsoever of said servers, no anti-cheat, no copy protection, simple client files editing allows for all kinds of legal hacks, cheaters with all kinds of legal and illegal hacks rampant, no server-side validation, disconnection issues, rank issues, rank hacks, xp loss, unlocks not remaining unlocked, limited edition redeem code problems, server browser not working properly, servers stuck at the lobby and not starting. And god knows what else I can't remember right now...

...and I don't give them 4 months at best before they start pushing their first paid DLC. You heard it first here.

Now I'm thinking, what are the Q&A team members at Crytek made of. Monkeys, or were they at gunpoint by EA? Because this game isn't fit to be called a beta, it clearly needed several more months in development, and how the hell that Q&A team gave the all clear to release it is beyond anyone's mind.

That first wall of text made me chuckle. Hilarious how shoddy the pc version is. There's gonna be a lot of patches.....

I'm pretty sure there's a lot more than that, just can't think of them all right now. Indeed it is. And this week's patch better fix the whole multiplayer hacking issue.

EA - "They call me Profit".

That should be their new motto. A publishing company run by decrepit Luddites who lack any understanding of 21st century economics and video game development is obviously not going to care about the game itself, but the sales figures. I once read a pro-piracy rant that said that many corporations still run on a 1950's business model rather than one which is better suited for today; and EA would appear to be guilty of this (despite having not been around for the 50's). A company like EA would sell snake oil and claim that it'd cure all ailments without a second thought. The product doesn't matter, but the sales.

I'd almost like to call EA the "Fundamentalist Bible Belt Right-winger Televangelist" of game corporations, but Activison already has that title.

In other words, don't blame Crytek - who care - for the poor release of this game, but a bunch of old men without any real understanding of the current world.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"They take amphetamine pep pills to keep going on their grueling twenty-hour days, with the result that their vision of the world is somewhat skewed in a paranoid direction, and they take tranquilizers to keep from worrying too much, with the result that their detachment sometimes borders on the schizophrenic; but most of the time their innate shrewdness gives them a fingernail grip on reality. In short, they are much like the leaders of Activision and EA". This adapted quote seems more like the actual scenario day-by-day...

This is what I'd like to know for sure, plenty of companies do care about their games but get under fire when they screw up, usually because of it's publisher (namely EA - sometimes it feels like they're a cancer in the industry) putting retarded launch dates on games that could not hit the shelves in their current state.

I'd like to know if this is Crytek's case or if they just took the easy way out and didn't give a damn now that console money was in. If it's the former, companies really need to put some effort in beeing their own publishers. We need more companies like Valve, really.
