The State of Guilds In TES6

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 11:30 pm

I don't think the Dragonborn completed every single quest such as the Darkbrother Hood,College of Winterhold,and the Thieves guild. Do you think Bethesda will leave it unexplained? Or the Dragonborn really did all guild quest? Some how keeping every Guild in control simultaneously?

Also what do you think the guilds will be like in TES6? The Thieves Guild can be in its Golden Age or the Darkbrother hood could still be struggling with recruitment.

I think it will be a case of someone completed the Dark Brotherhood, and someone joined the Companions. It makes the events of the games canon, but doesn't stomp on your roleplay.

I'd say we won't hear much about the Thieve's Guild, Companions or College of Winterhold. We never really hear much about guilds from past games. I do think that, if the Dark Brotherhood appear in the next game, we'll hear about how they rebuilt ... Or failed to rebuild.

I don't think it will be mentioned in TES:VI that the Dragonborn led all of the Skyrim guilds, just like TES:V never mentioned that the Champion of Cyrodiil led the Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, etc.

I'm hoping that in TES:VI the guilds start off in a slightly better state than in Skyrim. If you take a look at how the some of the guilds in Skyrim begin;

Dark Brotherhood - a handful of members, only one active sanctuary, abandoned the Old Ways
Thieves Guild - awful reputation, hiding in the Ratway's terrible conditions, not feared, very unwealthy, broken leadership
College of Winterhold - poor reputation, handful of members, not trusted, having trouble recruiting

I guess this makes for better storylines, but meh, I really wish the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild were massive, successful organisations for once.

if you do at least partway into the theives guild
Spoiler
then you can talk to a bosmer who talks about a thieves guild equivalent in valenwood. So they probably have some sort of thieves guild in all the provinces (although I do hope we go to valenwood)

There will undoubtedly be some sort of fighters guild and mages guild, although probably under a different name.

And the brotherhood always survives :ph34r:
