The strangest thing I've EVER seen...

Post » Wed Oct 20, 2010 3:21 am

Okay, I was exploring Vault 11 for the Brotherhood of Steel quest and I didn't have the key to open the place under the overseer's office so I just kept exploring.. There's a lot of traps set up in this place and in one room, I shot a mantis and the entire room exploded with gas or something - I just figured I was dead at first... But then I noticed I was in a long tunnel telling me to go towards the light, so I did.. Anyway, I guess you know what happens down there..

Here's the strange part.. After killing the robots and trying to get out of here for about 30 minutes I did some Googling and found out that that tunnel I was in was below the Overseers chair.. How the hell did I get there? I guess the game glitched when that room exploded and now I can't exit because there's no way to access the door that I was supposed to come in through....

I'm on PS3, by the way, so no console commands...

Oh, it never happened to me, nor have I heard about it before now.

I'm assuming you can get there by having the key to the Overseer's computer terminal, but I don't know where to get it. I guess I must have fallen through the floor or something but what baffles me is that I wasn't in the Overseer's Office when the blast happened, but yet I ended up right underneath his chair... It was kind of creepy to see the entire room in flames being sure that I was dead and then all of a sudden I was in a tunnel hearing "Go in to the light."

Well I recently had to goto Vault 34 for a Pulse Gun. You will need to go in there...and kill that weirdo overseer.

Look for the Ombudsman's speech. You can find a holodisk copy of it in a meeting room on the same floor, or on a terminal. The password to the Overseer's PC is in the speech.

Yeah that’s funny but it svcks, you got glitches to somewhere you aint supposed to be yet.

If you havent already, read up on that vault before you destroy the robots at the end by the way or you might run into a game breaker.

Yes, it sounds like you glitched through the floor into an area that only opens from the opposite side. I will say, though, that as hilarious as the "walk into the light" section is when you do it as scripted, it sounds even funnier after you get set on fire fighting a bug.
