The strip not lit up at night?

Post » Tue Aug 13, 2013 7:58 pm

I have noticed this since I first bought NV for the PC about a month or so ago that at night when looking at the strip it is not lit up like it's suppose to be, it's just dark. Now, once you enter through the strip gate and enter the strip, it is lit up just not when you're outside of the strip. I know it's suppose to be lit up because it always has on my Xbox copy which I have had since the day it launched.

Anyone else have this problem? It's irritating me, I want to get this fixed.

I'll probably be asked about having mods installed.

My answer is yes I do, however I didn't install any until like a week or two after buying the game and even before then, the strip was never lit up.

Unfortunately I was unable to post a link for some odd reason to help show what I was talking about, oh well. I hope you understand.

Hello G of the I,
The game's video configuration (accessed from the launch menu) allows you to select appropriate view distances on the 'Advanced' tab.
Everyone wants super-long - which you get using the Ultra preset.
However a lot of PCs are going to choke on Ultra...

I have found that selecting Medium preset, then manually dragging all the view distances to maximum, can function very well.
Or even the High preset as a starting point (if your rig can handle it).

I will use a less-than-Ultra preset at 1920 x 1080 (native) resolution, with no AA and maybe 8x AF, if that's what it takes to get all those sliders set to full-long.
It's a priority, for me! Whereas antialiasing is a luxury.
You've gotta make these choices if you don't own an Ultra rig...
Good luck.
