The strongest most naturally talented warriors?

Post » Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:04 pm

The most naturally talented warriors in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tamriel, the dark-skinned, wiry-haired Redguards of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Hammerfell seem born to battle, though their pride and fierce independence of spirit makes them more suitable as scouts or skirmishers, or as free-ranging heroes and adventurers, than as rank-and-file soldiers. In addition to their cultural affinities for many weapon and armor styles, Redguards are also physically blessed with hardy constitutions, resistance to poison, and quickness of foot. Redguards do not share the same blood as the other human races, and they have no connection with the ancestral Nordic homeland of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Atmora.

Bosmer, Boss-Mer. Coincidence? I think not!

Yes, yes it is. And ironic.

Except the question is also strongest.

true but there's different forms of strength so I still say that they're the "strongest" warriors...they fought the Dominion to a stalemate on their own after a decade of the Dominion trying to conquer Hammerfell, that has to account for something.

Of course it counts for something. The Nords keeping the Imperial City standing as long as it did would also count for something. And uniting Cyrodiil in a year when the Empire was at its infancy, allowing it to rise to begin with. I think it is a lot less clear-cut than "X race is the best at Y", with the exception of the Altmer vs the other playable races on magical affinity(some non-playable races seem like they could be contenders, like the Sload). Redguards are said to be the most naturally talented warriors(though I think the best swordsmen is a better description, since swords seem to be their primary thing). Orcs are said to be the finest heavy armored troops. Nords are said to be strong and hardy and highly talented warriors. The Orcs and Nords appear to be the best smiths, which would count for something since a warriors equipment is important. At the end of the day, I don't think we've got quite enough to say which of them are the better warriors overall.

This and the fact that it took both the redguards and the Bretons in a combined effort 30 years to sack the Orcish city of Orsinium.

2 entire army's 30 years to defeat one city.

If the Orcs had the land and the economy that the Redguards or the Nords have they would unbeatable.

The Nord armies are the best, but for individual worriers the red guards are the most skilled IMO.

What makes you think any other races could have done it faster?

My vote went to the RedGuards. They just give off that warrior/ disciplined style of personality for what ever reason. Nords would be my vote for runner up, their entire culture just screams warrior imo, though I don't find them as skilled or disciplined as the Redguards.

Sure it does, but also keep in mind that the legion (imps, nords, bretons) were the ones that kept the numbers in hammerfell down to what they were, and they had a bigger army to fight, as the Thalmor got all available forces to fight in the battle of the red ring.

I don't know if any of the other races could have done it faster or not.

My point is that it took two very powerful races 30 years to defeat one Orcish city.

Frandar Hunding & 500 Sword-Singers vs Ysgramor & FHC

I call Musashi, hands down.

Put them in some "good old fashioned steel" and I doubt they'd be that great.

I don't recall any race except for Nords invading a foreign land and forcing the inhabitants to literally give up and flee.

Never mind the fact that despite the fact they do live for battle, supplemented by near limitless hoards, the people of Tamriel did rather well all in all against them. Hell, the hist just supped the Argoninas up and forced them to close the gates.

Partially due to the fact that most in game descriptions of them go out of their way to state that the Nords love for battle is...unsettling. Tongues aside, seeing as how most Nords seem rather comfortable with the idea that they'll die exceedingly violent deaths, I can understand why some people would head in the opposite direction.

They're taller than the Altmer and more buff than a Nord. They could fight you while naked and still rip your heart with their their bare hands.

Yeah, they did rather well for dealing with straggling forces while 80% of the main focus was on Cyrodiil.

Unless you were referring to someone else...

Yeah, those http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/obstx_fallofaldruhn.jpgwere total child's play. I mean, its not like they did any major damage to any sort of http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Crystal_Tower that doesn't keep Mundus operating as is.

You mean the fairy dusters that are burning in their shacks? I'm confident the Dremora are terrified of them no doubt.

You're the one saying it wasn't a big deal. Not me.

The only province that "fared well" is Black Marsh. As they were the only ones to actually repel the forces.
