the Tetris Movie

Post » Fri Oct 03, 2014 9:17 am

so, you have probably heard they are making a movie out of the classic puzzle game we call "Tetris"

whats your opinion on this?

Personally I think it is one of the worst ideas i heard in a long time.. first of all its supposed to have a "story" and "show that Tetris is more than putting blocks in a line"..
Tetris is NOT anything more than putting blocks in a line.. its a simple yet addicting game, and thats perfectly fine!

giving a Story to Tetris is like giving a story to tic-tac-toe or rock-paprer-scissors, it just won't work..

plus its made by the same guys as the Mortal Kombat movies, which were terrible, than again, game based Movies NEVER work

I think its just their way of profiting on our child-hood nostalgia

anyways, enough of my rant, whats your opinion on the Tetris film?

All I know is that it'll undoubtedly have the best movie soundtrack of all time.

I'm reminded of the Simpsons, the "tic tac toe; X v O" trailer :lmao:

Scary how how parodies are becoming reality

It'd be perfect for a mocu-u-drama. Over the top seriousness about how one was so addicted to Tetris that it affected, work, marriage, grades...high stakes tournements, etc. Something like Best in Show.

It could be hilarious!

I actually thought Battleship was kind of a fun movie (although obviously a repurposed script for some other alien invasion movie changed to fit the title.)

You ask me, who cares? Could be good, could be bad. If it's bad, then I don't see the harm, and if it turns out to be a fun and interesting movie then that's great. too.

...

What?

I honestly have no idea how to respond to this information. I have no idea how you can make a story out of Tetris.

I'm going to have to see this thing.

Well they made a game out of Battleship. I didn't think it was possible. Like the movie so who knows, the Tetris movie can be ok. If someone is imaginative enough, anything is possible.

Apparently the writers are having a tough time.

Every time they finish a line, it disappears.

After they made a movie out of Battleship, there's no more ways Hollwood can surprise me in how much crap they'll pull from a sewer to try and pass off as a movie. It's only a matter of time before they try to make a movie about a sandwich wrapper in a trash can.

Maybe it will be an epic cold war drama about the failure of the Buran space shuttle project?

Not sure about this. I used to use Tetris as a facetious example of a role playing game (in my head), imagining myself as a loader at the end of a conveyor belt.
