The textures are abysmal

Don't get me started on the shadow's why are they so ****** pixelated?

Never thought I'd say this, but Skyrim can be pig ugly at times.

The shadows are definitely terrible looking, and because of how important they are look doubly terrible. There are lots of really low res and just plain ugly textures in this game. Beth doesn't care though, I doubt you can notice it when playing on a console. Thankfully (if you are on PC) you can fix it with user made textures.

The mod community, fixing Beth's terrible PC ports since 2006.

I take it you have that mod/ Our of curiosity, what size are the textures? Not in kbs, but in area/ Are they still 512x512?

When it comes to quality gaming, NOTHING is more important than textures ... not even animations!

There really just needs to be a texture pack that does NOTHING but replace the low end res textures with textures that fit in line with the rest. Not all of us want/need/can use 2k-3k res textures on every freaking object, seeing as 90% of gpu's use 1gb of vram, 2k textures on everything is limited only to the 10% of users. (Default textures use only 500-600mb of vram, so there is easily room for fixing just the worst textures.)

I am one of those with 2gb vram, but I still agree with this. It's more about everything fitting together, disappointing that in the vanilla game so many textures are such low res they look out of place with the rest. Windhelm is especially bad. I'm using the 2k texture mod but what I really want is a mod that just makes everything consistent.
