The things you would like in skyrim pole.

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 5:01 am

Ok first things first the Ballista was at the top so let me link the ballista. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballista I know the top pic is large but they were smaller and could hurle stones or large spears. I would love an in depth economy where we can relax a bit and focus on crafting and more real life stuff just chilling a bit. I would love pretty much anything to do with ships also if it is done right it would be very cool. I would love pretty much every weapons I added in because we could really use some new weapons here. It could work well I think. I would love mounted combat with multiple mount types only if it can be done right. If it isn't added lets just pretend that we are all retards un able to fight on horseback. It may un balance things but there are weapons used against mounted fighters like spears and a good bow with some cover. It is meant to give you an advantage and why not? It would be fun running from a group of bandits on shaggy ponys chasing you through the woods shooting and throwing javelins at you. It could be done look at Mount and blade games. They arnt nearly as good as Bethesda Studios and it works for them. I would like actually real conflicts not like the tiny not even deserving to be called a battle of bruma. If it works lets have skirmishes of men like 15ish or so vs 15ish or so with armys at like 300 if possible? At least make it seem real. I would love a in depth hardcoe mode like in Fallout games.

Sorry I spelled Poll wrong I was distracted at the time. :)

Please post to further share your thoughts past the pole. It might even give us new ideas. :D

This poll is mostly about combat. Oh and you spelled poll wrong lol. I'm hoping to have big groups of people attack each other in battles hopefully with no lag.

This. I hated the miniscule battles for Oblivion

You should really really really learn how to spell.

Especially if you are sixteen and English is your native language (your profile says you are from Pennsylvania so I am assuming it is, am I correct?).

Anyway. Mounted combat would be cool if it was done right, but it seems like that'd be difficult and/or time-consuming for the developers to implement. Ships and sea-related economy and such are a must and as far as I know are going to be in the game.

I'm completely content with the weapons that they are currently going to have in the game.

Any significant battles should be a little larger than those of Oblivion, but not like a hundred people on each side, because that would just get insane and I doubt the engine could handle that.

And yes, if you want to focus on the more mundane aspects of the game, you obviously should be allowed to. If it's in the game, you should be able to concentrate on it.

Should we be able to take a more peacefull rout?

My definition of a peaceful route is completing missions/quests with minimal killing through stealth/charm/deceive, not farming and making money.

I get the whole thing about spelling bro trust me I do. Ok and Mount and Blade pulled it off (mounted combat) so I know TES can.

Do you have a grudge against others doing so? Just wondering and I get that for a peacefull rout. But this is an RPG and I would like them for a side element. Hacking and slashing no matter how epicly well done can get old after a time. I would love to be the listener and a Mercanary. But also have farms and mines along with a small shiping company. Perfect cover lol. Imagin I am highred to hunt the listener (myself)

I find the idea of mounted combat to be interesting, but I doubt Bethesda would add it. I'd imagine being a mage on a horse would be much like Red Dead Redemption? Eh not really but it would still be sick.

It would be NOTHING like RDR.

if mounted combat could be implemented well it would be a good feature alot easier to raid and pillage on horseback can carry more loot to. as for ships sure! why not! so long as i can raid them for spoils! as for taking a peaceful role i always do a nice sharp arrow between the first and second vertebrae they die before they even feel the arrows bite or hit the ground. see? a peaceful death!! and as for weapons the more the better be they lances pole arms crossbows or generally any primitive over glorified kitchen implement or hunting tool i would absolutely love a wrist mounted miniature crossbow though.as for the rebellion some border skirmishes but i dont want them getting in the way of my shots otherwise one unlucky fellow is going to have a rough day.

I would love to see a Flail weapon in action, in the modern games of graphic sharpness and realistic physics.

I also would love to see a more extended usage of poisons that could help my assassin Bosmer along.

Just a note:

"I say we go and ignore the war and just adventure and hack and slash woot. (if you say yes to this your a moron)"

I voted for this option just because of your unnecessary (and amusingly misspelled) editorial commentary.

I am not biased I just was sharing my opinion in what I hoped was a slightly amusing way.

I would love to see a Flail weapon in action, in the modern games of graphic sharpness and realistic physics.

I always use an assassin like character so I added the poisons in there. Besides for realism it is a must. I mean bro alot of leaders in history were poisoned. Napoleon: Arsenic Alexander The Great: poisoned by Cassander. Cleopatra used poison for suicide. That is just 3 off the top of my head. So I am really glad the poison option is getting alot and flails could be interesting to use.

Just a note:

"I say we go and ignore the war and just adventure and hack and slash woot. (if you say yes to this your a moron)"

Ok I think we all got past miss spelling and as I said above I did the stuff in parentheses to show my opinion and to hopefully get a small chuckle or two.

Yes, I'd like to see mounted combat,

Yes to ships (I'm more interested in boats, actually...rowboats, longboats, etc.)

Yes to ALL the weapons listed. The more the better, as long as they work well in the game without being glitchy all the time.

Yes to a "more peaceful route". I voted for the first two choices I think.

Some of the options on the rest of the poll are offensive/annoying, because I definitely WILL have characters who ignore any sort of a "war", and they will do their own thing. Why is this so wrong? Aren't RPGs all about doing your own thing/following your own path?

Guess that makes me a "moron", but at least I know how to spell. :P

I would like spears crossbows.Navy but no cannons maybe muskets or blunderbuss but cannon came first in real life so maybe not but but I feel like they should have three different bows short bows long bows and crossbows.short bad power damage but faster rate of fire. long bow good damage range ok rate of fire. crossbow huge damage and range but slow reload.
But I would settle for axes or maces or a short sword and a mace or ax.

Big battle would be great for warriors but sneaksters no so because if you try to kill a lot it would be very difficult.
