The H?thvír, Yes or No.

I know that this is not the Eragon universe, but this is a really cool weapon that I think should be added to the game. It could go into blade or maybe there could be a diferent skill for it. Maybe it is alreaddy in the game  either way I want to know your opinion about it so here is its wiki link.

a two-bladed sword? That seems like a good way to accidentally stab yourself.

If you know how to use it probably not, bt it is definitely nto a halberd as you suggested.

So it's basically Darth Maul's lightsaber, but without the batteries.

So basically you want a glaive with 2 pointy ends. That seems like it would require far too much effort to make the other end anything more than just for looks.

If you are a idiot yeah, if you actually learned how to use one it would be a very effective weapon.

I used this type of weapon before, quite versatile, but don't think you could copy and paste the animations necessary for it to be featured properly. I say it wont be included.

If you're so smart, I'm sure Bethesda would love your animation skills at their studio to animate this item for their game.

I just dont think it is a practical weapon, you might as well have a dagger that is on fire, also in order to make it there would need to be new animation sets and I would rather have something else
also it is a double bladed sword, where are the hilts? or are you just gonna get your fingers chopped off, becuase a metal sword wont just stop if you block it, it is gonna slice down, so every time you block you lose a finger

How did we go from real world application to animation?

You said it the weapon is a good way to stab yourself. Of course it is if you don't have the training, like with all sharp pointy objects.

You really seem to like to make every post slightly passive aggressive towards something.

There was something like this in Blood Omen 2, except in that game the blades were spring-loaded, so when it was strapped to Kain's back, it was just a long strip of metal, but when he whipped it out, the blades sprung (and presumably locked into place), and he could wield it much like Darth Maul. I thought it was neat, but clearly fit well into that sort of steampunk-ish game. But with both blades constantly exposed, I'm not even sure what sort of scabbard a thing like that would have. How would you carry it? How would you keep from poking yourself and your loved ones when you're just walking around? How would you get it out of said scabbard when you wanted to use it on someone? Someone said they'd used a weapon like this before. How does it work?

If you're so smart, why'd you call it a Halberd.
And then not even correct yourself.

If you read the wiki page, it said that the blades can come on and off for travelling. and i suppose that you would carry it strapped to your back like a claymore.

exactly my point, one of the reasons halberds and spears are wood is becuase when someone smacks it with a sword, it stick, with metal it slides

I hiiiighly doubt the animation would be difficult by game developers at all. This is a highly practical weapon that is a step up from the traditional selection.

They aren't even putting spears in, mostly because the style in which they're used is much different than the style in which more traditional melee weapons are used. Good luck getting them to include entirely new sets of animations and combat style for a far more obscure weapon that would feel entirely out of place.

Yeah, this would be really out of place. Not just kinda out of place, like, really out of place, white guy in the middle of China out of place.

That's what hand guards are for. You don't block with a double blade polearm, you deflect and move.

Adding such a weapon would be a waste of time. It doesn't even fit in with the Skyrim theme. Wait until Akavir is given some face time in an Elderscrolls game for exotic weapons.
