I agree i am very angry right now
IF BETHESDA WAS GOING TO MAKE CYRODIL THEY SHOULD HAVE WAITED. THEY SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH SKYRIM,ARGONIA, OR EVEN ELSWEYR .
THEY DENIED US THE VERY HEART OF THE EMPIRE
DAMN THEM
DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL
YOU BLEW IT
YOU REALY REALY BLEW IT
WHY
WHY
DAMN YOU BETHESDA DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU DAMN YOU
THEY DONT DISERVE THE ELDER SCROLLS

Despite the fact that the Elder Scrolls is Bethesda's creation? Also, you shouldn't damn people. It's generally not a nice thing to do.

When a child is abused the state takes it away it should apply to Bathesda.

Doesn't change the fact that they [censored] up by turning an interesting and highly cosmopolitan jungle province divided along unique political and cultural lines but united under the over-arching banner of the legions and the worship of Talos and all the Nine into a bland 16 square miles of New England forest with samey 15th-century French/English buildings anywhere and copy/paste Ayleid dungeons that in no way resembled cities. Also, what they did to Mannimarco must never be forgotten, even if Skyrim is awesome enough to warrant forgiveness.

I smell a protest to a future remake.

I think the main quest of Skyrim will have us reunite the Empire in some way. Something like the Warp in the West maybe?

OR, lousy game design.

Cyrodiil was suppose to have vast jungle-forests, developers said "nope."
Manimarco was suppose to be a several hundred year old Lich, developers said "nope."
Imperial City was suppose to be the heart of the empire and have thousands of citizens, "nope."
Imperial nobility, varying culture base on region, "nope."

We can't base our opinion of The Empire on what we saw in Oblivion.

Except we're not talking about children. We're talking about a video game franchise. Let's keep things in proper perspective.

I agree that for a province that is supposed to be as massive, deep and unique as Cyrodiil, they really should have waited and given us one of the other provinces first. It takes a stretch to believe the small island of Vvardenfell is substantially more populated with a deeper culture and seem much older than the heart of a great expansive empire and the largest province on the continent.

Or just done Colovia instead of the whole province, you'd think there would be more variety

Vvardenfell: swamps, plains, Ashlands, Daedric ruins, Dwemer ruins, Imperial forts, Imperial towns, Hlaalu towns, Redoran crabtowns, Telvanni pod towns,
Cyrodill:
Forest, Snowy forest, swamps, Ayleid ruins, Ruined Forts

The ruined forts would have been semi-acceptable if you could refurbish them as a questline

I may be wrong, but I don't believe we will killing Alduin. The dragonborn will simply prevent him from destroying the world. Killing the god of time/creation/destruction is probably not the best way to save the world. ;)

For the second time, these are not children we are talking about! Please use a better anology. Perhaps you could compare the games to cakes or pies.

I'd say it would be best to drop this conversation.

So what do you suppose the Imperial race will be called when the Empire is history?

Heartlanders would make a good name. Perhaps they could be called Post-Imperials or maybe Heartland Men, Aylead translated into "Heartland High Elves"

I am very interested myself to see how Imperial culture has changed. Me and my friend were discussing it last night, the Imperials were much more...well...Imperial in Morrowind than they were in Oblivion. There was no culture in Oblivion, for any race. They were all just bland...nothing.

That isn't the point though, I was just throwing that out there.

The Empire went into a decline when Uriel died, it is not as if Martin did anything with his whole twenty minutes of being Emperor, yet Titus Mede came in and in a way re-established it. But that was about 150 years before Skyrim...

It has been killing me trying to figure out what direction the Imperials will go in now. In the Infernal City, from what I could gather they still had outposts and towns in other provinces.

Since the imperials are in the middle I cans see them as being assimilated by the other cultures. I think they lost their MOJO to conquer other lands.
I think Skyrim will seperate and replace the empire.
like I said before after this game we should petition a remake of oblivion to be made when they have the technology to put in thousands of people.
