Questions on Godhood

Now, having presented my question as if it were some scholarly article or such, I shall ask it.

I was thinking on the tribunal and their nature as gods and immortals, and I bagan to wonder about something

If they are truly divine now, then why do they need to bathe again in the heart's power every year?

Perhaps this question is due to my lack of understandung

The power of their godhood was akin to batteries, if they don't get recharged they run down. Not much use in being a god if you don't have any power to do anything...

Walter:They're truly divine, it's just it's a stolen divinity. Lorkhan's Heart is the source of their power. I like Luagar's anology. It's a bit like batteries; if they don't access the Heart every so often, their powers begin to dwindle.

By the time of Morrowind, they've been so long without the Heart's power that they are probably at .0000000000001% of their full power.

At their height, oh boy, were they powerful, just not as powerful as, say, a Daedric Prince. Remember, it took Sotha Sil, Almalexia, and another guy (name I can't recall right now) to banish Mehrunes Dagon, and it wasn't a walk in the park.

Considering they were mortals, once, the Tribunal are pretty awesome.

Same for Talos, but it's a little different, and not that interesting.

And, seeming that Ayem and Vehk are still very powerful by the time Morrowind happens, they don't need to bathe "every year" to maintain thier status. Every time you eat something, do you really need to eat, or are you doing so just becuase it tastes nice?

I guess my biggest downfall was believing Vivec
I became very confused while doing some research (specifically on dragon break) And I was not understanding things. This kind of helps me put it into better perspective.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the "alternating" part. I thought it was more... static.

I think that when they tapped into the Heart, the parts of them which are Gods actually became bound to the Heart - parts of it forever.

The bodies that we see are their physical avatars, which they use to walk around the world in, but those avatars need recharging now and then.

There are four who bathed in the heart - four mortals turned Gods.

One for each chamber of the Heart.

And they beat there still, even in the absence of their physical forms..perhaps.

That seems very abstract. Is that your own musing, or do you have a source?

My own musing, but it seems logical since there were references to them "binding themselves" to the heart.

Also, I forgot that Vivec actually attained CHIM, but that was Vivec the Mortal - so if my hypothesis held any water that would mean there are now TWO Vivecs, one who was absorbed into the Scarab's Heart and another who was always a Mortal who then became a God.

Which is just confusing.
