The True Pelinal

Post » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:22 am

Greetings, Lore Community. I have recently become interested in the Allessian Rebellion for reasons of my own and one thing that confuses me to no end is Pelinal Whitestrike, Morihaus, and St. Allessia. Specifically, Pelinal, being he is described with so many legends and un-truths that I don't know what to believe. Word of him being an incarnation of Akatosh and Lorkhan, from the future, and so on make it so I don't know at all who he really was. Can anyone enlighten me as to his true nature?

Was he born of man, or truly a God?

How did he meet Morihaus and Allessia?

Is there any information on his original name, knowing that Pelin El was a name he chose for himself meaning Glorious Knight?

What of his travelling through time?

I know of many of the legends and such, but I need to know the real facts. The Song of Pelinal is not very trustworthy, being an oral tradition whose remaining fragments were written down. The Allessian Order and the Church of the 8 Divines threw his existance out of porportion, was he truly what they say, or was he a more reasonable warrior?

Thank you, and please offer me significant truth so that if, say you lived in his time and saw him, what he would be and do. Specifically enough to write a narrative of him, a near factual one, not of legend and lore. If it helps, I am intending to write something of the Allessian Rebellion, and need to know how to portray him. I want to be as lore correct as possible, but cannot have him be what his legend says. Thank you.

PS I have seen the other threads on him, but most were too long ago to post any questions on.

EDIT: I read, but I didn't understand >< I'm sure the song of Pelin El has some truth in it, I just can't for the life of me figure out what that is.
I read that thread, and I had no idea what he meant, either. Thanks.

From what I've seen, Pelinal is a myth-echo of both Akatosh and Lorkhan simultaneously. anything else I have to say on the subject is stuff you've already read (apparently).

Also, Pelinal is "http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?act=findpost&hl=&pid=12033196" to quote MK. And no I can't tell you exactly what that means, for I don't know myself.
