The True Power of Conjuration

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:28 am

Just thinking out loud, wouldn't it be cool if we could use conjuration at it's finest? I've always wanted to summon any npc I desired, including those that have long passed away. Why not have the ability to summon Azura or Hermaus Mora in our world if we desire to do so? (With terrible consequences) Maybe even the ability to teleport ourselves to oblivion and back. I, for one, would love an expansion that allows us to learn a spell that sends us to Coldharbour or Apocrypha.

There is a simple reason.

Daedric Princes have the pwoer of Gods, summoning one like a normal Daedra would cause them to simply destory you.

On travelling to other planes of Oblivion, read the book The Doors of Oblivion. It is really hard, very dangerous and risky and sounds near impossible ot get back.

"Do you think they would ever include this in-game?"

Summoning Princes was actually a part of Daggerfall. Each lord has a specific date (and/or event) you can summon them on. If it was raining, and you did the ritual, you would always get Sheogorath to Rick Roll you.

That was always summoning them in order to worship them, I think the OP is talking more aobut summoning them to do your will.

actually no book says it is hard to get back, no book talksabout it iirc, and it is only risky to the unprepared (such as the ash pits need magical levitation and breathing, or hircine has deadly creatures always hunting for mortals)

i like the idea myself, but the deadric princes would eaither kill you or just do something strange/chaotic (who KNOWS what sheogorath will do, he could give you millions of cheese rolls...or turn nirn into a giant cheese roll, his choice), and dont forget the ability to talk to people over great distances (even over the barrier to oblivion)

If I was Boethia and was randomly summoned by some chump master Conjurer I would probably just slaughter him right there. They're daedric princes, the power needed to just randomly summon them would be way out of lore.

No, I just haven't played Daggerfall. I found the book Azura and the Box inspiring. I forget the name of the second book, which is written by an apprentice describing what his master is seeing.

I don't care if my character dies in the process, I just want to witness the true power of a daedric prince.

You are thinking of

On Oblivion, and then The Doors of Oblivion, these two books decribe in the most detail Oblivion-Nirn interaction.

Binding a daedric prince to your will for something frivolous like clearing out a bandit camp would kill me a little bit.

Kinda expect a new shout, a dragon with thunder or something, an empire with less then twenty buildings, a quest line that requires typical dungeon diving.

Well since its technically an elaborate (and costly by bethesda) way to commit suicide, I'd rather see their efforts put into something more substantial.
