To me its a choice between Fallouts 2, 3, and New Vegas.

Fallout 2 is well different but it has some unique things about it that make it great

Fallout 3 is easily one of my top 5 favorite games its just I could list 2 pages on what makes Fallout 3 great

Fallout New Vegas is just as good as Fallout 3 although the bugs are a minor turnoff. Also New Vegas tried to combine some of the stuff that made Fallouts 1,2,and 3 great with Damage Threshold, Reputation, etc.

I picked New Vegas because of the Gameplay but its a really close choice between that and Fallouts 2, and 3.

No matter what I always seem to come back and play it and it never gets old

I love them all except BOS as I've only watched a friend play it and it didn't seem any good.

I voted Tactict because I hated to see it in last place but in all honesty, I really can't decide. I really loved all of the cannon games! :fallout:

Now that I think about it, I'd have to go with New Vegas. It's awsome and did a great job of continueing the storyline of the NCR without forcing you to side with them

My favorite is Fallout 3. I enjoyed its atmosphere, exploration, and first-person view (and therefore view that I found to be more immersive) more than any other Fallout game, with the exception of New Vegas and first-person view, as they both had a first-person view. I also always though there was something off about Fallout 1 and 2's turn-based combat. It's not a problem I have with turn-based combat, in general. It just seemed... off.

Tough choice between Fallout 2 and New Vegas. I went with 2 though, simply because New Reno rules. Also I've played through it multiple times and keep coming back to it. Some people think its offbeat (and sometimes non-canon) humor goes a bit too far, but I love it.

I agree they should play 1/2 I will add Tactics but I don't agree that 3 is winning. Add votes for FO1 and FO2 and New Vegas together and FO3 is behind.

Seti, Bethesda (as great of a company as they are), will never be able to produce a true Fallout game. It's just not in their ability, unless they get every Black Isles dev who worked on the original ones. Can they produce Fallout games? Sure. Can they produce ones with the same feel, not a chance. Is Fallout 3 good? Yes. Is it as good as the originals in my opinion? No. A lot of plot-holes and stuff make it not as good.

Are we ignoring every pop culture reference and wacky idiocy that made up Fallout 2 or are we allowed to dismiss those because Black Isle made it? A good Fallout game is a very subjective label. I personally think Fallout 3 is a better game and does a better job at showing a post-apocalyptic universe than Fallout 1 and 2, hence I consider Fallout 3 a better Fallout game. What is a "true" Fallout game and what makes it a "true" Fallout game as opposed to a false (?) Fallout game? The key word is also "opinion". It's your opinion and I was asked which game I like best, or at least I hope I was. I'm pretty sure that's the point of a poll and a question, so I answered.

What Kalarn said. Also Tactics was not Inteplay/Black Isle and I get more enjoyment form it then FO3.

I did what was requested. I played Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. I even tried Tactics, as it came with the others. I didn't have an epiphany.

I agree with ya, Obsidian/Black Isle did a better job on the Fallout franchise. "What is better" is of course a subjective matter but NV is still obviously superior in most factors to F3, objectively speaking.
I don't base the game solely on tourism and all this diablo safari(albeit a good looking one) can't even compare to the amount of character detail, backstories and immersion overall. All hail the return of logic and witty dialogue too! :mohawk:
Still, I won't act like I have some kind of entitelment complexes and will say that I would fookin' love to see Beth and Obsidian work together on the franchise. For real. Make it real guys at Zenimax/whatever :bowdown:

I would also add that prehaps it is true that Fallout 3 is not the same as the originals and prehaps it never will be considered to be as such. HOWEVER it is my opinon (and I believe you would agree with this) that Fallout 3 is an excellent post-apocalyptic/post nuclear holocaust game and Bethesda made a better game of this type then Obsidian/Black Isle ever did.

It is my belief, however I also recognize it as being my own subjective take so please, to anyone else, I'm not trying to discredit your opinions and I would appreciate it if that could be a mutual agreement.

To me, It's a very sad day when more people like Failout 3 than Fallout 1/2.

Fallout 3 is great if you like infinite enemies that are never a huge challenge to kill. I sort of enjoy getting mauled by deathclaws or enclave in FO 1,2,NV when my ego gets too big from slaughtering wimpy raiders.

Fallout 2 was good (Even if it had too many pop-culture references), but Fallout 3 was completely illogical.
