The Ultimate Nord Thread

Post » Mon Oct 25, 2010 11:45 pm

Well, I thought that the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1092694-the-ultimate-argonian-thread/ was deceased. Noticed it got necro'd, but I was too stoked to put up this next one, so I just did.

Morrowind Argonians seem to be the preference this time around. They won last time, also, but not by as large a margin. Daggerfall's Argonians have gone way down in popularity in the last three years and NOONE seems to like Arena Argonians anymore.

As for the Nords:
There are really two ways this can go.

Either you have a specific image in your mind of what a Nord should look like. In which case, create it by choosing from the features I have listed.

-or-

You want highly customizable, varied Nords. In which case, pick any you like.

Note: the small and big chin choices are if you want exaggerated oversized or undersized chins.

For me, I kind of like Oblivion's doughy Nords. Oddly enough.

Here are general examples of Nord http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/thelobo/Picture3-2.png?t=1274304360 and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/thelobo/Picture4-1.png?t=1274304396 from Daggerfall. I figure the Arena ones are similar enough. If you disagree, feel free to post your own Arena screenies.

When I think of Nords, I think of this guy from the movie Kingdom of Heaven

DF and MW's nords were the superior nords. Oblivions were too generic, no tattoos, and, worst of all, no beards.

I spit on OB's nords! They resembled too much like imperials and bretons.

I tried to play as a nord once in oblivion and just never got into the character. I think its because I'm from the south, and we don't like northerners.

The nords in Morrowind were a bit overpowered I think. 100% resistance to frost? Considering Bloodmoon has some dungeons filled entirely with enemies casting frost spells, isn't that a bit like cheating? Oblivion was on the right track there but 25, maybe 30 ought to be enough.

That guys scene showed why taking down a berserk german/viking can be difficult and makes for great warriors, I approve. Awesome movie my the way and was one of my favorites of all time.

I just saw the three hour director's cut the other day. It's a much better version, if you'd care to see it.

Not even gonna touch that poll, I don't even know what you're asking.
But anyway, Nords are my favorite races in the ES series, have been since Daggerfall. Played one in DF, MW, and OB. ^_^
Skyrim FTW.

Well, there's a three-way divide between different nord looks. You have the thin-faced nords of DF and Arena, the fat-faced nords of Oblivion, and the painted-faced nords of Morrowind.

Pick the features that you think are the "nordiest."

As long as they are kept a tall and strong race, I dont really care about the smaller details, but it would be cool to have all of the options.

Well, I surely hope the character creator is much improved in ESV so everyone can have what they want...

I want my tatts and beards back!

You win the internet. I always liked Nords. Hamish from Braveheart inspired my love of Nords, because he was just that much of a badass. Unfortunately, lack of beards meant I couldn't make a Nord in OB look like him.

Whoa buddy! Even the woman you say?!? lol

Anyways, I always thought Nords were cool, until OB. In OB the Nords look like utter retards. In Morrowind they got the thin nose, REGULAR SIZED LIPS, and have cool hair and face paint, thats the only game I ever was a Nord.( I never bothered playing a nord in Daggerfell) Also I know I said this in many, many threads before, but since this is a ultimate nords threads, here I go again.

Nords have a horrible voice actor, you can not share the same voice as orcs, even if is for saving money and disk space!!!

I think both genders should have defined cheekbones and their faces and hair lengths, styles, should be just like they were in Morrowind. The tattoos should be both in the creation screen and the shops or accessible through rewards.
