The Ultra Luxe Convention

The Ultra Luxe Convention

Graciously hosted by the White Glove Society!

It has been 18 months since the Second Battle for Hoover Dam. Mr. House has taken power in the Mojave, and the NCR, unfortunately, is beginning to collapse. The several nations of the west have gathered here in the Ultra Luxe to make decisions to bring House's and his allies' new regimes to life. These decisions might be the salvation or ending of the NCR.

Praise for Gingy's Conventions:

May I just say that this is the most fun I had on a forum in a LONG TIME? I love it!
Yeah this [censored] really is something special Gingy, thanx for putting it together bro.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

Spoiler
-If you have no idea what you're doing, then either wait for the more experienced posters to make their entrance to see how it works, or even better, read the links that I put on one of my posts on this thread.
-Do not overdo your posting on this thread. We have a LOT of people in this, so I don't want to hit the post limit every five minutes. If you need to reply to multiple people talking to you in the thread, make a multi-quotes, not multiple posts.
-Try to use good grammar or people probably won't take you very seriously.
-Under NO conditions will people role-play fight. It stirs up the thread and is very annoying.
-Try not to make OP posts. "Oh, we'll nuke you sky-high if you don't give us money," etc.
-I don't know who has done the DLCS, so while there are a few DLC-oriented factions, don't make MAJOR DLC spoilers.
-For the people who are playing classic factions, I'm not going to make any lore for them, so use your knowledge of those factions and/or read the wiki when making an opening-post and back story. The entire House ending will be in a spoiler tag on the opening post.
-If you are an ass to the other ambassadors, you aren't going to make very many deals. It's good to have friends at these conventions.
-Don't stress out if suddenly you don't see the convention in the General Discussion. 90% of the time, after about a day, the admins move the conventions to the Art and Fan Fiction section. We simply put it in the General Discussion for attention.
-DON'T use the convention for OOC related stuff. If you want to say something out of the roleplay, come to this thread. I'll put a link to this on the convention itself.\
-I'm 100% sure that there will be multiple (maybe even 3-or-4) threads for every convention because there are a lot of people, and we will hit the post limit fast. If we hit post limit, we follow up on it by quickly making a new thread, but we don't do anything fancy. We just go right where we left off.
-House in ways can be OP because his position has a lot of power, but the representative (me) will try his best not to become totally OP.
A few really important things:
-Some people really do have lives even in the summer, so if someone doesn't post, well it obviously means that they are busy or doing something else, so don't pressure people into posting when they don't have the time. That was one of the big issues in some of the older conventions.
-Try to take it at least a tad bit seriously. There are a lot of people in this convention. The list of factions has tripled in size since last time, and we are making progress in filling all the spaces.
-Have fun!

Ambassador Cole DeLonge- Robert Edwin House

*Cole walks into the "Members Only Section" of the Ultra-Luxe, where a very long table is extended across the room. He searches the room for a place to sit, and notices a large-and-cushioned armed chair with the Old World Flag inscribed. Under it reads: "Mr. House". He sits down.*

Waiter, may I please have a glass of cold water?

*Cole lays back in his chair and looks over. Ulysses' seat is to his left, while the Desert Ranger seat is to his right. He falls asleep, waiting for the other ambassadors to arrive...*

Simon - Van Graff Ambassador

The dark-skinned man, Simon, walked through the door. He was donning his usual Van Graff combat armour, but had been instructed not to use any Energy Rifles, instead wielding a Plasma Pistol. He had a stern look on his face, clearly taking this convention seriously. He was, after all, acting on behalf of his bosses - Gloria couldn't be there since she was involved in a vital business deal at the Silver Rush, while Jean-Baptiste... well he wasn't exactly a talker. Gloria didn't trust him not to screw things up. Nonetheless, someonehad to be there if they were going to compete with the Reno branch.

A chair labelled "Van Graffs" was located close to the door. Simon seated himself in a rigid position, and asked for a glass of wine. Truthfully, he was uncomfortable. He wasn't exactly a negotiator - not as good as Gloria, but also not as psychotic as Jean-Baptiste. Gloria had filled Simon in on her tactics for negotiating, and told him what the Van Graffs must have, what they want to have and what they can sacrifice. He was stern, rigid, uncomfortable, absolutely. Though he was confident that her information would grant him success here. The waiter brought him his wine, and he downed it immediately, asking for another. Only now did he acknowledge the man that was already in the room with him. He'd asked for a glass of water. Simon lifted his glass, nodding slightly but remaining silent.

Frankie- Chairmen Representative

As Frankie walks into the Ultra-Luxe, he is a bit wary. Even though he has a silenced .22 tucked away, he doesn't like the fact that the convention is in his rivals casino, and he has heard weird things about the White Glove Society. The casino its self looks extravagant, A very upper class casino. Frankie makes his way to the members only section where the convention is being held. As he enters the room he notices a man sitting off to the side in a large chair and another man sitting in a chair by the door. The man sitting by the door is wearing Van Graff combat armor, so Frankie knows what he is representing. As for the man in the arm chair, Frankie could only guess. As he looks around the room for his chair, he finally finds it... next to the white glove society. Oh great. Across the table is the omertas, the Chairmen's other rival. As a waiter enters the room, Frankie asks for some booze. After all, this is going to be a long day.

Ah... I am glad that the Chairmen sent a representative here. Mr. House looks favorably upon Swank's business sense and loyalty. He's a much better leader than Benny.

Anybody would be a better leader than Benny. It's a marvelous thing that snake got popped. Swank has been very smart with our business. We are getting more customers than ever. It's great to see that the Boss sent you here as well. How's he been doing?

Ambassador Cole DeLonge- Mr. House

NCR's business has increased rapidly over the last year, so we are doing very well. Mr. House's dreams for Vegas are coming to effect as we know it. In fact, in addition to having the monorail run on time, Freeside is doing quite well under the Kings' leadership and their new-found electricity from HELIOS One.

I'm glad that the Kings are doing well in Freeside. We wish that the electricity from HELIOS One was directed towards the strip, but at least the Kings aren't letting it go to waste.

Elder Nolan McNamara- Mojave Brotherhood of Steel

*McNamara enters the "Members Only" section of the Ultra Luxe wearing a dark blue Brotherhood Elder Robe, he carries a modified laser pistol holstered to his side. McNamara looks relatively young, however, his characteristic bleach white hair often gives a different impression in that regard.*

*A paladin of the brotherhood of steel enters along with McNamara, who is is personal assistant and bodyguard for this occasion, he carries a tri-beam laser rifle and looks around at the room before he and McNamara proceed. McNamara gazes at the extravagance around him, which is a far-cry from the cold-sterile bunker at Hidden Valley*

*McNamara sits in a seat located in the middle section of the table, the paladin taking his position directly behind him. McNamara folds his hands in his lap and looks around at the seated delegates.*

"Hello I am Elder Nolan McNamara, leader of the Mojave Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel and I come to represent my brothers and sisters in full capacity as their leader and defacto ambassador. I do appreciate the invitation, it was certainly a surprise given the circumstances."

*McNamara then turns to a ultra-luxe waiter*

"Waiter, I'd like a nuka cola if you have one available. I am quite partial to them."

Simon - Van Graffs

"Well when it comes to Energy Weapons in the Mojave, we're unbeatable. When it comes to Energy Weapons throughout America, well... we ain't far off. Mama Van Graff out in Reno has the lead over us. I guess that's our purpose here, ultimately. We wanna compete with them. And of course, reward those that help us reach that level." Simon shuffled in his seat. "And the Chairmen? Swank's leading you well, I hear. Good to know that the Van Graffs ain't the only smart business in the wasteland. You lost the dead weight Benny brough and replaced him straight away with someone competent. Heck of a business sense you guys got."

"Eh. They're the dealers, sure, but way I see it, they ain't doing much. The Van Graffs, the Wrangler, Mick 'n Ralph... they're the the dogs holding the cards. Without 'em the Kings don't have a Freeside to rule. But yeah... our position's good. We get a lot of business from people leavin' the Wrangler. If they're drunk, we shoo 'em off. If not, the bosses are in with a chance of getting a profit. The Kings are good for Freeside, I'll admit that. It's better off with a symbolic, gang-like ruler than it was with nobody to guide it."

Ambassador Cole DeLonge-Mr. House

*Addresses all of the ambassadors in the room*

As you know, Mr. House's securitron army is not as extensive as, say, the NCR or Legion. He can't protect and control the entire Mojave. We have securitrons that patrol the highways to keep them safe, but I'm afraid not much more can be done for protection of a group such as the Legion pokes their heads in again. House has primarily left the Mojave independent except for Goodsprings which is graciously protected by a securitron. Believe me, that's more than enough to protect a settlement. However, House and I believe that the different settlements need to be recognized on their own.

None of the settlement ambassadors have shown up quite yet, but I believe that we can establish counties for each settlement to ensure that they can protect and govern themselves until House is in a position to guide them. I propose that we unite the Mojave under self-governing counties, and each settlement can offer at least a few capable men, or perhaps women, to train to fight, and will be called on to protect the Mojave if such a threat arises. Not to mention, with capable men and women around, the Mojave would be safer from gangs and raiders, as well as outside threats.

If this falls into place, perhaps I can arrange deals with the Gun Runners and Van Graffs to keep them equipped.

"Interesting proposal... truth is, I predicted such an idea from somebody here. I thought it would be one of the settlements, but nonetheless, it was obviously coming." Simon chose not to reveal that Gloria had done such thinking for him. "Might I say this - the Van Graffs would, for the right deal, be willing to go one better and provided not only energy weapons, but also armed and trained men to help protect the towns." Simon chose to remain silent about Gloria's conditions - he wanted to hear other people's reactions first, as well as see how House's Ambassador treated such an idea.

Capo Louie Salvatore- the Salvatore family

*Louie enters the members only section of the Ultra Luxe with a grim look on his face, wearing a black suit and a matching fedora and mirroring sun glasses.*

*Louie taps his chest just to make sure that he had his Wattz 1000 laser pistol tucked away. He then takes his seat at the table and looks at each of the other ambassadors.*

He first addresses Mr. Houses representative:

"Mister Salvatore gives his thanks for your hospitality he was sure I'd receive here in Vegas. He has high hopes for this meeting."

Louie turns to address the Van Graff ambassador:

"I take it you're the one the Mojave Van Graffs sent to attend? If so, I have a proposal for you."

Louie wipes sweat off his forehead and asks a waiter for a cigar. It arrives quickly and Louie lights it.

The Chairmen don't have a place to say whether or not the Mojave should be united. However, we would be willing to help pay for the Gun Runners and Van Graffs equipment if we could get something in return.

Montmorency ???-White Glove Society Represenative

*THWAK! THWAK! The door opens and a very tall, thin man holding a recently bloody cane and a holsterd revolver with pearl grip enters. The bottom of his mask is gone revealing a massive, creepy smile. His large eyes are bright and disconcertingly cheery. He looks momentarily nonplussed seeing he made his grand entrance to so few people, but quickly puts on his "creepily nice" persona.*

"Gentlemen! How do you like our new http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39336? The http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39416? Now, I thought I should let you know; since this is our home, we decided to take some steps to ensure everybody's protection." *All along the balconies, White Gloves, each with an individual mask, appear. They either armed with a engraved 9mm pistol or a gold-plated, lever-action rifle. All are carrying dress canes.*

*In a much more sinister voice* "Now then, let's start this show" *moves so quickly and silently to his seat it takes everyone a second to realize he moved at all. Once there, he claps his hands and a burlesque show starts.*

Ambassador Cole DeLonge-Mr. House
Snip

*looks at the ambassador with some contempt*
I assure you Mr. Delonge, that the Ultra-Luxe is quite capable of protecting itself without your robotic army.

OOC: Am I allowed to use cursive? I want to make his speech really fancy.
Also, what happened to the White Gloves? I feel them going cannibal would fit with their new "creepy" motif.

Taylor Brigham-Mormon Remnants

Taylor Brigham steps into the Ultra-Luxe, without saying a word he takes his seat and begins to look around. He is amazed at the architecture of New Vegas, but at the same time he is put-off by its dedication to vice and sin. Still the Mormon Remnants have been in a tough spot and this convention could be their chance to turn it around. Gathering his strength he stands up and prepares to address the convention.

"Excuse my interruptions but if House would like to set up an arms deal to supply the newly freed settlements, I believe our unique and powerful .45 Pistols could do the job nicely. For over three hundred years my people, and the old world they inhabited have turned to this pistol as both a military and self-defense aid. We would be more than willing to trade these guns if we can be promised a place to stay."

OOC: Short into because I must go soon!

OOC: Cursive will be more annoying and tedious to understand. It's just dialogue.

I explained this earlier, I think. Mortimer was exposed for cannibalism and killed, while the Courier convinced Heck Gunderson not to make a food blockade. So no, the White Gloves aren't cannibals at the moment.

If you're going to say something OOC, I suggest you use the thread that's specifically for OOC.

Capo Louie Salvatore- the Salvatore family

Louie turns to address the Van Graff ambassador:

"I take it you're the one the Mojave Van Graffs sent to attend? If so, I have a proposal for you."

Simon - Van Graffs

Simon addressed Louie right away... after all, they were based out of Reno, same as the larger Van Graffs branch. That could be good or bad, but either way, it was bound to pique the Van Graffs' interests, even though Gloria hadn't predicted any kind of offering from the Salvatores.

"You have my ear. We got big plans so we're gonna make the most of this convention... I'll listen to any deal you got to offer."

Frankie- Chairmen Representative

The Chairmen would love to purchase some of your .45 pistols. Unfortunately, we are not in a place to be able to give you and your people a place to stay. However, with the caps that we would pay you for the pistols, maybe you could purchase some land to make your own place to stay. Would you be willing to sell us some of your pistols?

Elder Nolan McNamara- Mojave Brotherhood of Steel

"Well when it comes to Energy Weapons in the Mojave, we're unbeatable.

*McNamara raises an eyebrow*

Oh, really? That seems like quite the assumption to make Mr. Simon.

*McNamara then turns to Ambassador Cole*

"A fair proposal from Mr. House I would think. Although the Brotherhood is currently independent of its own accord. Although we welcome the chance to safe-guard all our futures with successful diplomacy."

*McNamara pauses for a moment, choosing his words carefully*

"My first request in this negotiation then, is that the Brotherhood would like the return of the Helios One Solar Power Plant. Effective immediately."

Taylor Brigham-Mormon Remnants

Taylor is pleased that he managed to interest someone with his humble offer, turning towards Frankie he smiles and replies,

"Of course we'd be willing to sell you some of our weaponry, and don't worry about not being able to give us somewhere to stay; that part of my offer was more of a question for Cole about whether my people could even settle in The Mojave.

Capo Louie Salvatore- the Salvatore family

"I have heard that the Mojave branch of the Van Graff family is not in friendly terms with the rest who are at Reno. That leads me to believe that you'd appreciate if their business would be crippled. My proposition is this: You send some energy weapons to our boys in Reno, who are currently wielding only laser pistols while the Van Graffs have more effective weaponry. We should have enough men to drive them out of our former turf in western Reno if you'd be kind enough to arm us."

*Louie inhales the cigar, long and deep, and blows the smoke out in massive cloud.*
