[RELz] The Undead v3.0

Great job! Now it will be more interesting to explore tombs. It always bothered me that skeletons are all the same (without clothes) as if they died naked.

Finally finished this one. It's sat half-done on my hard drive for months... kinda got distracted by real life stuff. You know how it is. Then I saw that 'Morrowind Grass Project' thread last weekend, and felt inspired. ;)

Awesome! I hope more cool projects will be inspired to be released. :twirl:

Great work my fellow Aotearoan. :foodndrink:

There's a issue of matching ID's even with the updated esm but only with MCA Names 5.2. Unticking the esp for that solves the problem but I guess we need a reworking of the Names mod.

Yeh I found that too.

I too ran into the missing sound files error. That's pretty annoying.
Adding "AllowYesToAll=1" to the ini file is not solving the problem. Just hiding it.

Neoptolemus, why not upload the missing files somewhere, so that anyone can download them and fix his game?

Great mod, this small glitch put aside.

Neo, I keep coming up with this error;

Unable to locate creature '_NP_MW_all' in Leveled Creature '_te_tombs_all'.

I'm using Tombs Expanded and the Undead Addon. I've got the addon loading after TE, used levelled lists and saved in mash, but the error is still present.

Any tips?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think this latest version of the Undead has much in common with the version in the TE addon. I don't recall if 3.0 uses any of the same ID's as the addon for TE, but if it does that would probably cause you some issues. That......and not using a leveled list merger. If neither of those two are the source of your issues, then the problem probably isn't with 3.0

I've ran into an error, it seems the sound files for "zombie roar" and various other sounds are missing (start fighting a zombie, error message pops up)

I haven't encounterd this issue yet. Do you recall which particular creature(s) it was that gave you the error? Or better yet.....do you know the name of the sound files that it says are missing?

Yay! Now if only I got time to finish my own mods... :)

BTW, does this include relevant portions of / is it compatible with Neo's Unique Creatures? I would assume that it's compatible, given that you made them both, but... ;)

Not sure about the compatibilities, except that Neo was addressing for MCA 6.0 and in this thread - http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=861026&hl= - he indicated that - " Updates for The Undead, Ranked Dremora and MCA 6.0 are also on their way..."

Hey, I have a bit of a problem. I installed the mod through the installer, but it appears that there is some sort of animation error, because every time I try to move outside of Seyda Neen, this error pops up:

NiAnimation Error: Object "Bip01 Tail" not found in NiAnimation.
Unable to LayerActivate for AnimGroup "Idle6" for "CLONE _MCA_skeleton_cripple0200000000".

I have Liztail's animation kit, and my first thought as soon as I saw "Tail" in the first error was that perhaps there's some kind of issue there. But I merged all objects and leveled lists, and I don't use MCA, so should I just click 'Yes to All', or is there a better way to fix this?

THe mod looks very well-done, so I do hope I can get this one to work for me. Thanks for the help.

This sort of error is the reason to run the "fix_anim_errors" program that comes with the kit. Hopefully that should fix it.

You have to run that program whenever you install a new mod that uses the player animation but doesn't include the tail or toe bones in the skeletons. If people start including tail and toe bones in the skeletons, then their animations will work both for people who don't have the kit and for people who do without errors, but the program should be able to fix them so it's no big deal.

Could you be more specific instead of just saying "they don't work together"? Because they do. So it would help if you went into detail about how they are not working together.
Are you sure you installed the patched version of MCA 5.2 from elricm as linked on the first page of this thread? The mod is called "MCA 5.2 - The Undead 3.0 Compatible".

On the first page of this thread Neoptolemus says:
"The patch won't be necessary with the new .esm. I've uploaded the file to elricm.com, so it will be available whenever they update their database."

So why is "The Undead - MCA5.2 Compatibility Patch.esp" in your gamefiles?

Have you installed the "MCA 5.2 - The Undead 3.0 Compatible", which is linked in the first post on the first page of this thread? The answer is crucial to making MCA 5.2 work with The Undead. It replaces MCA.esm from the original 5.2 distribution. Since they both have the same name, we can't really tell by looking at your load list if you have the correct one installed. You have to tell us.

The Readme for "MCA 5.2 - The Undead 3.0 Compatible" says:
This is a replacement master file for MCA 5.2 for use with The Undead 3.0, to
resolve several ID conflicts which prevent them from being used together.

Just replace your old MCA.esm with this one, then repair your saved game with
Wrye Mash.

So since you are still having ID conflict problems, it looks like you haven't installed it yet.

All the warnings in your Warnings.txt about:

"One of the files that "Necessities of Morrowind 2.1.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors."

are innocuous, but Wrye Mash will easily get rid of them and make it easier to spot real problems. Just go to the mods tab in Wrye Mash, click on the line containing the mentioned .esp file. Click in the pane to the right, then click the button below labeled "Save". That will reset the mod with respect to the date of its masters and you won't get those warnings anymore.

I don't advise anybody to download this mod. Like others have posted, there are lots of missing sound files. :^( Here are the errors I got when I met my first Phantom:

MP3 Voice file not found: data files\sound\Vo\phantoms\phantom_attack2.mp3
Sound file not found: data files\sound\Vo\phantoms\phantom_attack2.wav
MP3 Voice file not found: data files\sound\Vo\phantoms\phantom_attack2.mp3
Sound file not found: data files\sound\Vo\phantoms\phantom_attack2.wav
MP3 Voice file not found: data files\sound\Vo\phantoms\phantom_attack3.mp3
Sound file not found: data files\sound\Vo\phantoms\phantom_attack3.wav

The sound files are missing from the archives at ElricM and PES, so it seems an incomplete archive was uploaded to both of them.

If anybody has a complete archive, PLEASE upload it somewhere so others can enjoy this mod.

Update:

Anybody who wants to use this mod needs to download http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=1104 or http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.Detail&id=5047 to get the missing sound files. I'm not sure if that's all of them, but it at least has the phantom sounds the uploaded archives of version 3 are missing. Anyway, it seems logical that one or the other of these mods should have the missing sound effects - otherwise I'd expect a lot more people to have complained about this problem!

You have sound files, but do you have *all* of the sound files? For example, phantom_attack2 and 3 are missing from the currently-hosted archives, although they do have other sounds.

If you do have these missing sound effects, please upload it to PES so they can replace what they have.
