The unfortunate loss of a fellow modder.

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:03 pm

Hi all. This isnt something Id normally type up and doing so can be difficult to convey emotion, so forgive if any part of this will come off cold or insensitive, the opposite is intended.

Over at Province: Cyrodiil ZXT012 has been our administrator for a couple months now ever since Quixote stepped down. He's been with the project for a lot longer before that. Anybody who has seen even one screenshot of his work knows just how talented the guy is. In my opinion he was one of Morrowind's best exterior guys we have in the community. Well, about one month ago after no activity from him, his brother signed onto his account to inform us that ZXT had been in a car accident with a drunk driver and had been hospitalized. He told us that the doctors said he'd be out in a few weeks so we gave our well wishes and went about business awaiting his return.

Last Sunday his brother logged on again. This time he had to inform us the unfortunate news, that ZXT had passed away the night prior. From what we know, there was an infection that spread rapidly after the accident and the doctors didnt detect it in time.

This is really a shocking blow to us. We at the project have had a hard time figuring out just how to make it public so I've taken the liberty to make this thread. From what we knew of ZXT in our time working together we are all in agreement he was one of the most pleasant and respectful members of an already respectful community. I have a hard time imagining anybody having a problem with him. He really strived to make things work among differing peoples.

I dont know exactly what else to say beyond that, again Im not the best at this, so Ill just end it by saying that he will be sorely missed and our condolences go out to his grieving friends and family.

Wow. Astonishing how one can be touched by the loss if another human being, even a complete stranger. That's very sad. And and it just now occurs to me that I am going to need to include a list of web sites and passwords along with my will.

Thanks for sharing, Zackg.
It's sad to hear the community lost a great modder.

I was also recently hospitalized from a car crash, so I know very well how difficult it can be for family and friends to cope with scary news. Best wishes for his family and friends through their loss.

I do not intend to turn the thread into a drinking-and-driving conversation: but please, everyone be safe out there.

ZXT was the nicest person I have ever spoken to on any forum. He was a wonderful modder and a great leader. Over at P:C we are gearing up to begin some real work and it will be tough without ZXT with us but we know that now more than ever we need to continue with the project so that we can make ZXT's dream a reality. He will be missed and I'm sure his family is at a loss without his wonderful charm and attitude brightening their days as it did ours for such a short time.

Have to clear up the SPAMBot posts on that one. Fortunately, that member's already been banned.

A personal favorite screenshot of mine is http://cyrodiil.deejaygamer.com/photogallery.php?photo_id=62. I have to take credit for making them look just a little bit cooler using some Photoshop techniques-but the framing and incredibly scenic nature of them are all his.

He will be greatly missed.

The news post about it on the Province: Cyrodiil website can be found http://cyrodiil.deejaygamer.com/news.php?readmore=4.

Wow that's too bad. I didn't knew him personally either, but I've recognized few screenshots of his. Hopefully, many of us will become as good landscapers as he was.

May he rest in peace.

It is truly a shame. I saw those screenshots, and I was mesmerized by them. I didn't believe they could be Morrowind, they were so good. He really was one of the best exterior mod guys.

It's even more tragic that his life was cut short by stupidity. My condolences go out to his family, and the people who knew him.
