"Better red than dead!"-Libert Prime (Prime haters can hate me if they want)

This was a quote which was basicly the U.S. view on Communisim.
Of Course we hear all about those danmed red chinese invaders, But what about the U.S.S.R.?
The First Major communist country, Became a Super Power during WW 2, Influenced half of Europe and The Second Nuclear power in 1948.
So why do we not hear anything about this country?
Why is it not targeted by american propaganda?

I would think, most likley that in the FO universe China's actions far outweighed whatever russia was doing at the time. That is, China was stronger in this world.
