Well you can if you like, it all depends on how many Septims you pay me to put in a little cottage with a garden. Won't be cheap mind you Tamriel real estate is a minefield of red tape and greasing appropriate palms with coin. I'd suggest a cheap shack in the Imperial City Waterfront if funds are low, besides they let anyone in there (just kidding).

Thank you, I am off to work now, but I will post some screenshots this evening. The village took a long time to do, it was more work than I expected, but it seems to work pretty well.

A most impressive preview video, it's good enough to be a trailer for a whole game, rather than for a mod.

I have a strong suspicion this might've been thought of before, but whats the UL teams thought on the gold road Anvil-Kvatch? The Golden Plains could be a nice concept.

Hello all.

As promised here is the next Silverfish update. I've been working hard on this so here's a large batch of screenshots for people to download at their convenience, okay so it's a 73mb download, but there is roughly 77 screenshots in there. I guess those who are interested will download the rest won't, besides a new WIP video is coming soon, so if you can't download wait for the video.

Screenshot Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?zzzqjhw2mc5 (This has been edited to be the right link now)

Progress is around 80% with some new things waiting in the wings. I may reveal some of these new areas in the next update, however they still need a degree of work so I'm keeping them to myself for the moment.

New meshes are now finally being added and seem to be fitting in nicely. So more custom meshes next, some particularly unique items for Fort Commadrius, some pieces for Fort Aurus and a load of other stuff.

I've been playing with the waterfall meshes and I now have what I call my large waterfall meshes, more mist, more spray, a bit more impressive. This led to me making Niemon Falls, yep yet another big waterfall further upriver. The mesh in those screenshots is only 25% the scale of the waterfall mesh I made, so that should give people an idea of scale. Anyway everyone loves waterfalls right, if I could make the Oblivion equivalent of Victoria Falls I would, still might one day.

Even though I said a while back that the little fishing hamlet had to go, well its may be back on the cards now, time allowing of course. Put it down to me being far more experienced at what I'm doing. The Ayleid Ruins at Ondo are getting the UL treatment as well, I want all the Ayleid ruins in my mod to look as diverse as I possibly can, since in Vanilla they all look too similar for my liking. Lucky I made around 25 new Ayleid ruin meshes then isn't it? Of course I won't be using them all here, maybe in my next UL, however if any UL members want any then I'll happily oblige.

By the way since I enjoy model making, if any UL modders need anything specific building for their mod, send me a PM I'd be happy to help any other member out if I can. Note I said UL members, since I don't want every Rod, Jane and Freddy asking me not make a new outside toilet for their Fallout 3 mod.

So what is in the UL? Well new rocks, giant mushrooms yeah you read that right, I watched Journey to the Centre of the Earth too many times as a kid, so that explains that one, though there is another reason for it. New waterfall ledge pieces, so you can get a bit more out of those waterfall meshes, new stone walls, new graves and tombs, new fort ruins and more. Now theres also a more suitable model put in for the Ayleid Lighthouse at Nenalata.

I had a bad day with my UL a week ago, thankfully continually working at it has resulting in me finally gettting this how I want it. It's finally starting to fit the image in my head, not an easy thing at the best of times. I've wanted to make my own UL for a long time ever since I downloaded Ancient Yews a long time ago, Carel's work was and still is an inspiration to me. River Strid looks fabulous, light years ahead of my little mod. Having said that all the UL's are awesome I downloaded Brena River Ravine,Bravil Barrowfields and Panther River on the same day a while back and was amazed how richly diverse and beautiful they all were. Sometimes I really question whether my mod is in the same league at all , but hey I'll keep trying. I guess it's because I'm working on it and I know where all the little flaws and things that don't quite look right are and my eyes are inevitably drawn to those things. So while I may never appreciate my mod as much as I'd like to, it is my hope others will enjoy it for it's own merits.

Oh I'm also making the interior of the inn a little more upmarket, since it's rather downtrodden look doesn't fit the with the surroundings. Nothing major and nothing that will upset any quests I assure you, some new paintings, basically some of my nicer screenshots converted to paintings. (That's what you call selling your own work!) Some better rugs, a few potted plants, a little tidyup of some items, some draqes on the upper floor between beds for patron privacy.
I may still extend the gardens outside a little more. At the end of the day I want a kind of Oblivion version of Rivendell, essentially an Imperial version that Uriel Septim would be proud of. Actually maybe he stayed there, that would explain his illegitimate son wouldn't it? Maybe I should have that written on a plaque above the door, " If this place is good enough for the Emperor's Hanky Panky, then it's good enough for you"..Ha ha.

The new piece for Vigilacian's Vantage is in, albeit only with a tileable texture on it for the time being, a proper unwrap and a more appropriate texture will happen later. For the moment the model seems to work well and that's the most important thing.

In some of the shots you may see some temporary intact Fort pieces I'm trying for Fort Commadrius, these need a lot of work yet, so look at these as experiments please, not finished pieces, because at the moment in my opinion they definately don't make the grade.

So a lot more to come including some large cliff pieces I'm working on, some new wild tree roots and other new things, which will only serve to make my UL more diverse. There may also be the possiblity of a dungeon and a cave (dungeon) as well it depends how motivated I feel. No actual quests I'm afraid but I'm sure there will be a few scattered messages and books around to set suitable background stories. For example Vigilacian's Vantage will have a readable inscription explaining who this hero was, also a few fallen notes will be found around the mod explaining the mushroom experiments.

I know the Oblivion forum has fewer readers these days but I would please ask that you keep the feedback coming, that way I know I'm not making a complete pig's ear of this. If everything keeps going well like then hopefully this will be finished in time for the New Year, then it will be on to my next UL, no I'm not saying what that will be at this stage, though it will be quite special, of course it will have to be approved by the UL Council first.

Expect another update within a week or so.

All sounds very impressive. But the file linked above is 5.3mb, not 73mb. It's the file from the 5th November :)

Very impressive!

I really like the work on the ayleid ruins. Will you release the custom pieces as a modders' resource some time?

I presume your comment about the fort pieces needing more work includes the very square and hard edges on what appear to be abandoned buildings? Still, the design has a good deal of promise. I look forward to seeing how those progress too.
