[RELz] The Unique Landscapes Project

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 1:56 pm

I've gone and done it again. Committed an evening to making a compatibility patch. I really shouldn't but it just keeps happening. Oh well.

One new patch uploaded this evening, for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5902 (don't forget the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6226) and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41050. Myths & Legends 2 (remember the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6226) adds several new unique weapons for the player to find across Cyrodiil. One weapon was lost beneath the cooled lava from the volcano, while a fort ruin found itself partially floating above a crevice, which it didn't like at all. Not surprisingly, my patch moves the fort slightly so that it is not over the crevice, and also relocates the weapon which was beneath the cooled lava so that you won't need a pick-axe to try to get it. As a nice little bonus, this patch also resolves the conflict with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14720, where a container added by Myths & Legends 2 (did you get the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6226?) gets buried deep beneath the sands. I have relocated this container to a cell not touched by The Lost Coast, so that it won't conflict, and will also still be reachable without The Lost Coast too (though it is now slightly harder to find, but hey, that container probably contains a powerful weapon, you have to put in the extra effort for those).
Do I need the update of M&L2? I'm not really sure on that.

Thanks for the great work Vorian! :icecream:

I have tested the patches for Orden des Drachen, Jerral Glacier and Snowdale and saw some considerable land tears in both of them. The first was in Jerall Glacier cell 23/33 in the mountains behind the old watchpost. With Snowdale there was a big one on the way to the castle (cell 18/37) and another one or two not far away further the way up (cell 17/36). Also Orden des Drachen is the mod that moves the Oblivion gate I reported some time ago into cell 19/39, which is still buried between trees there.

Thanks Kobal, don't know how I missed that land tear in the Jerall Glacier patch! I've uploaded v1.1 of this patch for Orden des Drachen now.

Not at all surprised however that I missed things for the Snowdale patch, it was rather late in the evening when I finished it and uploaded, and there are so many cells which Orden des Drachen doesn't need to edit around the castle that it's difficult to keep a close track on the ones that needed my attention. I'll update that patch in the next day or so.

Well if someone confirms they conflict then I'll add them to the list, but I don't note down possibilities as I don't want to spend the time downloading these mods only to find that they do not conflict, when whoever mentioned them must already have them and thus could have checked for themselves much more quickly.
I can confirm a conflict between Integration and The Eastern Peaks
Cells 45-47,10-12
Both mods add new structures in this area.

Today I updated the patch for http://odd.newraven.net/ and http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33125, resolving the conflict with the Oblivion gate which Orden moved (and which I missed when creating the patch).

I also created a new patch for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26219, now the fifth patch for this mod, this time for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41050, where a tower ended up partially floating above the ground. Land height raised to resolve, and removed a rock which was covering something relating to this tower.

Hi, Vac. :wavey:

I would greatly appreciate your consideration in making a patch for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36101 and Lush Woodlands should you some day find the time. The gully entrance to the Underdark is currently completely covered by Lush Woodlands.

Now we have to wait and see whether Vacuity agrees to garx's request.
But just in case the answer is no or there is no answer, I'll add it to my own list as a backup.

Today I updated the patch for Orden des Drachen and Snowdale, resolving the conflict with the Oblivion gate which Orden moved (and which I missed when creating the patch).

I could not see any difference with the new patch. Are you sure you did not upload the old version again?

Yes I'm sure. I just downloaded it myself and checked in the CS, it's the right version. I had forgotten to delete the old v1.0 however, maybe you downloaded v1 again instead of v1.1?

I downloaded it again two times now and still can't see any difference to the previous version. The cells I mentioned are edited, but I still see the same land tears in the CS as well as ingame, and the Oblivion gate is not entirely connected with the ground either. Strange.

Then I would suggest that you have a third mod conflicting in this location, there are no land tears even without the compatibility patch at the location where Orden des Drachen relocated the Oblivion gate. The patch adds a large rock beneath the gate (disabled by default, only enabled if gate is enabled), and disables several trees which overlap with the gate (enabled by default, only disabled if gate is enabled). It may be that because the gate is already stored in your game save the game is failing to handle the toggle for the rock and trees, but this shouldn't happen a the game should automatically detect what state the parent object is in and set the parented objects accordingly regardless.

Maybe that's it, I can't test it easily now, so let's hope it will work as intended with my next char. The landtears however are not at this location, they are on the way to the castle, cells 17/36 and 18/37. Did you look there?

Those cells are the primary conflict location, there are no land tears visible in-game at that location as long as you are using the patch and have your load order correct. Any tears visible are due to a third mod conflicting at the same location.

any chance the unique landscape compatibility compilation will get an update? It's nice to have an all in one download.

I figured out where the land tears were coming from. Both me and the German translators did not keep up with the new snowdale versions. Updating to the most recent German version fixed one of the land tears and the most recent English version the second one. I am going to request an update.

Ah, now that's something I would never think of, since I don't know you're not using the English versions :)

Love these Unique Landscapes! Makes Cyrodiil a much more interesting game world to travel. I have been using 14 of these ULs for quite some time. Now I found this thread and noticed several more I need to install. Right on!!

Francesco's Leveled Items/Creatures and Optional Items/Creatures are my personal all-time favorite mods. But right behind that would be these Unique Landscape mods. Brilliant work, much appreciated.

As promised, I have updated the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13834 today, adding all new patches from the past four months and updating the BAIN wizard install script. Took me three hours and fifty minutes, so I hope it's appreciated!
