The "United" States

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:23 pm

Hello everyone, I'm very new to the Fanfic section but I've had this idea lingering for a while now. This RP is set a few hours before the bombs dropped,
and perhaps a few months afterwards. The counrty would obviously be in pure anarchy, with boarding up windows, scrounging shops for supplies, and building makeshift shelters.
Feel free to RP people of all kinds, but please don't go on killing sprees until after the bombs drop.
I'm hoping to get at least four other people joining in, so post your applications ASAP!
I'm probably going to make another Thread the "After Bombs" section is we get that far.

Name: Raymond Williams
Attire: Relaxedwear with hat (Saying Pre-War is unnecessary at the moment.)
Weapon(s): An ancient .32 pistol from his antique guns collection
Occupation: Banker
Family: Wife, Two daughters
Residence: Springvale, Suburban House
Personality: Easily frightened, Selfish, Reclusive
Additional Info: Raymond's wife, Nancy, is aware of the war but is sketchy on the details. She isn't the brightest spark but Raymond loves her dearly.
His two daughters are oblivious of the war for thier own safety, and have been told to stay at home. Raymond, with the help of his wife, is following
the instructions of a leaflet given to all residents of his area. It informs citizens on how to make thier homes "Nuclear-Proof". The leaflet is obviously bogus.

"Yes darling, go to Gold Ribbon and buy as much as you can. What? It's only a short drive. You know where the money is, don't start playing stupid with me. Lock the girls in, why not? tough. It's dangerous, you know that. Love you too." I placed the phone back on it's holder and sighed. From the window I could see the street was bustling, people were panicking like there was no tomorrow. Well, according to all this "Vault" propaganda there wasn't going to be a tomorrow, I was worried. My gleaming blue Chrysler was parked by the bank, standing out from the rest of the street. It certainly wasn't a waste of money, "The best in it's class!" apparently.
I could hear an eerie buzzing, almost like the telephone ringing. But no, it was the ancient Intercom system finally being put to use.
"Attention all Witherstone INC. Employees. You may have the rest of the day off to prepare for the pending holocaust. Have a wonderful afternoon."
Again? This had been happening for about a month now. Nancy and I had already built a shelter in the basemant. All we needed to do now was stock it. I grabbed my keys and my briefcase, took one last look ay my messy desk, and left the bank.
Outside, the street was so crowded I could barely move. I had to dive to get to my car, causing me to crack a window.
"Oh, that's PERFECT." I bellowed, not that anyone heard. A few loose objects hit me as I climbed in the car, but I made it unscathed. This was the hard part, although there were very few cars in DC, alot of morons think it's a good idea to walk on the road. After and ecstacey of honking and narrow-misses, I eventually made it onto the freeway.
This Holocaust is [censored]...

Lemme know what you think, I'm sure you FanFic guys could come up with much better, and constructive critism is always welcome. ^_^

Lacks a back story, we really don't know much, except that this a few hours before the bombs drop. We are we? What Happens when the bombs drop? How do we survive that? Just some questions that should be answered

Let's assume in this RP, that the area was safe, and people could survive the bombs/radiation. Like rioting, then the shelter, then a good dosage of Rad-X

Maybe have it where some people get ghoulified. :P

I'll try posting a character sheet later.

Here it is -

Name: Richard Springfield

Gender: Male

Attire: Spring wear (Striped shirt, brown shorts)

Age: 24

Weapon(s): Currently, none.

Occupation: Gas Station Clerk

Family: Engaged girlfriend

Residence: Normal Home (In the suburban area where the wrecked houses are nearby Tenpenny Tower)

Personality: Lazy, Outgoing, Paranoid

Additional Info: Richard, also known as Rick is currently at a Gas Station nearby a newly opened Hotel (Tenpenny Tower in the Apocolypse), and is listening to the radio, hearing how people are preparing for the enevitable nuclear holocaust. What he hasn't told anyone is that he built a fallout shelter in his house, which is actually a 10 minute walk away from the store he works at. People are fluttering around the store, buying canned foods and medical things. But there are still a few things Rick has yet to get for his shelter.

What Backstory? We're obviously in the Capital Wasteland, All survivors would have been in shelters for at least 14 days after the bombs dropped, (That's what the Government advised.) and of course, Ghouls are entirely acceptable. Rioting, murdering, theft, all will follow. No need for a backstory, just use what you've learnt from FO3.

Great char Silly Cat!

There was no mention of the Capital Wasteland, so how are we supposed to know that? We're not mind readers. You have to give detail and depth to your story or it just ends up being criticized for not having a back story, or telling the players where to go.

I mentioned I lived in Springvale. That should be a suitable giveaway...

I also advised my wife to go to Gold Ribbon Grocery, which is also a location in the Capital Wasteland.
"although there were very few cars in DC" Good enough?

Either this RP takes places where everyone is a ghoul, and some normals in shelters

As I said. The WORLD wasn't liveable.
